Phase 1 Gorillaz just had a certain aesthetic and overall mood that wasn't replicated ever again. Is it the Cartoon-Network aesthetic? The zombie-hip-hop? The experimental music? Something I really like from the first Phase was Damon's voice was very experimental at the time. Phase 1 just had a certain magic to it man.

Phase 1 is unmatched and will always leave this massive sense of nostalgia for me, kinda makes me sad to watch this vid and see all the drawings of the Gorrilaz in their old style. Gorillaz is just something magical.

@@obvioustroll.yetyoustillgo1634I don’t think their current stuff is bad, but their older material from the first three phases, and Phase 1 in specific will always have a bigger place in my heart. I prefer the themes and mood of it.

@@danidotthemusicmanI think one of the reasons it’s my fav phase is that it wasn’t lore heavy. Sure the characters had backstories, but they were originally just supposed to be just another band that just so happened to be cartoon characters.

this is a sad but great song. this should have made on an album. they need to release everything lost and rare song. i don't care what the quality of the song is, as long as its them. everything these guys make is amazing. This song makes me sad.

that would be so cool because even though this song is from phase 1, the story could be something like murdoc installed and saved every single gorillaz song into cyborg to insure it was protected and the files wouldn't get stolen/corrupted/etc. and idk if cyborg is still a flower pot like noodle said or if shes sunk into the sea like in the lost chord, but they could make an ep with all the unreleased songs, and any songs that are "low audio quality" could be "explained" as water damage!

Is really amazing how 12 years after uploading this song on KZfaq, finally I meet Damon Albarn and others Gorillaz members. (Two times, you can watch also my others videos) I’m so happy sharing music and reading all the comments here from people who feel the same feeling. All I have to say is “Dreams Come True” believe in yourself and love yourself. Thanks for everyone! Keep listening Gorillaz music! It’s not a just a band, is something bigger than a simple band. Gorillaz reminds me of a very discrete alcoholic who wanders around town in a haze when he's drunk, vomiting songs in the most unlikely of places, and then in the morning doesn't remember anything about it and just moves on with his life. And there's just the city, with all its nooks and crannies filled with these hidden... erm... Gems. The internet is a Gorillaz wasteland.

Completely forgot about this track. I must have last heard it when I was in middle school. I’m 26 now. I hunted down every Phase 1 and Phase 2 track of Gorillaz back then. Used to check Gorillaz-Unofficial like crazy, which had all known existing Gorillaz tracks listed on its site. I know this technically isn’t a Gorillaz track, but since it was mistaken as one by many people, I somehow came across it on the web. I definitely remember this one clearly as soon as I started hearing it.

I had no idea this song existed, but now it’s somehow my favorite gorillaz song now. Hell pretty damn close to my being just my favorite song in general. Even if it sounds weird at times, that’s just cause it never got to really grow into itself.

I’ve been looking for this song again for YEARS because I remember hearing it when I was younger on this same video and just today I remembered the name of it. God bless. This song makes me feel so nostalgic and a little sad, but I also feel at peace listening to this song. Something about it really captivated me as a kid. Glad to have finally found it again.

As The Now Now tour winds down to an end and Gorillaz fade once again into the background of music, I’m drawn back to this track-this beautiful beautiful track. This sad, heartbreaking track that tears my heart in two, flooding it with all the nostalgia of the band, and the pure joy I felt seeing them live. Gorillaz will always be the best band, simply due to the soul, energy, love, heart, and character put into every second of music they produce. Thank you Gorillaz. See you in ten years. I’ll be waiting. Peace out guys.✌🏻

@@gabs1131 I'm 2 years late, but still. You'd be right if this were an official Gorillaz track, but I believe this isn't. Routine is a Kid Koala remix of Lonely Man by Dan the Automator, featuring Damon Albarn, which was originally meant to be on Omakase, before being cut. Currently, the original version of Lonely Man is lost. This song isn't an official Gorillaz track, though has understandably been mistaken as one.

It really is so bittersweet to listen to a masterpiece like this and know it never saw its true potential…When Damon and co. composed these rare little gems back in the late ‘90’s and early 2000’s I’m sure they never thought anything of throwing some to the wayside. Nowadays, listening to this song does evoke a sadness in me. Nothing like Gorillaz

+Rachael Peavey Ok, did some digging around and it's a remix (like you said) of a fan dubbed song called "Lonely Man". I'm tempted to ask Kid Koala to release this as a single on iTunes but that might take him some time and he probably won't be up to it

It was a christmas party at my grandmas house,i found this one playlist called "lost Gorillaz songs" and i found this song,it scared me at first(i mean it sounds like one of those 2000's lost flash games creepypastas ost lol)i couldnt stop thinking about this,the *whole* day,while it disturbed me,but this song grew on me and i listen this every single day,at a point i know by heart all the images of the video Thanks for uploading this :)

he seems to be one of the best at makeing really great "simple" mixes. You don't need to jam a piece full of samples and scratch over everything for it to be good, this is just great craftsmanship.
