That's the Stopper cover making all that noise. They're to prevent false alarms. That may not be what set off the fire alarm, unless the cover hanging on the pull station caused it to slip downward.

craycray gaming. The Stopper Cover might have latched on to the Pull station (the thing that activates the fire alarms), and Pulled it on accident

I did that by accident once when in high school, next to the auditorium, where everyone was waiting for the buses. Totally freaked me out, I didn't realize the cover would actually set off an alarm itself, so I backed up quick - just in time for almost the entire student body to turn around and stare at my best friend who happened to standing next to me when I pulled the alarm. No one said anything until this girl shouted "turn it off!" So I put the cover back. The alarm turned off. No one got in trouble.

To everyone saying that a STI Stopper can't trigger a fire alarm...part number STI-1103 is the relay board that allows a Stopper to do that.

Looks like a nasty design flaw here. Fire alarm covers like these are everywhere in the UK, but unlike the stopper in this video, they're hinged so part of them doesn't detach when you lift them up. False alarms like this one (either from the stopper being left activated for too long, or the detached part of the stopper slipping down and knocking the alarm) are pretty much impossible from those.

I don't know how many times i've explained this... but he did not set off the fire alarm, he just knocked the stopper cover of and the little siren inside goes off when that happends so the fire dept. know where a pull station was pulled in case of an actual fire.

The alarm likely went off for a scheduled fire drill. He slammed the door knocking the stopper off just before the drill

He Didn’t sent the fire alarm off until later. He only set the case alarm off at first. After 30 seconds of the case not being returned to its spot, the fire alarm will go off to indicate a problem.

The fast whooping noise is not the fire alarm, it's a tamper alert and it can be turned off by simply pushing the cover back into place.

Actually it’s not the actual fire alarm it’s just the stopper cover making the noise. Apparently it’s meant to prevent false alarms.

There is no way that the FCI stopper can set off the alarms. It was obviously activated by something else on the system because it would not take that long for the alarms to go off and stoppers are for pull station protection and the siren under it runs on batteries.

Safeman4202 No if the stopper is left off the station for to long it does not go into trouble,bit goes into alarm. I know it because a kindergaten friend of mine pulled the top of a stopper off and nobody pulled a station or put back the stopper and then the fire alarms went off(alarms are gentex commander 3's)

at 0:04 you can see that teacher put force on the STI stopper and put it down, by newtons laws of gravity, there is now slight force being put at the top of the fire alarm, that fire alarm pulls like a BG-8. Thats why it looks like the fire alarm was not pulled but it was pulled just enough for the fire alarm to go off. That fire alarm works off a butten, once the butten is even slightly realesed, the alarm will sound.

That’s not the fire alarms, that’s a pull station cover. When it beaps like that the “Cover” for the pull station has Ben lifted but that’s only the cover of the pull station going off.

As far as I'm concerned, a Stopper cover hanging off of a pull station doesn't actually set off the alarm system. This video doesn't seem to make any sense, I know the alarm system went off, because at around the 0:30 timestamp, on one of the ceiling-mounted horn/strobes, you can see the strobe flashing, while also hearing the unmistakable sound of an electronic horn on code-3. I guess it's possible that the weight of the Stopper cover caused the pull station to go into activation mode. Can someone help me try to make sense out of this video? Also, I can only imagine how embarrassing this must've been for that poor kid.

At my old high school i hit 1 of the stoppers with a cart the kocking it off the pull statsion. the janitor had to come and put the stopper back on the pull statsion it dident set my school's fire alarm off but the buzzer was screamimg so i don't think this set off the alarm.

@@MarcusCollins69 I can tell he may be upset because of this and he was possibly worried of Federal Authorities charging him for improper use of the fire alarm system under US Law and International Fire Code. However, none of the two things happened except the expressions made in the video. I can see that it was only an accident and he was worried he may be in trouble for it.

@@QuentinRichardsthe2012brony It's also probably Siemens branded... the pull looks like some kind of MSI variant, and paired with an outdoor AS. This system is really common where I live so I recognize it immediately.
