brazilian here, i remember coming home from school and seeing this live on tv. we all hoped for a good ending, it was devastating. it shocked the country. police acted poorly and the main TV personalities who talked to the killer should have faced consequences, but they didn't and are still on air to this day, still making sensationalized content. rip eloá, you are missed

Reporters will do whatever they want in order to get a scoop. It's always for money and attention. Seeing this entire thing pisses me off... the way that everyone just wanted to get on tv and not one person's concern about the safety or the life of Eloa

I definitely think that with hostage situations, people should tread with caution and try to do better in terms of trying to save the hostages. You have to realize at some point how someone's behavior might indicate what events might unfold soon after. He seemed to like attention, and they had no problem with giving him what he wanted. I feel bad for all the people who were affected due to this I hate when people don't get permission from the family or police to go and instigate a situation during such an unstable and scary situation
