I think when I started playing Ark I really took the weight upgrades a little too much to heart. Cause now I have a carry weight of 700. 😅

Tip 21 is great - I’d definitely recommend putting some points into fortitude as it’s a great multi-purpose stat. Whether it’s for torpidity, which is affected by several factors, such as certain attacks that can cause torpidity to rise. Torpidity could also rise from hunger/dehydration, if you’re not prepared with enough food or don’t have any nearby water or anything that could provide water like water skin or berries. By increasing fortitude, you’re increasing your chances of survival before you can get to food/water before being knocked out due to hunger/dehydration or away from certain dinos that could knock you out and kill you. In summary, fortitude is a great stat to use even if you don’t need it for hyperthermia/hypothermia resistance…

A useful trick is that regardless of your weight and the item weight if you use F key you can pick up all packages on the ground. This is useful when loading forges: Your Anky is full of metal to put in the forge, but if you transfer from the Anky to your inventory you will only be allowed to move one or two stacks(based on your weight). This makes loading a forge very tedious. Instead, jump on the Anky and throw all of the metal towards the forge (O key) then jump off, get within access distance of the forge, hover over a package and press F key. You will pick everything up within a radius. Then you can turn and dump everything into the forge. You will fill the forge WAAAAY faster this way.

You can actually toggle the extended hud on your screen through the settings rather than always having to hold the H key. This is super useful as it also impacts the icons for items in your inventory alongside adding labels to all the icons on your hud and extra info. It's not a server setting either, it's just in your regular setting.

1:40 along with what your saying, never learn a saddle until u have the resources for it the tame in front of you and your ready to use it. You could find one in a drop or not use a tame and screw yourself out of points. Always wait till u need the saddle

For tip #5 I actually suggest building a thatch structure and then replacing it with wood. Its a good way to get some xtra xp especially early game

addition for number 14, the piles of rocks also give more metal than normal, you can mine river rocks but they are only near rivers, and stuff like spinos spawn there, so the piles of rocks are a alternative

I totally agree with you about ark nights. But, the first time I played I forgot about the gamma setting, and that's what hooked me. I instantly felt like I was in Jurassic park. 👍

The gamma tip was old school. If you look in the bottom right of the keybinding screen there are gamma controls you can link to individual keys to change gamma on the fly

i have a upgrade for tip 15 instead of splitting it all when its almost gonna spoil put a couple in a fridge when youre done with your original stack spoiling you can grab a new stack with one missing so you can stack it with the almost spoiled meat in the fridge so then you have more spoiled meat its important to add the new to the old not the old to the new

Every so often, I run into a piece of advice for something that's so obvious, I mentally kick myself for not thinking of it sooner Today it was using the spikes to protect tranq'd tames (and myself but that's less aggravating XD) Thank you for this tip!

Wow! Nice start on this video with the double screens. Dang! You are giving away a lot of good beginner tips, but the newest of the new players won't catch on for around 40 hours of game play since it takes experience to understand just how good your tips are.

Another useful tip would be using K mode to see around you and beneath the mesh you’re on. So many times a map has hollowed areas in great spots; which is good when you want to use the intake pipe trick (if the water is directly below the ground, the intake registers it’s in water and you’ll have irrigated taps). However if you have tames out or even try hatching babies, etc. on hollow ground, you’re more than likely to lose them to the mesh. I know a lot of people like to just build a gate and leave the dinos out - but if you’re aware you’re on hollow ground - you’ll know your risks and can build a pen. Doesn’t always stop the dinos from meshing and being lost, but it’s a lesser chance. At least in my experiences. If you’re playing solo and don’t have tribe members and a Quetzal to do the follow to the ocean trick, this might be the only chance you’ve got to keep Ark maps from literally swallowing tames alive.

Tip: If you go to Rag behind blue ob, you’ll see crate boxes break it with a pick axe, and it will sometimes give you loot like a crossbow or a metal pick/hatchet, arrows a shield or a sword, you can also find some more crates on the beach toward viking bay 3 I think... always before logging off if you pvp leave your best stuff in ob for 20hrs max, good luck y’all keep surviving.... 🌹

tip 7... replace with "tame moschops" and a few other small pets, like Dilos... the moschops harvest and you can ride it without a saddle..... shoulder pets make great backpacks (level weight) and they also make great cargo containers... compact, and you can store many different things in them... tame some dodos... name them for each material, put them in a henhouse and et them mate... you have eggs and more importantly, you have storage crates you can pick up and move around. its a useful little trick.

when you first start, pump up your strength until you can knock out spitters in 3-4 hits. you can build an army of them to protect you or send to attack a creature.

with the engrams it depends on how you set up your game or how the server your playing on is set up. i just play with friends and tend to play more than my friends do to begin with so i have my game set up so that we get plenty of points to spend on engrams

SPIKE TIP FOR SINGLE PLAYER: Skip the metal spikes. As far as I noticed they are expensive and pve single play creatures don't really bother them. So you can save materials and points. They are shiny though!

I've noticed ankies help allot to get metal from those river rocks up to 18 pieces per rock

i got a big question i cant find the awnser but hopefully you can, when you destroy the bushes or rocks and like idk but its realistic (destroys into bits on the floor) how do i get that?

Happen about a week ago, saw a kapro spawn in on a dire bear i was taming while coming back with honey lol. 0 chance to save it. Spikes are a must for sure.

This is awesome I don't play pvp on ark simply because of griefers and hackers who raid your base while out of bounds. But I do have a decent amount of fun on pve especially with boss fights and my favorite pastime of raising dinos.

Tip put a dummy inside of a fake base with a fire to attract someone then by the time they realize it fake you kill them . ;)

thatch is seriously OP particularly for roofing... Seriously hear me out... you take a Cookpot, add Gunpowder(not something you would normally cook) Narco, Amar and Azul berries, a bit of wood, and a Full waterskin of water... turn it on and wait a short bit... next grab a paintbrush and paint your thatch in that gorgeous forest green color... if your hut is in the shadows of trees, it is all but invisible! (Just be careful not to lose your own house!) you can also run a pipe through a tree, especially the swampy types, and paint the pipes a mud colored (Amar, Azul, Pinto, and Narco Berries, with Sparkpowder and water) and it prettymuch hides that too... lay the pipe on the ground, and you can run it to your hut... people will walk right over the pipe without ever noticing the thing is even there ^_^ Tame a beaver and get it a saddle. with a saddle, these guys act as a mobile forge, which produces NO LIGHT. this helps further hide your presence in the jungle. Do all of your cooking during the day, or just toss a cookpot down when needed... and never clear the ground around your house. those plants are an asset to keeping you well hidden While, thatch will never be very durable, if you paint it so it is hard to see, you can live in far greater safety: being nearly impossible to find far surpasses being a strong tank, at least until you build a metal fortress ^_^ paint can also be used to improve the ghillie suit... use a silencer on your rifle and snipe players as they come by... Troodon can be helpful in pinpointing where your human prey fell with its special ability to sense players.... be careful of aggro from tames, as they may put up a fight... use a pack to down them. you can also use a Own the night! Own the shadows! Own the jungle!

The two people I always play with are really bad but the difference between them is one of them knows he’s bad and throws his life away to secure loot or save our dinos if I die , so he’s actually really useful, and the other one is scared to die and loses the dinosaurs I tame to wild dinosaurs constantly

You must unlock stimulants and narcotics especially if you want mindwipe tonics I was absolutely stuck because of that

ok overall this video is pretty useful, but i, as a random guy in the internet, am gonna give a review no one was asking for: 1rt of all, even if thach is weak it serves a propose, it is a massive surce of exp, that at the begining is really nice to have. 2nd, in my opinion shields, unless you are using it to lure a creature or go past a turret, are kinda a disadvantage, they are really heavy and, if not of any special quality, will break in a few hits. 3rd, placing thing things under the bed to hide dem is cool and all, but they are the first things to be broken when someone rides your base, and so they will be found as fast as the bed broken. 4rd, just a little piece of advise, stimberries won't thirst you, will really thirst you, make sure to take a canteen with you if you are carrying stim, or always you can. And that's all, again a very good video for beginners, one that i would like have watched when i started ark a few years ago.

Only one thing I would disagree with. Never skip thatch structures. Why? They are the absolute best leveling method for levels 1-40. Just grab a bunch of materials to make thatch foundations, then build them all around you in a circle, when you run out of resources, dismantle to ones you built. You get so much back that you can craft/dismantle/craft/dismantle for probably 10 min straight before needing to go get more materials. And you can do all of this without moving, so you can be compleatly encumbered and keep crafting and building. I do this for 30 min whenever I start a new character and that gets them to mid 30s or 40s within half an hour, easy. I usually end up skipping wooden structures and go straight to stone.
