I read so much about the face-off. Decided to search the KZfaq, got it and listened through very keenly. People see what they want to see (selective perception for self gratification). Didn't see as much arrogance as I had read elsewhere. The only thing was that Kidero was a bit bully on the name issue: Ferdinad/Clifford. I listened without bias to these two gentlemen, having no interest in this,but if i had a vote i will vote for waititu,because he seems to be in touch with the common man and understand what their needs are ,talking of the basics first then go for the big ideas. He even has a brilliant idea when it comes to education, keeping students in schools. waititu is the champion of the common man. Kenya's Hugo Chaves if you ask me.

I'm glad someone saw exactly what I saw because like I also mentioned, I did not see the much criticised "arrogance" on Kidero's part and I totally loved the part at the end where they lightly threw jabs at each and genuinely shook hands amid laughter. Kidero is just a bit more knowledgeable about certain things and correcting Waititu does not translate into arrogance. Waititu on the other hand is streetwise but both are gentlemen.

As an investor, I see no problem with YT2's propositions. The simple reason being that the installation of what you take for granted- accessibility to working sanitation facilities will greatly improve lives- it lowers incidences of fatal disease, makes the slums more habitable and grants the slumdwellers more confidence about being up and about. This simply, raises productivity. BTW-Check out the Economist's story on the Kibera economy - its fascinating and vibrant in a way that appeal to me!

Kidero understands governance.. setting up institutions.. analyzing structural problems and identifying resources required to solve them. Waititu on the other hand understands the language of the governed - in this case poor Kenyans. His key strategy is to be visible at any and every occurrence in the poor parts of the city. Maybe this is what appeals to the masses. However, both of them come from poor urban backgrounds..but they chose different survival strategies. We get the leaders we deserve

I guess our politicians never learn that not knowing your opponent's name is downright rude even if Waititu has flowed character. You would think a Doctor Knows better. Neither one of this guys seems able to run the City.

Kidero for sure has my vote. He knows quite a lot and would suit for governor. Come to think of it they should work together because they both have very good strategic plans and that is what we need in Nairobi.

No matter who you support, I must say that this was a very good debate. It shows that Kenyan politics is changing for the better. Debates like this allow the public better understand their candidates and what they stand for. It also forces the candidates to be more accountable. We still have a long way to go, but I think we are headed in the right direction. Julie did a great job too as a moderator. I hope to see more of this!

When Waititu fights to stop demolition of slums he fights for all irrespective of tribe. Many of the land grabbers he fights with stones are actually from his tribe. The Masai incident that Kidero was dwelling on was an isolated case that focused on crime in the area.

Tell that to a Kibera or Mathare dweller. All they care about is a "Kenyatta market" that has been grabbed. Giving them history of city planning since 1895 does not sink to them. By the way, as a somebody who can surf I would vote for Kidero but I know deep down that the numbers belongs to those in Kibera who don't care whether I am commenting online. These are the people whose hearts Waititu has reached. It pains but it's true!

Listening to the two individuals talk, then u will attest that they still need to do there homework right. Waititu is being portrayed as the small man syndrome person, but Nairobi is more to that. We need an administrator to handle the county and that is why Kidero should be trusted with the work.
