I like that it hides their face while still giving them a voice and platform to speak up and on! We have to listen to the kids, I wish the grown ups did when I was younger, I'm sure we wouldn't be in such a huge mess if they did. I'm 40 years old. Kids these days are a lot smarter than you and I. Listen to them, they will give us the answers. It's always just so simple.

Climate change and environmental protection are extremely complicated, politicized and divisive topics, they are very hard to be fully understood even by adults. These kids are just speaking heads for the adults and that is disgusting: adults must have the bravery to speak by themselves. I'm not saying that the kids said something right or wrong, but I am saying that adults should not use kids to express their views.

@Kyle Beauchamp 'The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.' H.L. Mencken Yes politics indeed, to make people scared, incapable, therefore easy to control, by believing that world is gonna end in couple of years, they've been saying that since 1920's or so, one knows that by spending some time on historical context. What they called climate change consensus science is just human natural tendency for half truth conjecture, fueled by hubris and building a career with a 'noble' cause & have almost religious belief about it, pure ego. Most of the climate change (especially climate change histera) is just a crowd control measure like they've done though out human history in more or less sneaky way. PS if it's that simple then why you or some of the billion other ppl hasn't fully done it? Because totally clean, efficient, reliable energy is a fkn pipe dream and it will be for decades, nuclear is maybe closest but it's terribly expensive as an initial investment, it's a massively complex issue like most big issues are so anyone that's saying that a child could understand it np tells me that that person hasn't done their research, has a completely low resolution image of things and serious lack of awareness,

I am sure children are aware of this possibility and the difference between a society of free will and independent liberty with equal justice and a society where individuals are simply widgets for a political party rule that control all the wealth and opportunities.. @@GhostlyBanes children are developing. They don't "know" anything. Which makes them impressionable and easy to convince. The idea that kids should be involved in decision making is absurd and reprehensible on the part of those advocating they should. For political parties and corporations to attempt to persuade kids they are leaders simply by virtue of being young indicates a desire to take advantage of their innocence. I am absolutely against turning kids into activists. I also am sure at the same time kids are being sold on this idea that they know better, they are not being told of the times in history where youth were used to begin the most murderous and horrific take overs of nations. Eg. MAO and the red guard youth brigades which murdered thousands of teachers, academics and the elderly to start Maos Cultural Revolution. Stalin kulacs who were youth students used to murder farmers who owned their own lands so Stalin could usher in communism. And today student social justice warriors rioting and assaulting innocent people on campuses and residences who simply don't agree with them. Oh politic correctness also was a maoist doctrine and popular with youth and the workplace. I'm sure kids are being told this ..

Yea, it's pretty fekked up that people do that to children, trying to convince them that socialism is somehow bad when that's their education system, and their social security when they are old, their disability if they are hurt and the safety systems like OSHA that keep them alive and functioning so they can continue to work, as well as insuring that people are paid a half decent wage. It's deplorable that some so-called adults indoctrinate children into the idea that the destruction of their environment, the world they will live in long after you and I are gone is of no consequence or importance, and that all that matters is how much money we can give to the wealthy elite who are bent on this destruction. It's fekking deplorable is what is.

@@aylbdrmadison1051, do you know that over 90 million people have been killed in the last 100 years by their state (democide)? And, you believe in the redistribution of wealth via taxation, otherwise known as theft. I know that theft is wrong. A mafia of criminals taking men's wages, claiming it's for their good, is immoral. Robbing men of their own hard-earned labors via the threat of being caged or threatened at gunpoint is absolutely criminal. All government is slavery. It leads to the loss of freedom, every single time, without exception. A heavy or progressive or graduated income tax is necessary for the proper development of Communism. Karl Marx "in the future food will be used as a weapon to control populations , the people's freedom of movement will be confiscated via environmental taxation" ....... Henry Kissinger .

I have worked in Cambodia with Cambodians. It is true that a minority of people were indoctrinated into believing the Pol Pot doctrine that urban civilization leads to perversion of human nature. Cambodian adults, not children were responsible for the horrors of the Pol Pot regime. This TED presentation does show how adults promote bizarre notions of alternative utopias such as the Pol Pot doctrines. The question everyone should ask is this: If modern urban industrial civilization is so bad, why are people living longer in better health and with less crime than in other societies with less development of urban civilization? We should consider ourselves as trustees of the civilization passed onto us by our parents and take responsibility for passing on what we received, trusting in future generations to preserve what we have passed on to them and to exercise care and discretion when making improvements. I learned this by taking a clock apart when I was a boy. I learned that it was not easy to make improvements in the clock by leaving out part or adding any new parts. It might be possible, but I knew I would have to study hard and learn a lot before I could make a better clock.

More let's not do anything meaningful. Adults as well as these kids need to understand that if they are concerned they need to take true action and make some sacrifices. Compost, eat more vegetables, stop using water and electricity so flippantly, only buy local and not your favorite brands from China and India, no new plastic and electronic toys for Christmas... Show you are serious with the dollars you spend or in kids case, the ones that are spent for you. In sure someone will read this and come back with something about individual make changes won't do anything. I disagree, if everyone who purports to care about the environment make changes in their life government would have to do very little. Don't you think if 20% of consumers refuse to no longer go to Starbucks, the company wouldn't take notice? You are wrong. If 15% of kids refused to get gaming systems and cell phones because of environmental concerns. Manufacturers and phone companies would be worried. They wouldn't just accept the loss.

The same people who claim that Christian or politically right leaning children are blindly following what their parents are telling them don't see the same sort of problem in the kids like in this video because it aligns with a message that they believe. I'm not saying it's wrong for kids to get involved in the process of fixing the climate change issue, simply that they are far too inexperienced and knowledgeable for anyone to truly follow the will of the ideas that they are saying. It's good that they are getting involved and want to learn and help, but by far we should put much more emphasis and weight in the words of the adults and scientists who have a better understanding (and a more biologically mature, developed brain) of these issues and solutions, as opposed to that of children.

@@breanna6257 that's so unfortunate and I hear similar stories from my nieces. There are far, far more things to learn than just climate change, and if the educational system wants to prepare kids to take on the the various challenges in life and the world at large it will require more than just a singular focus on the general umbrella of climate change. I hope that you have been learning more about a broad range of things even if it's on your own time away from school, there's a wealth of knowledge out there which is far more accessible to your generation than I could have ever dreamed of when I was in school. Children's mind are being poisoned. It is up to as parents and grandparents to deprogram them when they home away from school. I agree we need to look after our immediate environment. In Australia in the 60s mother would insist we take our rubbish home with us from the beach and we weren't allowed to through rubbish out the car window. No one else was doing that.
