On the other hand, the damage they cause to their families, communities, and society in general. I understand JM's attitude, but his shaming, blaming, and berating this woman does little in a positive way. I work in this field and sometimes I get upset and lose patience. But then I regroup and re-focus on what I'm trying to help them accomplish. Their complete recovery. I want to really emphasize that addiction is a physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual illness. Please keep that in mind. AND remember how the epidemic started and for what purpose. Also, remember who profits from it.
