Hi I have a few questions.. my 2 year old has SMA type 1 he’s been treated with the 2 most effective drugs to help with his strength. He definitely knows to bite stuff but he still won’t chew.. I’ve been trying for a long time to get him to mimic or continuously bite on stuff in small increments at a time. Still refuses to chew. His speech therapist gave up trying to help him with it and I feel like I’m at a loss.. will kids grow out of this? I hope so cause honestly it drives me crazy with worry that he may choke or keep gagging himself to the point he pukes it up. I don’t want him to aspirate his vomit either for the same reasons. I’ve tried just about everything.
