For anyone wondering, the Infinity Snapshot was Mojang's 2020 April Fool's update, being referred to as 20w14infinite in the launcher (anyone can access it without needing to download anything). It was used to introduce customizable dimension features into the game, and the snapshot itself added several custom dimensions alongside the random dimensions.

Keir is correct ferns are incredibly interesting plants, like he said they have been around since before the dinosaurs and are one of the last plants to reproduce using spores instead of seeds. Dev is incorrect, whilst trees have been around since the dinosaurs, grass hasn't, grass only appears in the fossil record after the KPG extinction 65 million years ago.

this made me want to go and see different dimensions in the snapshot myself... and on my second one found a world that was not in the list... covered with fossils with endcity flooring... for anyone interested the title of the book used for it was "Mirage Island" and warning... it is the worst mob-wise... all ghasts and phantoms but you should still check it out the dimension itself is crazy as hell Edit: I didn't do anymore however... will consider doing more later

4:33 I think the point he was trying to make is that ferns were around for much longer than grass, grass only evolved near the very end of the last age of the dinosaurs. For most of the history of life on the planet prairies and plains were filled not with rolling fields of grass, but rather vast fields of ferns.

I love that the lava and wood generating made the first dimension slowly eat itself and the sand crumbled, reminded me of the yogscast where they made a dimension and only asked for "oil", so it was full of burning oil pits and a nonstop rain of giant meteors.

It was chaos last time I played on this snapshot. I got several portals that just crashed the game

When i first started watching them i always couldn't tell who was who talking because their voices sounded the same to me. Now after watching their awesome amazing funny videos i can tell Devs voice is a smol bit deeper

Fun fact about a fern, if you are stupid enough to touch the bottom of a leaf or stem of stinging nettle, find a Fern and rub the little pores on the bottom over the sting. It will get the bad stuff out and sooth the itching, but don't expect the pain to disappear all the sudden. Stinging nettle have these little hollow hairs with formic acid, the same stuff that makes it hurt when ants bite you. Don't quote me on this, I just remember hearing this when I went to a nature camp when I was like 6, and this was the only thing I remembered. That and how to make Doughboys over a campfire-

there is a book text that gets hashed to the number 2, which is the number assigned to the End in vanilla minecraft, turning the nether portal into an End portal. if you had entered that text (can't remember what it was) you wouldn't have had to search for an end pprtal. although that wouldn't have been as entertaining.
