The reason why I learn so much from Akobian is, that he first makes me think on my own, so I can make mistakes and learn from them. Really well rounded lecture!

10/10 chess video. This had everything. Opening, middlegame, and endgame. GM Akobian presents a beautiful top level game and asks the right questions to the audience to get them to play the moves. It doesn't get any better than this.

Kudos to GM Akobian - one of the best chess teachers out there. This lecture is a pure masterpiece. In 40 minutes He was able to explain: a system against Colle with a game plan, mentioning white's idea against d5 (Ne5, f4), distant opposition, playing for the initiative. What is most important - He made the audience think, come up with moves and justify them, which is the best way of teaching since students will be able to get the intuition and will remember the ideas presented.

GM Akobian’s presentation approaches are by far easier to grasp quickly. It is also gratifying to note that my games have improved tremendously ever since I started patronizing the GM’s lectures. Please keep it up.

I feel a lot smarter after this--as someone who has always been iffy on the d4/e3 style openings, it's interesting to see how the counterattack works and how to make the game interesting. Also, good mixing up asking the crowd about flashy *and* normal moves.

If I recall correctly, the first 5-6 moves follow Korchnoi-Karpov, Hastings 1972. Korchnoi castled queenside and won by a direct kingside attack.
