I saw this when it aired on Adult Swim when I was like 10 years old. I'm almost 23 now and this song still sticks with me.

I FINALLY FUCKING FOUND IT!!!! I've been looking for this anime forever! I mean I remember watching this late one night and acouple of the episodes. I forgot the name of the anime until now, but I ALWAYS remembered the anime style and the music!

It's so ominous and dark yet tragic. Just by hearing this song you know the heroes of this anime will go through many many hard times before they find happiness.

I was 12 when I first saw this, now being 31 and hearing it again makes me remember what I dearly miss.

I was about thirteen when I first watched this on Adult Swim and remember being fascinated by how much the light art style contrasted the show's violence and dark tone (especially considering I was also watching Cyborg 009 at the time). I watched a lot of depressing stuff like this back in the day.

this song always seems to play in my head when i get in a certain kind of mood, sad and sorta nostalgic for a certain time in my childhood. but for *years* i could never remember enough details of the song to search for it. i just vaguely knew i associated it with watching anime in the early 2000s on cartoon network. then just now on a whim i decided to rewatch kikaider, and what do you know, That Song started playing. i'm so happy to have finally found it again. it's so somber and beautiful.

This song and the scene when the mother shoots herself infront of her children while apologizing to them and also Kikaider having to kill his brothers was sad and depressing. I was going thru my sad loner phase and this op song really stuck with me.

I loved the way this show re-invented Pinnochio. I know it has it's own plot and whatnot. But even the show itself constantly references the little boy puppet. What I'm trying to say is that it's nice to see originality inspire even more originality.

Haven't seen this show in years. Haven't heard the song in years. But for some reason it's seared into my brain. For the most part, I was enjoying both of the seasons that aired as well. But then it got to the end of the second season and the main character (I don't remember if he went nuts or what) pretty much killed everyone in his group in an instant. It kind of felt like, "Whoa! What the hell!? Did I miss something!?" I've been hesitant around similar anime since.Kind of like shell shock.

I remember when this first came out on adult swim I was 21 and the best thing about it was it came out in the summertime. Those are such a good vibes back in the day. I got the show on DVD. I really wish they would do remastered version for Blu-ray or even 4K, the series deserves

I miss this series airing on Adult Swim, I was around 13 or 14 back then. I really loved the theme song. Somehow, if I fell asleep before it came on, the theme song would was enough to wake me up. This anime was one of the few, I introduced my toddler niece to. Anime was one thing, we loved and shared together.

I remember this one have a tragic ending that stuck with me for some time. I loved anime early on because it made me feel things other cartoons didn't such as grief and sorrow.

Didn't like this anime when I was a child coz the "hero" looks more like a monster than those goody two shoes heroes. Now I'm 26 and think why I didn't remember this series sooner. It actually managed to tell a complete, emotional story with merely 13 episodes, not many animes can do this anymore, it has done a fantastic job to describe a good hearted monstrous hero and his internal conflict of being a battle machine but at the same time pseudo human. Brilliant series.

Oh man, I haven't seen this show in years. I remember the first time I saw this was back when I went to my first anime convention in 2002..or 2003. But yeah, saw this at the video room and thought "Oh wow, this must be a classic" Miss watching this show.

Eh, looking back, I was too young to be watching this show back when it came out (1st or 2nd grade). But, I didn't care. :D

try watching the original Kikaider and Kikaider 01 series(actual series with both having more than 40 episodes), in those two series there is a happy ending where all the protagonists survive, be warned though, the OVAS to be different told a much darker and edgier story(hence the sad ending) and the original two series are pretty much child-friendly. ps:Inazuman from that Kikaida 01 OVA episode also had two series but no character from the Kikaider shows appear in them.

I remember this anime from when I was a child. I use to try and stay up and watch cartoon network and found this anime. I only remember the opening credits and that the main character was broody and some girl followed him around. Good old times ^^. By the time I was old enough to stay up and watch this, the anime was already taken off from Adult swim :(

@pokemonmasterxful No, I think it was an unofficial ending. Jiro and his brother were on motorcycles, then fighting each other. The girl calls out to him. And it ends with Jiro looking towards the audience, then walks into the fog of the woods, and disappears.
