I recently watched an interview clip from GBNews out of UK, Kiki Dee at age 76 has had a career spanning 60 years and lead a clean and simple life. She is very down to earth, super grounded and true to herself and didn't get involved with the drug scent all. What a fine lady and role model. "Truly a good human being."

Kiki Dee was a dynamo! I was 16 in 1974, and she she made me shake. I think she’s still around. How can you NOT fall in love with this rock n roll wildcat, yet, she never made it as big is Heart, Linda Ronstadt, Madonna, Mariah Carey, etc. I wonder if she was badly managed? No movies that I know of

Had to comment on this one! So glad you appreciate this song as much as I do. Especially as Kiki is from the city where I was born, Bradford - a medium-sized industrial city in the North of England. In fact, my dad knew her before she was famous. In his job, he used to visit the office where she worked. There are quite a few globally successful artists from the neighbouring city of Leeds and there's a ton of the them from Manchester, a short distance to the West, but Bradford doesn't have quite so many. Besides Kiki, there was the punk band, New Model Army, the country band, Smokie, and another of our best, Tasmin Archer, with Sleeping Satellite. Thanks for the review and reactions! 🙂👍

Pauline Matthews, better known by her stage name Kiki Dee, is an English singer born in Little Horton, Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire. Known for her blue-eyed soul vocals, she was the first female singer from the UK to sign with Motown's Tamla Records. Dee is best known for her 1974 hit "I've Got the Music in Me" and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", her 1976 duet with Elton John, which went to number 1 on both the UK Singles Chart and the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. In 1993, she performed another duet with John for his Duets album, a cover version of Cole Porter's "True Love", which reached number 2 in the UK. During her career, she has released 40 singles, three EPs and 12 albums.

Nigel Olsson comes on board for the salad days of Elton, then he and orginal bassist Dee Murray were fired after the Captain Fantastic album. Who comes back on drums? Roger Pope. Jamel, glad you got to take this one in.
