I’m the young girl in the video and I’m now 56 years old! I will never forget just how truly beautiful Kiki Dee was to me as a starstruck teenager when I met her, she insisted I shared her space to get ready when they said I’d not be allocated a changing area and Id have to use the toilets,she was so kind to me,I hardly spoke from shyness and I must have seemed a little rude looking back 😂Great memories for me to have ❤thank you Kiki xxx

👍She performed in Sussex a few years ago, I bought tickets but got unwell and couldn’t attend 😕I hope to see her sing live again at some point, the ladies I the gave tickets too said she was as brilliant as ever and looked beautiful ! X

My mother in the early 80s used to be a hairdresser in London with her own salon and I remember this song and Abba playing on the radio. My mother passed away 9th November 2018 and this brings back lovely memories and a tear to my eye when I hear it. God Bless everyone and wish you well.

Your mum sounds like a lovely lady. Was in many hairdressers in North London in the 80s and yes this song brings back memories! Your mum made a lot of folk happy every day when they walked out of her salon I bet! Much love x

Kiki Dee! One of the best EVER Female Talents we ever had in the UK! I grew up listening to her, and especially this song! I so wish she had gone on, and kept going. Because she was AMAZING! I miss her so much!

I love it. She is great. I imagine it was way too close to Video killed the radio star. I would conclude as the business is a business, they were going for the winning formula of the day. ABBA influence for sure here, and Video killed the radio star.

Kiki has been making records since 1963 yet it took her 10 years to get her first hit. Beautiful woman with an amazing voice, very underrated. Listen to her records and experience true talent with none of that auto-tune crap we get today.

Kiki has such a great beautiful voice with an intense range of nuance. Not so long ago I discovered the much talented girl and the fabulous woman behind Elton's Don’t Go Breaking My Heart. This takes me back to being in hospital with a broken leg. I just remember the cleaners coming on the ward and putting on hospital radio and this song came on. I wasn't sure who it was by, so my goal for that day was to find the singer. Obviously I succeeded, that's how I'm here!

It was used as the theme to a late-1980s revival of Opportunity Knocks on the BBC hosted by Bob Monkhouse, and later by previous winner Les Dawson. New Faces was a similar format show but was broadcast by ITV.

Great song that should have been a major hit. Kiki had a great voice. She should have been much bigger that she was, but instead she existed on the fringes of stardom while far less talented performers attained loftier status. She looks so hot in this clip too.

heard this song in the debenhams advert and i remembered it from an earlier ad in the 80s or 90s, but couldnt put my finger or found out what it was called, but i never forgot the tune in the back of my mind, till the other day when i googled the advert song, lol. great song.
