Nah people be talking bout just how theres so many sound effects but like damn lets appreciate how they be used???? Like the usage of these sound effects is actually straight art over here. Its not just mashing on a soundboard, this is entirely constructed and optimized to sound the best it can in this song. Like holy shit it sounds like they were made for this except its just their superb fuckin usage of these sound effects that give that illusion

This song reads as depression. It’s loud, and empty, and it hangs around your neck and drags you down with it. You want to see your friends? You want to get out of bed and brush your hair? You can’t. You want to, desperately. You want to be clean. You want to put care into yourself. You want to let other people know you care about them. But depression holds you by your feet, hands, and neck. It makes you useless, and you feel it. You feel your emptiness like a physical hollow inside of you sometimes. It’s self serving; a kind of sick ouroboros. You can’t do anything, even if you want it, and that makes you feel even worse. It takes up all the parts of you that are alive and bursting and drains them bit by bit. Fills active, creative brains with rot. Takes even your memories - degrades your brain function. Steals your happiness and leaves you hollow. Filled with thoughts you don’t want to think and negativity that bears down on you. Sadness. Anger. Inability to sleep. Sleeping too much. And you laugh about the dark, twisted place you’ve landed mentally, because you can no longer cry. It takes even the tears from your eyes. A catharsis. A way to cope. Something you don’t have. Sometimes you feel incredibly sad. Sometimes you wish you could cry. You know you need to cry, but nothing comes, time and time again. It’s not enough. You don’t know what could be enough anymore. You’re full of sadness and rage and apathy, and they jangle around in your useless body, fighting for a place as you stare dead-eyed into the ceiling. You haven’t washed your sheets. You haven’t washed yourself. You want to, in some part of you. It bothers you sometimes; how utterly incapable you are. Not for long. Caring takes up so much energy; energy you just don’t have. Every emotion you feel is buried under layers of tape, until the only thing you have left is that inevitable explosion. You just can’t deal with your emotions healthily and productively. There is no outlet. There is nothing. Your depression has robbed you of life, of happiness, of health, of memories, of coping mechanisms that might actually get you out of your funk. You are left with nothing but the empty rattling of bells, of thoughts colliding inside your head on a constant loop, of feelings you just can’t deal with, and it all goes nowhere, coalescing inside of your useless, empty body, and it won’t be heard, because you don’t care to speak of it-maybe because you’ve tried and failed too many times. You’re lazy. You’re useless. You just don’t apply yourself. “Just get up!” It makes you laugh; in an ironic way. Eyes wide and full of derision. You’ve heard it all by now and much worse. The only way your energy will go somewhere is when it overflows. You’re set up to be a ticking time bomb. You crack - one hundred, and then back to zero as the clock starts again. The cycle repeats. You don’t know when it will end. You are stretched thin; it feels ridiculous. Funny, even. You don’t know what to do. You don’t think you will ever know what to do... As for “getting hurt cutely” and things like that. That might allude to a thrill-seeking attitude. Chasing anything that makes you actually feel something. Causing yourself pain to know you’re alive. Laughing at things that should hurt you because the rush allows you to be present in your body for once. To, for a second, not feel as empty as you do all the time.

In fact, I think the cartoonish quality just. Fits. Because of how depression is. I don't think it's really healthy, how much I laugh about it. But it does, in a way, feel fake and cartoonish. Not being able to get up and take care of myself feels ... silly, like I should be able to, but I just can't some days ? Like. I'm in a Scooby Doo Chase scene, but the villain is my depression. There's something so apt about it, because it's. It is just sort of unreal. "Get up!" Easy, right? No, actually. Getting up is the hardest thing I do some days. And that ... in an odd way, it can be kind of funny. I know it's less severe to me simply because I live with it constantly, but. I think that's why the cartoony noises are so accurate. They're frantic. They're ridiculous. It just feels ... apt. Like, really, startlingly fitting for just how ridiculous it feels that I can't do the basic task. But it's also kind of like ... It also feels like I'm fighting myself, in a sense. And that stretching is, like. Two opposing parts of me. My wants, needs, and desires, and my depression pulling back constantly like a wacky rubber band. LMAO

Depression is also incredibly Sisyphean, so. "Spinning round and round" is also another very fitting thing. I'm either spinning around and not going anywhere, or pushing the boulder, and the boulder is constantly falling, idk. Sucks, man.

For a long time, I have had depression, insomnia, and crippling anxiety. When I first heard this song, I immediately fell in love. I didn't even know the lyrics, but it still felt so...relatable. The music, the singing, the craziness. I remember listening to this for the first time late at night and thinking "This sounds like insanity." I laughed the first time I listened, but not because I thought the song was funny, but because of how it managed to capture that feeling of emptiness and desperation. The feeling of that hollowness becoming so overwhelming you can *feel* it, *taste* it. I also cried when I heard it, I think. Now that I'm finally getting the chance to properly analyze the lyrics, I'm simply taken aback. To some, this song is nothing but nonsensical analogies. To others, it makes all the sense in the world. Kikuo's songs always evoke such emotions, which is why I love his music. Every song manages to capture the exact feelings of the people it's meant for, and that's so beautiful. Thank you, Kikuo, for giving me a bit of emotion in this seemingly inescapable emptiness. Side notes about the lyrics: "So I can't sleep, I can't sleep, I can't sleep..." Couldn't relate more. My depression, anxiety, and ADHD all caused me to develop into an insomniac. "We empty ones are jingling, chiming cutely. We crybabies are like a soggy flute that's soaked with tears." These lyrics are such a smart way to depict the feeling of desperately trying to call for help, but not being able to. Especially the "Howling, howling..." part. "Cackle, cackle, piercing cackles, laughing, clip-clop, cackle cackle, how fun." No longer having the ability to properly cry, you let out desperate sob-like laughter. Perfectly depicts the feeling of being on the brink of insanity. (I'm too lazy to write any more notes, so thank you for reading.) *TLDR: Insanity perfectly put into song.*

Kikuo has this capacity of making song that perfectly fits the description of "art disturb the comfortable and comfort the disturbed" all his songs make me want to cry cause his songs can be interpreted in different ways he makes it so that even the background have a meaning word can be interpreted literally or in a different way.. (Just to clarify, I haven't actually been diagnosed with Alexithymia, but after researching many different articles about it, I do believe it's likely that I have it) This song is immensely special to me. For many years, I didn't know what was wrong with me - I thought I was emotionless, I was so confused because I couldn't tell what I was feeling or understand when I was feeling anything. When I laughed I could inspect myself and not understand why I was laughing or what emotions I was feeling. After coming across this song, I found a comment describing Alexithymia, and I didn't think much about it at first. But later, I researched Alexithymia and found I could relate to what I was reading. This song describes all the confusion I feel, and my inability to describe exactly what I'm feeling. I stay up at night so long just searching for something I can recognise, staring at the ceiling. Everything in this song describes perfectly what's going through my head. It makes me feel recognised. Thanks so much Kikuo for making songs like this TLDR: I love kikuo

From my perspective, this song feels like it's about the intensity levels of mental breakdowns. The deformed emojis, are the random thoughts and feelings that will drive you insane during your breakdown. Your emotions that you've felt before, and the situations that you experienced got mixed up/altered with your present memory/mindset. The bell ringing could mean the tears are falling faster and faster, while your heartbeat will beat faster than ever even if you're in the middle of the mental breakdown. The "I can not rest, sleep.." part is probably them trying to take a rest after the mental breakdown. Help I don't know how to explain.

It reminds me of a mental disease called, Alexithymia. Where you don't understand your emotions, but you're body is still functioning as if nothing happen. Tears yet you aren't sad. It's like you're living inside and body that lives on its own. The ringing and the consistency of being confused with how you feel, it's like you are going to explode. At this point, the only thing you know you feel is nothing, like a void of emptiness. It's like to everyone you are normal but you stay up all night knowing you feel empty.

Overview: Alexithymia is a broad term to describe issues with your emotions. While it is not well known, it is estimated that 1 in 10 people have it. You are not alone. Symptoms of Alexithymia: Many people who struggle with Alexithymia say that they have difficulty expressing the proper emotions, such as happiness at pleasant and joyous occasions, or sadness at a gloomy setting. Others may also have a difficult time identifying their emotions. Just because someone has this disease does not mean they are apathetic, but they instead may not have strong of an emotional sense as others, and have difficulties feeling empathy. People with Alexithymia may experience in social events: - anger - confusion - difficulty “reading faces” - discomfort - emptiness - increases heart rate - lack of affection - panic This condition may also make it difficult to interpret body changes as emotional responses. For an example, people with Alexithymia may struggle understanding that a racing heart is linked to excitement and panic, but you are still able to acknowledge you are experiencing a psychological response at the moment. Causes of Alexithymia: Alexithymia is not well understood. There is a possibility it could be genetic. Another cause could be brain damage. The insula, the part of the brain that manages emotions, social skills and empathy, can possibly develop lesions, in which some studies link these lesions to apathy and anxiety. Other causes include: - Links to Autism There is a wide range of stereotypes linked to people with autism. Some can be associated to this condition. Some research indicates that half of the people who have autism also have Alexithymia. It is Alexithymia that causes the lack of empathy, not the Austin itself. - Depression It is possible to experience this with depression. It has been noted in major depressive and post-partum disorders, as well as schizophrenia. Research indicates that 32-51% of people with depressive disorders also have Alexithymia. - Trauma Alexithymia has also been noted for people who have experiences trauma, especially during young childhood. Trauma and neglect at adolescence can possibly develop changes in the brain that make it harder to feel and identify emotions as the child gets older. Other diseases linked to this condition include: - Alzheimer’s disease - Dystonia - Epilepsy - Huntington’s disease - Multiple Sclerosis - Parkinson’s disease - Stroke - Traumatic brain injury Diagnosis of Alexithymia: Alexithymia is diagnosed by a mental health professional. A mental health provider may ask you questions and provide a diagnosis based on your responses. You may also be asked to answer a self-reported questionnare. Another possible test is and MRI scan performed by a neurologist. The scan will provide images of the insula, which controls you emotions, social skills and empathy. Keep in mind there is no singular test for Alexithymia, much like many mental illnesses. It may take multiple tests and time to receive the right diagnosis. Treatments for Alexithymia: Currently, there is no single individual treatment for Alexithymia. The exact and proper treatment varies on your overall health needs. For example, if you have depression and anxiety, medications for those conditions may also help the emotional health symptoms. Therapies may also be helpful for Alexithymia. Possible therapy options include: - Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) - Group therapy - psychotherapy (also known as Talk therapy) How to Cope with Alexithymia: One way is to start being mindful towards your own psychological responses. Research has suggested beginning with your heart rate. Notice whether it increases or decreases in certain situations. A heart monitor or fitness can help. With time and practice, you will become better at distinguishing an increase in heart rate from excitement and fear, for example. Another way is to keep a journal. Use it to keep track of your emotional patterns and physical responses. Negative emotions are just as important as the positive ones. Learning and training your body how to work with them, rather than against them can lead to a more fulfilling life. Conclusion: While not life-threatening or seriously dangerous, Alexithymia can make even everyday tasks, such as talking to your friends or going to school, extremely difficult. Alexithymia can also cause relationship and interpersonal issues. It is important to see a doctor if you feel you can’t express your emotions or recognize yourself or others’ emotions. With the right diagnosis, treatment, and dedication, you can overcome the condition, and live a happier, better life. Ahh, sorry if there is any grammatical issues! This song literally makes me dizzy and I feel scared when I decide to listen to it, but it also helps me to let out emotions and confront past situations that I otherwise would have locked away. I feel like none of us are appreciating this work the way it deserves to be. The production is so complex in its differing melodies for each ear to the overlapping, almost maddening tracks that feel like this isn’t one song but rather hundreds, all fighting for your attention around you. You can hear where each part is coming from giving it a very encompassing feel, like your surrounded by them. He really went all out on this. Sometimes I listen to a song and think “I could do something like that” but I wouldn’t even know where to begin with this beast.

this is my first time listening to this song! i love how the background to this video looks like an AI's interpretation of smiley faces, it really adds to the song's theme of feeling like everything's distorted until nothing is recognizable anymore, it's really creative :)
