Invoking Executive Privilege didn't work for President Nixon with the White House tapes back during Watergate. SCOTUS stated that Executive Privilege cannot be invoked for those tapes.

I would bet money that the reason the audio isn't being released is because it doesn't match up with the transcripts. I bet they intentionally omitted much of what is in the audio. Who thinks the government wouldn't do that?

If the Democrats Schumer and the FBI didn't do anything wrong and indeed the report matches the recordings then they should have no problems releasing the recordings to the Senate and they are refusing. Then the Senate said well we won't release them and let the media listen to the recordings but we need to know if they match the report.
