Agreed, also if you ever have to see a human being die from hanta virus, you'll never feel sorry for a rodent again. It is horrific to watch, and an awful way to die. Thanks for another great video, looking forward to the rodent prevention in the tractor 👍

I recently watched some videos on Vetiver Grass. It is an amazing grass to grow, especially on farms. They have been studying the grass for a while. In Vietnam, it is grown a great deal in rice fields. What was unexpected, is that rats are repelled by it and they don't know why. It is good for feed for almost all animals. I have a garden and I just planted six around my yard for the same reason, to keep rats away from my house and garden. It is a fascinating grass, not invasive and I think you will be impressed at how multi functional this grass can be on a homestead. Best of luck to you and thank you for the very useful information.

Thank you for this video overview...I love the idea of NOT using poison! So I have a desert house (vacation home) just north of LA in Apple Valley area. Rats and mice have been a big issue. Ants can also be a pain as well. The house is remote and it's very much sandy soil. By the looks of it I can stomp out the rodents pretty easily with this method. What I also have is gophers. I've tried everything to get rid of them but because the soil is so sandy traps and even poison bait or smoke bombs don't work. All of those methods are ineffective because the soil just collapses and renders them useless. I haven't tried the exhaust hose method yet but that is next. I don's think they would eat this stuff as they go for roots mainly. Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.

Thank you. Any attractant will work. I also mentioned how dangerous they are to humans, the recipe and show the outcome in my other shows I produced on the Subject as well as an explanation. It's all about the digestive system and the complexity of it. Rodents having a longer digestive tract than other critters are subjected to a rapid buildup of gas from the baking soda having the reaction with the stomach acid. Rodents cannot burp or throw up, but they do eventually fart. It being a long passage for the gas to fart out, too much builds up and perforates their stomach and upper digestive system and they die. shows I produced on this that may be enlightening kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b6mnrbNopq21qoE.html and Myth of using gloves kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iaqGjbSIzKnNhp8.html and kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r8qqf5CHttK3kaM.html and kzfaq.info/get/bejne/odKVZqugkrSag2Q.html and kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gbppg9im1tHUkY0.html and kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hNVlp7Oflt2vkXk.html. I found out I had vermin in the back of my fridge freezer. Don't know how many, but not a strong smell or scratching. Stuffed towels under all sides and a box over the opening in the back. It still got out, but mess went overnight to a single turd. Partial success, as it ran back to its home which I pulled out and left the fridge in the middle of the kitchen. Had the hole into the kitchen plugged with steel wool and cement, so hope it's a straggler trapped inside my kitchen and appliance. Pest control was less than useless. I tried your technique last night, but mixed in baking powder and not soda. I also, stupidly, left another open food source. Will buy baking soda today. How much does a juvenile rat need to eat to feel sick and die off? One meal? Anyway, will change up today and put the food inside the base of the appliance before blocking again. A farmer said mixing super-plaster with flour and dried soup for flavour gums them up and they keel over in a night from their intestinal tract getting blocked and ruptured. Subscribed to you, watched for hours last night. As we're going into a heatwave, about 110 in the shade, with the unwanted guests trapped within the machine and no air flowing from underneath or access to any water, I hope they either eat the compound tonight or die from heat exhaustion. Great channel!

I lived on a farm in Ohio as a young girl and we used powdered sugar and baking soda in a small cage inside of the chicken coop so the chickens couldn't eat it before the pests could get to eat it And in the house we would mix peanut butter and baking soda in a disposable bowl and roaches would get it and eat it and die right in the bowl we would put a little mound right in the middle of the bowl of mixed peanut butter and baking soda they would climb into eat it and I guess they couldn't get up the side cuz they had oily peanut butter on them or what but they stayed in the bowl you would put a lid back on the bowl like a cottage cheese container a disposable bowl and put the lid on it and put it in the trash can put another one out on the kitchen counter or under the cabinet under the kitchen sink try it it'll work for you been using it all my life

No problem one more thing my grandfather used to take peanut butter and those brillo pads that are just wire without the soap I don't know what they are metal scour he used to take those and put peanut butter and mix it all in and stuff it into holes like where pipes come in and out of the house or whatever so rodents can't get in there and they'll eat the peanut butter and the wire and it'll kill them so you could try that too take care

Baking soda is the killer of these rodents. Whatever you choose to use as an attractant is up to you. So long as you use it 50/50 ratio. I choose not to use plaster, cement, poisons etc, for fear it will harm the beneficial wildlife, my pets (seven kitties) or my livestock, if they should get into it.

Have been putting tea light size trays of this mixture in several places in my house, see droppings a day or 2 then not for several days but then back again. Guessing it's a new generation or family found it's way in every so often. Should I be moving the trays to different areas from time to time, and should the mixture be replaced regularly? I believe this is helping but it's been really dry and hot here in TX so the mice are naturally looking for relief, will this mixture affect skunks?

We had an office in the mountains of Colorado that was over run with mice. We tried some dCon poison. It causes the mice tto hemorrage out the rear but, the freaking mice would get diarreah, crawl some where and die making our place stink. One of the secretaries brought in a barn cat. That controlled the mice problem quite well...

I set a cottage cheese container in the garden near their hole. Place two tablespoons of baking soda with two tablespoons of muffin mix and cut a two inch hole in the side of the container and place the lid on it. I put the lid on due to water and rain. It protects the mix. The critters come to the surface after smelling the corn, eat, and disasppear back into the ground never to be seen again. They become fertilizer.

In fact, baking soda is beneficial for sheep, cows, goats because it helps prevent bloat. I always leave some out free choice for all my baby livestock when grain rations are being increased. They love it because it is salty. My vet told me to do this. So, quite safe.

Yes it will. I produced on the Subject as well as an explanation. @pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319
@pinemeadowshobbyfarmafruga8319 2 жыл бұрын
No problem for other critters. Safe for wildlife, livestock and pets. Most all creatures can BURP or FART and expel the gas created in the stomach by the mixture of baking soda and stomach acid. Since the rodent cannot let out the gas their stomach and intestines perforate internally. They pass away within an hour or two usually in their nest.
@PLJS2018

We tried it and so far the mice, rats or Wharf rats I have got into it and spread the mixture outside of the container. But we have not seen any signs of a sick mouse rat of any kind in the barn. Just where they have been in and strode the cornmeal and bacon soda. My fingers crossed I think it’s working. Thank you
