GA 2 may be huge in this version. Operative 1 could open a hatch and then move out of the way. Operative 2 then fires through the hatch and close the hatch.

I tried to make it a "thing" for all 4 of these faction focii! There's always these flavour texts scattered throughout the books, and I figured I'd read them out to get people excited about the lore/hobby side a smidge!

Did you notice the Grenadier has three types of grenades and can use each twice, along with the demolition charge useable once?

Attack order also allows for fighting re-rolls. not just shooting. Defence order only allows re-rolls on shooting.

I feel like the problem with Surveillance for the CAT unit is that the enemy unit would need to be within 3 inches of the token AND visible to the CAT unit... Which means you can't hide the CAT unit behind light cover with conceal if you want to use that

The issue with the operative choices for breachers at the moment is that the box set only really gives enough to make one of each type besides the armsmen, so as much as I would like to take 2 more of them instead of the void jammer and geistskull, I can't. If the box allowed I would have the Sergeant, Plasma gunner, volley gunner, endurant, axejack, hatchcutter, grenadier, surveyor, CAT, and then armsmen to fill out the list. Even then, the surveyor and CAT feel like they could be optional too so it might even be half the team are armsmen making use of GA 2.

Me advice in that case, and what I would have done with mine if I hadn't received two boxes thanks to GW shenanigans, would be to use one of the regular armsmen bodies to glue one of the heavy weapons and use 2 proxys for those 2 extra armsmen. If you have the vet guard or any human regiment it fits pretty well as the "expendable 2 GA guys plain guys".

I find stun and smoke grenades to be very effective because under the item it has a action with the items name so we've been playing you can shoot and use those types of items. Are we playing that right?

Thank you Glass, nice coverage, I was off the breachers, then on the breachers after I thought of a colour scheme, but I am a little annoyed if a team needs 2 boxes to get all the options. There's a lot of arms and heads right? Might be I just make copies of some torsos and legs to get a full roster...OK now I am on again.

You get all the arms and heads for like 15 models or something silly, yeah. So to be clear, I have assembled a full team! I will not be buying a second box but will happily put this team on the board. I have a full TEAM, just not a full roster. How critical is swapping from a plasma to a melta going to be? Not much imo. to each their own though, but that's just always how it's going to be with these horde level teams.

I feel like the Gheistskull is just not good enough, except maybe on horde armies in the close confines of gallowdark. Probably really good into Gellarpox, for example. Otherwise, taking two Armsmen for more GA stuff is probably just better. I feel somewhat similar about the CAT user, but its probably a little better because Wayfind is pretty good. Still, you're spending two APL (one to activate the CAT, one to activate the surveyor's wayfind ability) and potentially letting your opponent activate an operative in the meantime unless you use your once per turn breach and clear. While cool, I think it suffers in action economy compared to other APL buffing units.

I pretty much agree. Or if you do take it, you're really only taking it to do a very specific single action (taking an objective from the otherside of the board). Probably not worth it!

In my opinion, if you can't build anything better than a standard infantry soldier, it's good.

Gheistskull's Blast gets the Close Confines buff, so is Lethal 5+. Not huge, but makes it a bit more dangerous.

With EMP you already have lethal 5+ or better on everything except the extremely rare 6+ save models, tbf.

Question about brace for counter attack. If I didnt activate model (so the model didnt move this turn etc) does it work then?

Maybe a dumb question but can the geistskull score escort operative and just boost to enemys dropzone t4 and score 2 vp cause that sounds like a free tac op for taking him

Off the top of my head without checking, the answer is a yes! Kommandos grot can do the same thing.
