There’s something haunting and beautiful about this theme. Like Aaron, it seems like something is a miss with the tone, …a bit off key. Irregardless, we accept it.

I feel like the intro captures the glory as well as the fall of Aaron Hernandez, which is why I like it so much

I agree what is your interpretation of the symbolism in this?
@DanielHerrera-cw1oj
@DanielHerrera-cw1oj 8 ай бұрын
There's a ton of symbolism... at the beginning, there is a spotlight thrust on to Aaron as he is showcased in his football gear- showing that at how such a young age he was put into a situation where he would become famous for something he loved, and something that eventually killed him in the end. The rest goes to just showcase how much glory there was for him in football; the scene of him doing the paper raking motion, him smiling which showcased his "personality", and then the tone switches. He stares at the viewer as a football player runs across him, and then the football player and his head concurently split, showcasing the most prominent part of the documentary, his double life. This double life is excacerbated as the following scene shows his face looking two directions at the same time, which could be representing how the good part of him want family, love and football, while the bad part of him wanted partying, weed and the gang life. Then, two players collide into one another and a gun goes off, showcasing why his life really went off the rails- CTE and murder. (RIP to Odin Lloyd, Sufiro Furtato and Daniel De Abreu) Then, the most prominent part of the opening occcurs to me, and it's a football player attempting to outrun a bullet, which he cannot do. Aaron tried to live the "gang life," and he ultimately couldn't, as his crimes would catch up to him. And then, as the viewer realizes that Aaron's dark past caught up to him, we see a football player's perspective of falling into the ground. To me this means 3 things: 1. The player is concussed just like Aaron 2. It represents the true fall of Aaron Hernandez, as he went from the happy go lucky guy we experienced in the first part of the intro, to someone who couldn't outrun his crimes. 3. It represents his death, as his story ends as fatefully as it begun, with football.

I interpret the disneyqsue uplifting music as symbolizing the childhood American dream that both the father and son had that tragically failed.

I'm revisiting this,now I fully understand the mind of my soon to be sociopathic husband,he could like Aaron,go on no matter how he's hurt people and function like it's a regular day.Split life,double life.

I think it's an instrumental of one of my all time favorite songs, "I'm always chasing rainbows" sung by Judy Gerald and originally composed by Frédéric Chopin & Harry Carroll in late 1917 Not the best song for a documentary on a killer in my opinion

At first I didn't like the music bc it didn't seem to fit. But as I continued watching each part of the doc, the more I liked the intro. It sounds familiar like some show tune, yet a little *off*. Like it was supposed to be happy but something is missing or damaged, making it sound sad and a bit tragic.
