Cool story. In 2012 I searched for a Killer Instinct Arcade. The only one affordable at the time was a Killer Instinct 2 arcade in Austin,Tx. I had to have it shipped to me over 600 miles away. It was flown to my airport where I asked a friend to drive me in his truck to pick it up. That sucker was heavy! Anyways $1,200 later, I was a very proud owner of an original Killer Instinct 2 arcade in my living room. It now sits in my garage with a plastic cover over it. I turn it on once a year or whenever I feel like it. I know that game inside and out, I honestly can probably play it with my eyes closed ;:)

I just love the sound tracks to "old school" Arcade Games.

The art work on the side always reminded me of Jason and the Argonauts(the old one ,the best one )😀👍👍

Killer Instinct 1 and 2 are my favorite fighting games ever! I actually have a KI2 PCB in my home made cab. Love the hell out of it. Beat this game in the arcade using Sabrewulf back in the 90s! Great video. Love and chearish this game cause I love mine!

It's hilarious how easy the game looks when you're the spectator. I'd also forgotten how much this game borrowed from the Street Fighter 2 series. Spinal = Dhalsim, Jago = Kenryu, TJ Combo = Balrog, Orchid = Chun Li, Sabrewulf = Blanka, etc.

Killer Instinct 2 has such as special place in my heart. Always loved the music in the sequel. Yes the characters went back in time after Orchid killed off the final boss Eyedol of the 1st game. The final boss in this game, Gargos, has tricked Jago since he was disguise as his Tiger spirit. Shame they never made an official Cabinet for the 3rd Killer Instinct game what was release for X-Box One

LOL, you sound like you're having fun here:) Love KI2....but IMO KI 1 was the best(seems more sought after as well)...but both are good but KI1 is the KING IMO.. Actually working on repairs on my dual KI machine now...damn U2000 having the dimming contrast problem. Hope to have it working good again soon. Surprisingly a lot of folks don't know that the SNES version of KI1 lets you link some combo openers that the arcade version will not. There were actually some gameplay enhancements on the SNES port that go under the radar. Yes, I still have my Killer Cuts CD too:) IMO, KI is the best fighting game series of all time!

The game play on these older games is so good ...the graphix may be dated - it just does not matter....cheers

I only play the first one in arcade when I was in highschool

I'd love to pick up a few arcade games and or a pinball or two. The problem is in this region they go for far too much $$$. For example. A Ms. PacMan cocktail came up at an estate auction a few months ago. I figured it would go for $1000 or so. Damned auction ended it went for around $3k. FAR FAR too much! Crazy. (Seattle area)

Back in the day I assumed these cabinets just had Nintendo 64 systems inside. Were the Nintendo/Rare arcades based on the N64 in any way, or was that just a myth? Maybe because to me, Cruisin' USA in the arcade looked similar to the console version. Would you agree it was at this point in time where the power of home consoles started getting nearer to arcade quality. Thanks as always for your great vids!

KI2 was a good game, but I think the first game was a little better than part 2. The original game was dark and its gameplay runs smooth, while KI2 was colored, it's like Wizard of Oz. The characters from the original game looked more bulkier and larger. And its framerate is choppier and the game is slow.

You should get a KI 1 board and put both games in there with a switcher or just put a KI 1 board in there because the original is a better game. Having a near mint KI 1 cabinet with a KI2 only board in it is an abomination and should be blown up with a rocket launcher!... just kidding don't do that.

I played both killer instinct 1 and 2 the 2nd game There were no characters missing from the 2nd game I even had the gold version in it had every character that was in the 1st game was also in the 2nd Game There were no loss of characters the new must've really not played the real killer instinct 2 Is no characters were missing in the 2nd game Even on the N64 killer instinct gold even had all the characters from the 1st game and the 2nd game The only difference was the final boss

great series until microsoft bought them and then ruined it with the horrible reboot on the xbone.
