The most over looked bar (because there is so much going on) is “Got a Vonnegut punch for your Atlas shrugs” Kurt Vonnegut was a postmodernist and an anti-war humanist. He wrote Slaughterhouse Five if you ever got a chance to read that. “Altus Shrugged” is a book by Ayn Rand who was almost the opposite of Vonnegut. A capitalist, libertarian and anti-socialist, she embodied the philosophy of corporatism and individualism in a selfish context. They couldn’t be more different. That’s why the bar hits so hard. For me anyway 🖤

If I see Atlas Shrugged in a used book store, I always buy it, no matter the price. Then I throw it in the nearest trashcan outside if the store. Capitalism.

Nobody catches those bars for a bunch of reason but I think the main one is 21% of Americans 18 and older are illiterate and 54% of adults have a literacy below sixth-grade level. Sadly as good as those lines are and they are fire, when rapping about writers and philosophers most Americans don't stand a chance at catching it. These are people who think research is done by watching youtube and FB or tiktok.

5:28 It's funny that you say Zack sounds like the guy from Rage Against the Machine considering that IS HIM. He's been on every RTJ album since the 2nd one, he lived with El-P for a while when RATM broke up. RTJ is the rap version of Rage and vice versa. They're perfect together.

His verses have always been killer but bro on RTJ4? He went ultra instinct. His verses on Holy Calamafuck are some of the best of his career tbh. “Every other goddamn year I’m brand new, it’s been 20+ years you think that’s a clue???” And don’t even get me started on Walking in the Snow

Yeah, we all know Killer Mike is in RTJ. He's one half. The other half is the leader of the group (Heard Mike say that before) and creates those amazing fucking beats.

This album came out a little early and was released the week after George Floyd was murdered. Listen to the track "Walking in the Snow" and when you get to the line, it'll mess you up. They wrote the track way before Floyd was ever known to us all and I still get goosebumps every time I hear it. RTJ is tellin it like it is. No matter how bad it hurts.

2020 started my introduction to Tobe Nwigwe & Run the Jewels here in 🇬🇧 The track is 🔥🔥 but Run the Jewels have a few bangers who have made there way to my corner of Surrey. I love Tobe & Fat Nwigwe their bars are so hard it reminds of the early spitters like Ice Cube & Chuck D. Enjoy those beers boys 🍻

Everything that RTJ does is produced by El-P.. even though Pharrell is on the track, he didn't do any producing or make any beats. He did come up with the hook though.

Been watching you guys for a long time now, and I just came across a track that I haven't heard in a year or so.. It's got my 3 OG's in UK Grime scene in the same track, so many bars, you'll both lose your minds and keep rewinding it. It'll take you guys on a journey and some laughs too.
