You said on the live stream you'd think of more films that aren't technically horror until you're laying in bed and I'm curious what else you thought of. I'd put Brawl On Cell Block 99. It's essentially Dantes Inferno where a man knows even if he doesn't get killed he'll never escape that place doing what he has to do to protect his family. Death Sentence was a vigilante flick that was just so grimy it felt like a snuff film. Which reminds me of 8mm amd the sad reality that movie show cases the fate probably of many missing people. And of course Spooki just did Requiem For a Dream which was like Smile in that you have this entity destroying your life and relationships except it ain't a ghost that a writer thought if it's the very real threat addiction that destroys lives all the time. And of course I have to put Man Bites Dog. It was goofy fun but I think the part that hit me was when he shoots that guy on his birthday and no one says anything. The people he sees as friends do are just so terrified to leave because of what he'll do to them.

This movie has a good idea but it was unfortunately mishandled because the concept needed better writers and a better director to execute the concept in a way that was actually good. I like the story in general, but it needed way more than just chemical waste mutates trees in the forest into carnivorous creatures that eat people and animals. That science-fiction plot is way too much like a Roger Corman-styled 1950s sci-fi horror movie premise. The whole exposure to atomic energy and chemical waste creating mutant monsters thing was kinda sorta out of style by the 1990s. Instead of an old school source of why the trees were transformed, they should've went with something more biopunk, with a scientific and technological genius botanist using advanced chemical engineering, and advanced genetic engineering in an experiment in order to turn trees into some kind of top secret military organization's highly illegal bio-weapon that could survive World War Three despite the possibility of a global thermonuclear war destroying most of the Planet Earth's environment. That would've made way more sense. The artificially created tree monsters could then become too powerful and then break loose and begin attacking everyone in the nearby small town that is next to the forest and the hidden headquarters of the soldiers, U.S. federal government agents, and scientists. That would've made for a much better film.

To be fair though, Gemser unironically was a minor fashion icon in the 1970s. She studied fashion design in college and started out in that industry too, before she moved to Italy for her film career. I think she just got tired of being in show business (literally tired of showing herself as a business) and left the industry entirely after her husband and frequent co-star Gabriele Tinti died. I'm pretty sure being in her late thirties/early forties and still only getting offers for the same type of eye candy roles that she played in her twenties, was tiresome and frustrating.

"Everything tastes better with Grey Poupon it." We all made that joke at least once, in our snootiest English accent, back in the nineties, right? You know, the main thing I remember about Creepers is that it was one of the first movies to really make me appreciate/realize/regret that movie posters were often much better than the actual movie. Oh, and don't diss all Bubbas. Bubba was awesome in From Beyond :).

My favorite commercial of all time is a Grey Poupon commercial. The two men is Rolls Royces were eating a baloney sandwich and a hot dog (called it a wiener) respectively, but fancified the names to bologna and frankfurter. The punchline was the two men driving away, one rolling his eyes and saying, "baloney!" while the other called the first guy a wiener under his breath.

If I remember this correctly this was originally planned to be a legit sequel to the 1st Troll movie because they originally planned to have the Potter family as the main characters, but the movie would still be about killer tree roots 😝😜 For those who don't know, there's another Troll 3 - Quest For The Mighty Sword, a.k.a 2nd Ator 3 😜 Though that one actually re-uses the goblin costume from Troll 2, which makes that movie the closest to earn the Troll 3 name.

Darn it! I was hoping the Working girl would have survived. Best character in the film. Also, surprised his Dockers didn't split down the middle. I had three pairs of Dockers back when I was a young teen working at Burger King. All three pairs slit down the backside while climbing into my mom's 1992 Mercury Sable sedan after working far too hard for crap pay. Thankfully each time we just drove straight home at night. So minimized the humiliation. All three pairs were new too. I swear, homeless people wear better quality pants than what Dockers make.

The only reason I can think that he has so many views is his delightful accent. Sticks and stones may break my bones, but those slow ass roots will never get me. All I could think about this movie about trees and I'm wondering if half the yokel characters family trees are wreathes. And she get knocked up at the end. It is a sick flick!

The performance of some of the actors is easily the most frightening thing in the entire film. They somehow give the cast of Troll 2 a run for their money! No vegan goblins though.

Great episode. When I watched it, I realized for the first time ever that Strohs spelled backwards is Shorts.

Finally, we get to see the conclusion of Ator where the Thor actor from the Hulk "swings" a sword at a goblin in order to retake his kingdom. Sorry, wrong Troll 3.

Should be remade with Sepultura doing the soundtrack. Also, I only know Grey Poupon from the Wayne's World movie

And in a totally unrelated topic I just leaned your ol' buddy Thor, while no longer active in abysmal horror films, has not hung up his vocal chords just yet. He's got a new album- "Ride of the Iron Horse"- coming out in mid March...! (The title track is already on KZfaq. More like 90s Molly Hatchet than his 80s classics but not bad...)
