This is Wanda the lady mentioned in the video. I am doing just fine. Clay is also OK. He is dealing with itching from the stings. He had 10 to 15. I had 3 or 4. I want to give Reed and Horns a big thank you for responding so promptly to the terrible situation and solving the problem. We had a fun breakfast with them when we returned from the hospital. Next week we have to go back. Vandals trashed the house in just a couple days after the fire before it got sealed up 10 years ago.

Also I need to think Clay picking me up and tossing me into the truck. It happened so fast it took me a few minutes to realize what happened. Also we had a few bees in the truck to deal with..

Tip from a fellow beekeeper. Use bentonite clay on stings. It does awesome for drawing the venom out.

I remember watching a t.v. show in the 70s about killer bees. It may have been In Search Of hosted by Lenard Nemoy. One of the proposed solutions was get a huge net and lift it up by helicopter to stop the bees from coming into America. Not very practical I would say.

Live in Victoria BC now and if you say there in Alberta there in BC to . Just pay more attention to my surroundings now and my never again explore old buildings old garbage pits ore you get the idea . Like to see how you make the captured honey some day . It’s gotta be the financial hardship is why they don’t want to call a exterminator. They think do I pay my utilities or do I pay a exterminator? Of course they’re gonna pay their utilities. Times are tough.

Mostly they don't want to call an exterminator because of the romance surrounding honeybees.

@KillerBeeGuy

We do a lot of separating of brood comb from honeycomb in the field as you've seen. The honeycomb gets further separated and cleaned at the ranch. Any comb that is contaminated with anything gets discarded. It's all very hands on.

Please comment on my observation that this spray adhesive you use in confined spaces to knock down bees is inflammable / explosive this is a ripe disaster waiting to happen. This spray, all of them, contain acetone and when you spray it inside some RV you are creating an explosive mist this is a catastrophic potential disaster waiting to happen, initiated by any kind of spark, static or what have you. Or am I missing something here.
@KillerBeeGuy
@KillerBeeGuy Жыл бұрын
The labels say to use in a well ventilated area. These are 'craft' adhesives meant to be used inside for home use. Your oven cleaner as well as most household cleaners use accelerant also. It has never been an issue in the 10+ years I've been using them. Thank you for thinking of us!

A simple pump sprayer with dish soap and water will both knock down the bees and eliminate the bees' ability to release their alarm pheromones. Results are effective and immediate, however, it's not as dramatic and exciting for KZfaqrs. On another note, you'll save hundreds of dollars in spray adhesive, expanding foam, and other costly materials. Just two cents from a peer in the industry.
