The Helghast have some of the coolest armor in Science Fiction.

"This is Vekta this is our home!" Oh the irony....

For anyone confused by the narrative. The Helghast started off as a corporation on on Earth. After colonizing Alpha Centauri, the Helghan Corporation more or less became it's own nation and set up heavy mining facilities on Helghan while colonists under the command of the corporation's CEO Philip Vekta, landed on and named the planet Vekta and help fund the newly created ISA. Eventually, the Helghan Corporation secedes from the UCN and causes the First Extrasolar War where the Helghast attempt to kick all UCN and ISA forces out of Alpha Centauri. This fails and extreme sanctions are placed on the Helghast and pretty much end with them exiled to Helghan where they were all expected to die due to the planet's barely habitable environment. They don't and eventually mutate/evolve to the planet and the Helghast rebuild, eventually start the Second Extrasolar War with the intent on taking Vekta back. After the failure of the invasion of Vekta, the Vekta branch of the ISA launches the invasion of Helghan to dismantle the Helghast war machine and permanently remove them as a threat. The Vekta ISA invasion fails and with the unauthorized execution of Helgahst Autarch Scolar Visari by a undisciplined soldier, the two states are are war for far longer than anyone is prepared for, including the Earth based UCN, which desperately needs the resources from Alpha Centauri. The UCN finally manages to broker a peace treaty that is mutually beneficial to all parties involved, at the cost of the Vektan soldiers still left on Helghan from the initial invasion. These soldiers disobey the order to stand down and make a last ditch effort to escape the planet on their own. MEanwhile, without Scolar Visari, the Helghan Empire is being run by a council of aristocrats, and largely boils down to two men; Jorhan Stahl and Admiral Orlock. Stahl disagrees with the terms of the peace treaty that Orlock has brokered and eventually strikes off on his own, capturing the rebel ISA forces and begins executing them on a live broadcast to show that he is the superior leader, though he is interrupted by the rebel forces that he did not capture freeing their friends. During this, the rebel ISA forces discover that Jorhan Stahl is preparing a bioweapon and targeting Earth in a mad bid for total and complete control over the ISA and UCN. The ISA rebels decide to stop this attack from happening and make for the space elevator to the orbital shipyard where the weapon is being loaded onto a Helghast warship. Admiral Orlock, now Autarch Orlock, arrives on the orbital shipyard to arrest Stahl for violating the peace agreement, but is ultimately murdered by Stahl. The ISA troops board at roughly the same time and after a struggle that extends into space, manage to disable the Helghast cruiser carrying the bioweapon. However this causes the bioweapon to be deployed over Helghan, and kills a majority of the population on the surface of the planet. Only those that were underground were spared. The accidental genocide is made known to all of human space and though the ISA troops expected to be hailed as heroes, they were most likely arrested and tried for war crimes, as at the time of the genocide, the ISA, the UCN and the Helghan Empire were at peace. During this time, the UCN forces the ISA to accept Helghast refugees and a total and complete end to the conflict facing what was surely massive public outcry from the civilian populations on Earth. The UCN forces Vekta to divide it's primary city and that the Helghast be given complete and total free reign over it as recompense. Forced eviction and executions ofVektan civilians are overlooked in the name of sustained peace, which lasts for fifteen years before militant elements begin disrupting that peace. Thus the events of Shadow Fall come to pass, and that with the final elimination of Shadow Marshal Sinclair and the reveal of the web of intrigue that pushed the Helghast and ISA back to war are revealed, possibly easing tensions and preventing another cataclysmic war. So for TLDR, the Helghast actually are the rightful owners of Vekta, but they got screwed over by Earth who needed resources. That set off a series of devastating wars that made the UCN even more strapped for resources until it was finally forced to involve itself fully and force a peace treaty. ISA elements still on Helghan disobeyed several direct orders that caused the conflict to escalate and then murdered in peace time a entire planet woeth of civilians before the UCN finally said ENOUGH and smacked the ISA and Vekta in the face with the Peace stick. Then years later militant assholes in both factions get uppity and try to restart the wars of their heydays.

I love how the tables turn and you see more into the motives of the Helghast and start to see some of the ISA’s and VSA’s true colors and perspective on their thoughts of the Helghast.

There are too many fucking times in this game where the Helghans are pointing a gun at the main character and not pulling the trigger.

I sat here and watched every single Killzone campaign cutscene that youtube has to offer and was really getting in to where this one goes. That ending.

The plot of this franchise makes no sense. ISA nuked the Helghan world, and then gave them half of their planet as a refuge in compensation out of guilt... but why the Fk would they allow them to bring Military equipment of any kind.

Well, now I know how this ends. Didn't think Stahl would pull a Palpatine on us and prepare an entire invasion force like that.

Stahl was a monster who crushed the Hopes of the Helghan Empire. In the name of power and Ego. He put himself first, and Covered his own desires for power over Helghan itself. and in the end. Allowed for it's destruction.

(then the next game will be about helgast and vektans reluctantly working together against Earth)

What i dont get is why all of this is happening! Their homeworld destroyed ther should only be a handful of Helghast left. Even if they were allowed o relocate to half of an occupied planet, I would think half the Earth fleet would be parked over their heads. In the Horizon Zero Dawn Documentary, one of the developers mentioned that they started developing Killzone Shadow simultaneously with Horizon, and that KZ was developed as an open world game to test the waters while Horizon was still in pre production. In broad strokes the engine and the mechanics could be transferred to develop horizon, while swapping out the assets. Looking back at this game with this information now, the entire game looks more like a tech demo, and everything in this game really look like generic placeholders so that most of the studio's art department could focus on the beautiful game that is now Horizon.

After all the shit that happened between these two forces, why the hell did Vektans allow the Helghast to resettle on Vekta? Either force them to remain on Helghan or wipe out the survivors.

I LOVE KILLZONE

Okay so I'm completely new to the Killzone Franchise. I like older games so I decided to get Killzone and stuff with my PS2 slim (Had a GameCube back then and still do) I quickly fell in love with the first game and its formula. It really is a classic that was cutting edge for its time. The gunplay is really fun once you've got the hang of it. Its fairly challenging on hard thanks to no health regen so +. I like Luger and Hakha. Rico is love/hate because he's an idiot but useful in combat and Templar is basically the squad's simpering wuss that I laugh at. Anywho this game seems so different from the first one and the ISA seem to have developed a severe case of GDI syndrome. The story is... Not as good as Killzone IMO. I feel like Killzone is more coherent as a game judging from what I've seen.

1:16:54. This re-armament and fleet rebuild is (in my opinion) more believable then the one in Star Wars ep9.

I never understood this game story. I mean...Helghast start a war. Try to kill lots of people. Then make weapons that blow up their own world. So...they get half of the world they were trying to conquer? What the hell???

The game had too many plotholes, for one, both sides are the bad guys(Helghast and ISAVSA) and cared too much about territory as opposed to the survival of their people. Secondly, Sinclair and Stahl are both antagonists in the sense that they want to annihilate one another. Thirdly, Sinclair betrays Lucas for disobeying him on Echo and wants to instigate another war, and Echo, whose intentions are good only made things worse by sniping Sinclair as opposed to a hand to hand combat and putting Sinclair in vektan prison.

I just wish we get a game where we play as mercenaries again or Earth Govt. Forces and mess the Vektans up

(thinking logically) the sniper that kills the commander at the end must surely have been one of his own men given an order from him to kill him, i mean, the girl wants to avoid conflict at all costs, making a martyr of him in public would only lead to all out war and invasion, maybe she was trying to stop the sniper but failed, possibly we play as her in the next game, first mission is a failed attempt to stop this sniper....

The Vektans were stupid for giving Helghan refuge on their homeworld, they could've ended them right away but they gave them another chance, with the Helghans backstabbing them as expected :P The UCN started the First Extrasolar War to wipe them out due to them exploiting the UCN when they were weak but didn't even do it when they were at their weakest....

Honestly, neither faction Really deserves sympathy. Yes, the Helgasts were abused and murdered in mass, but dude, you constantly bully and murder civilians, and you have a permanent scowl on your mask with evil red eyes. It's no surprise people attack you; stop acting like the attack on your people was unprovoked. (Dunno the while series plot, but I hope it really was justified) Obviously the civilian kills weren't, but come on, they look like demon nazis
