For me she’s my favorite in the world. Lol she’s a singer’s & musician’s singer. I along with every other singer in Houston just can’t help but to sing with influence of her.

The first time I heard her sing this song was at Whitney Houston's funeral and I lost it. Her voice gets you in your feelings. The way she along with the background singers killed this while sitting down is amazing🔥🔥🔥. Thank you for reacting to this. 💕

I heard that Beyonce sometimes sings Kim Burrell's "Holy Ghost" as part of her prep before going live, or something like that. There's a video of Whitney singing that song while on a ride somewhere on the internet. Like someone else said, Jazmine Sullivan studied Kim as well. She's an institution in the black female vocal world.

She just plucks those notes out of the air from so over the place! She’s my favorite jazz gospel vocalist. There was her mind works out those runs doesn’t make sense to me. And that little rasp in her voice as well. This is gospel and jazz vocal stylings mixed in.
