Colineo Agreed. As a straight cis male ally, I have been saying forever that she probably would have been a lot bigger than she already is if she weren’t trans. She’s more talented than a lot of other pop artists I hear out there, from my perspective anyway, because I’m not really into pop too much. Her music, OTOH, is really catchy, and her voice is really nice. That final track “Shinin’” on her new 12-track collection was a revelation to me. I knew she could belt, but she found some new kind of level on that song, especially on the background vocals. 😊

I love that she isn’t ashamed to call her music pop music. A lot of pop artists deny that they’re pop stars, and try to label their music as something other than pop. (When it is pop obviously) Edit: lol no offense but I was literally thinking about Halsey when I wrote that... I don’t think Halsey is a bad person at all. It’s just kind of annoying since she has that same old indie girl voice that tons of girls use when they sing and think it’s unique. She always tries to say her music isn’t pop. I get what she means because some of her songs aren’t the traditional definition of pop music, but It’s on the Pop Channel. There’s nothing wrong with being a Popstar. I don’t get why she is so ashamed to call it pop? Again, like I said, I don’t think she’s a bad person.

Sure She has done without me which is pure pop, but then She did nightmare which is a punk rock pop anthem and then there's "walls could talk" which is classical music. You cant really call her a pure pop artist, she obviously Makes alternative pop music. @@michaelfrancis0219 she has to work with him because she was signed to his publishing company as a songwriter before she was famous. she said many people in the industry didnt want to work with her because she was trans, and record labels didnt want to sign her and told other musicians not to work with her. in fact one high ranking record label executive told people "if you work with kim petras, you're going to hell." lets cut her some slack.

I did not know the transphobia was so bad in the general public... the amount of downvotes makes me so sad. I’ve been following her for a while and when you watch her videos the comments and likes are nothing like this. The video itself did kind of make her sound like a megafamous Star, I would say that was a little over the top. She has a cult following and she’s very successful, but she’s not charting or becoming a household name.

kalyan krishna billie only has a 1 actual album. we need to wait to see if she can hold up in the industry. for example when carly ray jepsen had her debut album and had a bunch of major hits everyone was saying she’s the new pop princess/queen, but she was immediately ghosted and forgotten after the hype died down.

Deja Kordei that’s true, but I think billies music actually has substance and sustainability, cuz her EP and LP were both praised and in two years you can see the meteoric rise. Your right she may not be pops princess, but I definitely see a future cuz she’s being herself and people actually like her. I feel like Carly people only liked the one song, with Billie I feel like all her singles actually were well praised. Oh and she has her brother and that dude is a genius. But it will be interesting to see how far she goes, hopefully she doesn’t get the best new artist award lol

Reese Williams She spoke about how NO ONE ELE would work with her because she’s trans. Luke wasn’t getting work either because of the scandal so he basically had pity on her until she snapped and he realized how good she was. Honestly it’s like when we buy a poland spring water bottle cause we are dehydrated, even though Nestle owns Poland spring. Some people are just more masculine than other males and when that’s the case it’s going to make your transition harder. Also Kim was on hormones before reaching puberty so has been transitioning for years.

Pdrew has nothing to do with practice. Not like this person is “trying” to make a feminine voice. Kim was on hormones before puberty so never had a deep voice anyway and like I mentioned some cis men are naturally more masculine than others and when you’re not a physically masculine man transitioning will always be at an advantage for you. I'm not really into pop music these days but honestly i can't deny that her voice is amazing. like she has so much power in her voice it's really admirable. I feel like she'll make it big time soon, like she's already pretty popular, i wouldn't be surprised if she gets one of her singles on the radio which would be awesome since radio music has been pretty shit recently so it'd be nice to finally hear some talent on the radio

First heard her song 🎶 got my number 🎶 on “After we collided” movie. Then I got into the song and just downloaded her song. She is amazing with a beautiful voice. I just found out that she is trans and that is great. People shouldn’t be mean towards her just because of what she is. She is beautiful successful and has a kind heart. Just watching her videos is so inspiring. I’m glad that she is living her truth self and is happy.

Great review on her life’s portrayal,It’s hard to imagine how someone so young made a decision that would change not only her identity but her life.Her songs express how she truly feels deep inside, and is happy in her own skin. She’s following in the footsteps of all the GREATS.
