This made me cry BIG!! As a chronically ill mom, I felt so guilty that I couldn't take my daughter to piano lessons. She loved playing. All I could do was take her hands and pray over them asking God to annoint her and teach her. Two days ago a VERY talented piano player that has played for over 40 years told me that my 15 year old daughter has surpassed her in piano playing and the only explanation was that it was a gift from God.🙌 Thanks so much for sharing this!! God knows how to give good gifts to his children!!

I knew your story before I heard it from you! God gave me my gift of playing when I was quite young, also! My mother was a church piano player. She really didn't want me to play because her brother played the blues well and never went to church. When my church recognized my talant and sent me to the best teacher in our area, I promised God that if he gave me that sound and style of the " educated " sound of this Negro teacher, I would always serve the church and school! Well, I'm 82 this year and retired after more than 72 years as a church and school music servant. I never played in the clubs. My son is now carrying on as 4th generation musician in our family.what inspiration I get when I hear this great woman of God render her best unto the Lord!

She plays with such annointing! No teacher could give her that. Only God!!!!!

God gave me the passion to worship HIM anywhere I'm asked to, in regular Sunday Choir, Wake services and even in a non-Christian gathering, singing Christian songs also! Now, I'll start reviewing my basic piano with the second hand keyboard that I bought for my 63rd birthday! I've heard Kim play "How Great Thou Art" probably a hundred times. Never has it blessed me like it has today after hearing her story of her Gift. Praise Be To God!

Shocking to me that anybody could give this video a thumbs down. The enemy prowls around “like” a roaring lion. We live in very challenging times and we need to turn off the news and fill our hearts with stories like this. There is no greater miracle then the Salvation of Jesus Christ but God has poured out countless miracles on mankind, none of which we’ve earned or deserved.

As a pianist for most of my life, I know first hand how difficult it is to play some of the things that some of the Gospel pianists play. I started playing at age 6. I'm now 52. I had 3 different teachers. 4 if you include my piano professor for the one semester of college. Of those, only 2 were formal, and both of those were short lived for teaching me, 6 months or less. I also played by ear. If I could hear it, I could have the music and work thru it. Playing by ear is a very hard struggle for formal piano teachers. They don't like it when students do that. I was introduced to Dino's music first around the age of 19 or 20. I was hooked on his music the very first time I saw him in concert. I started playing his music. Not strictly from the music, but by the way I heard him play it on his recordings. Then I saw Anthony while going to some of the Gaither Homecoming concerts. I never was able to play a lot of his stuff. I couldn't figure out how he did some of the things he did. Then, at another one of the Gaither Homecoming concerts, a GaitherFest in Myrtle Beach, SC, the Collingsworth family sang and I heard Kim play for the very first time. I believe that was in 2011. The very first time I heard their harmony, I knew they were special. Then when Kim sat down at the piano and played, It was like seeing and hearing Dino and Anthony all over again, but rolled up into one. She has the stage presence and classical styling of Dino with the arrangement types of Anthony. She also has a lot of the early Dino style as well. I can't do some of the things she does either. God blesses people at specific times with specific gifts. One of my opinions is that God blessed Kim with her abilities because He knew he was going to call Anthony home earlier than most would have thought and He needed someone to continue to carry that torch onward. And she does that with ease. Her anointing is very obvious and evident in her playing. The whole family praises God and makes sure He is given all the glory for everything they have done, are doing and will do. Without God, we are nothing. Thru God, we can do all things. I'm not taking away from any other pianists in the industry by any means. There some great ones. Jeff Stice, Josh Singletary, Gerald Wolfe and so many others. I think people like Kim and Anthony were given their talents for a specific purpose. Anthony used his and Kim still uses her talent for God, letting others know the power of God. He can do anything He wants. We just have to ask, be receptive for that gift and truly believe that it will be given to us. Then use it to honor and glorify His name. I pray that Kim and the entire Collingsworth family continues to bring their ministry in song to the people around world. This world so desperately needs to hear the Word now. God loves all of His children. We need to hear His word and his message. We need His guidance, His love, His grace and His mercy right now. Thank you Phil, Kim, Brooklyn, Courtney, Phil Jr. and Olivia for your unwavering service to the Lord. May the Lord continue to bless each of you and use you to spread His message of love, hope and peace to all those who need to hear it and need to be reminded of it.

I was a PK and I so loved your testimony. I am an Organist and my experience is so much like yours, only I started playing about 5 and it was in the key of "C". My Uncle and Dad, Mom and Aunt laid hands on me and asked the Lord to give me the ability to play for Him. I started playing for services when I was about 12 years old and have played for church worship ever since. The Lord is good and faithful to us.

So much of her story sounds much like my own when I was little. My mother read me a bedtime story about a little girl who wanted to play the piano so she prayed for a piano to take lessons on and Jesus heard her prayers.So I did the same, and Jesus answered my prayers. I took about 6 months of lessons but enjoyed playing hymns rather than my lesson pieces. (Mostly by ear) I’ve since picked up playing the organ as well and can pretty much hold my own while playing in church. Kim, I LOVE this! I've never heard How Great Thou Art played so well in my 35 years! It's my favorite hymn. Your story and mine are similar. I was a child prodigy on piano and drums myself. And I actually didn't even want to learn piano, lol! I got suspended from school in I think 5th grade, and part of my regimen of punishment was to sit and learn piano an hour a day during that suspension. I'm thankful for it now, I've played piano and drums, organs, keyboards, guitars in church most of my life now. We didn't have money for lessons either, so I learned by ear. I can just barely read a little music. I think God set it up that way on purpose. When you read music, you play almost robotically. You play by ear, you can put feeling into it. But unlike you, my heyday of music is behind me. I still play bass guitar nearly every service, but I'm transitioning to preaching, so I don't play piano as much or quite as well, because I don't practice much. But you look like you have years of playing for Jesus ahead of you. Keep up the good work!

Kim, I heard you play for the first time through FBA Palm Sunday 2023. I just heard your story about asking God for a gift. When our DIL was experiencing her first child I prayed he would have a heart for God as King David did and that he would have a musical gift that would speak to God’s people. He is almost 11 years old now. Kim, God answered my prayer. His story sounds much like yours. I pulled up the FBA service this past Sunday and let him hear you play. He was riveted to the piece. As if each note was being stored into his being. When he plays it’s as if he is one with the music. God truly answered your prayer and ours. Thank you for your testimony. To God be the Glory!

I can testify, the gift is real. It happened to me when I was 14. I was frustrated, I wanted to play hymns and praise songs, but I was stuck learning all the bach, mozart, bethoven, and such, which helped me with the technique but didn't give me any satisfaction. I Quit practicing for two weeks and prayed for 2 weeks to see if God's will was to enable my fingers to play for Him and Him Alone. It Happened. I started playing songs I've never played before, Hymns, Praise songs, etc. I even quit music School for good. Just Practice and Praise, for the Lord honors hard work done for His Kingom. Praise His Name!!

7years back, I used to listen to your songs. However, I was drived into the outer world, searching happiness through friends,party etc,trying to fill my empty heart. But I gotta get to Jesus and he'll fill my cub. He was my last option but the best. Now that I've returned, listening to your family's performances and praises, I am truly filled with joy.
