The only one treated with any normality was that bloody 'Kids' song which actually didn't deserve its placing when you conisder evrything that followed-single or not-is so much better and had Top 5 written all over it-and each album carries at least 4-5 No.1's and the 3 career best albums from '82, '83 qnd '84 ina perfect hatrick of albums contain 6. There's also a large amount of No.1 hits from her 80s non-album collection (up to 18 songs make that pile up now, hopefully we'll get that last locked away "Another Step" era track 'That's The Mood I'm In' one day.

@@catrionastokes1001 'Never Felt So Alive' was the killer song of 1993 but of course it was left as a B-side in just another stunning Wilde/managment/label misjudgement. Do well, that's different. Doesn't matter. Even in the 80s her singles were treated badly, WHEN she was given enough singles to even release. In the 90s, people like Alison Moyet, Cyndi Lauper and others were charting lousily with singles too. This IS a dance single so no reason not to do well than any other. People are stupid, but this still continued her unstoppable Top 75 entry streak, whereas people like Lauper, Moyet, Chrissie Hynde, Sheena Easton, Prefab Sprout, Aztec Camera, Level 42, Talking Heads, Paul Young and others had been missing the Top 75 for a while.

Like virtually EVERYTHING that she did that did or didn't get a release then! What do you epect from a sexist but also slagdonna/minogue/lennox/houston/carey/dion/boyband/rap loving shitty country I'm embarrassed and aggravated to be part of!

@@catrionastokes1001 Cyndi Lauper only has that song to trade on, so that's why she used it, but we didn't need it a second time around, yet she knew a new song wouldn't do anything to promote a hits collection. Minogue shouldn't even be mentioned, she's not an 80s girl, she's a puppet who's PART of a group called Stock/Aiken/Waterman. Actually more 80s acts moved brilliantly or competently into the 90s then you think. But the likes of Kirsty MacColl, Cock Robin, Voice Of The Beehive, Sandra, Claudia Brucken, Camouflage, Real Life and Alphaville are generally ignored by the main media, despite having excellent singles like 'Hiroshima' (Sandra), 'Straighter Line' (Cock Robin), 'Monsters And Angels' (Voice Of The Beehive), 'Walking Down Madison' (Kirsty MacColl) to chart properly in a normal world. Kim herself had her "Love Moves" and "Love Is" singles that continued her success, but I guess it depends how much you love a person. After this song, I was waiting around to hear from her and by late summer 1995 she came back with 'Breakin' Away', which did better than this and preceded her soulful 'Now & Forever" album, released in December of that year. The further singles 'This I Swear' and 'Heaven' followed after Christmas in Feb as double-A side, but only certain radio stations would bother, and as music had gone to shit by that time with everyone banging on about crap, it's hard to continue to get support. She released another 70s cover-'Shame' end of 1996. Then things were even worse for a follow-up. The 1998 album was completed, but disallowed to be released once shit MCA were subsumed into shit Universal Records. It's still unreleased to this day and Kim won't bother with it. Duran Duran, as usual, do stand out, but their first lot for that new decade was 'Violence Of Summer (Love's Taking Over)' followed by 'Serious' and 'Liberty over the late summer to the end of 1990. They were great,undervalued songs. It is true that 'Ordinary World' is amazing, and am so glad to hear you mention them instead of certain other groups people mention instead. But too many singers on their own were in the 90s anyway-utter crap like Pariah Carey, Sheryl Crow, Gabrielle etc. It wasn't as many as it was, but difference was more women allowed through then ever before, only now they were as shit as the boybands, girlband barbies, knock-off Beatles wannabees and rap that suffocated the world from then-on.

So everyone who ever has had hits is obviously good as "people bought their records". So therefore everything that flops is obviously rubbish. Of course, why did I never get that. Leaving S/A/W in a desperate attempt to move with the times (1994-2004) gave her her best run of songs you could actually like and weren't embarrassing, but they are still nothing special. She simply sums up the most puzzling thing about the UK-how they'll keep accepting something interchangably unimportant like her, yet drop others in 5 minutes! Don't see how Lauper's biggest song being redone to try and get her compilation into the charts high had anything to do with suiting the market. Her last 2 albums flopped dreadfully, so it was simply expected, but still unwelcome. And all it did was remind us she was past it as her next album continued the decline. The 90s was for Kim, though she sadly did very little of the 80s sparkers, it was all love/soul stuff, one of the pervading minues of the 90s, but she was still there and still selling, and European success continued unabated. She wasn't beaten by anything, the music world had gone crap. She did her soul album to respect, and then the first baby got in the way of the 1998 album, which an arsehole who worked on it said it couldn't be released without his permission. It was never given. She was never going to fight for that album as (a) she cares little about her own stuff, hence her live shows only ever feature the same few songs she always does and (b) who fights a legal battle with two tiny children to bring up? Just one thing, though. You say that today's music is much worse than the 90s! Well, that's a given, but also makes no sense. How can it be. If it's selling, as you say, and "lots of people bought it" and these losers are having "successful careers" that we can't knock it right? Isn't that what you just said about Minogue and S/A/W. Of course people bought all that shit. In 1988 a real dumbing down on the music world had begun. Madonna and Waterman, well done you, you're both to blame.

Mais bien sûr qu'elle (re)chante. Elle a d'ailleurs (ré)enregistré 4-5 nouveaux albums ces quelques dernières années. Puis elle effectue des tournées. Mais le style de musique n'est plus vraiment le même que ses albums à succès. Puis physiquement, elle n'est malheureusement plus aussi fine et sexy que par le passé. Néanmoins, elle reste une chanteuse de qualité.
