Wireless microphones tend to be expensive pieces of equipment but how do the cheaper variations of wireless microphone systems compare? Kimafun have got a solution which is of a low price which comes with both a lavalier and a headset microphone, but how does it actually sound? Maybe just try a deadcat instead of the foam over the lav mic - i would imagine you will get better sound and much less wind noise.

Yeah i think you're right. I didn't buy one to try for the review because i wanted to show what the microphone sounds like with what you get in the kit. I think i've actually got a deadcat laying around somewhere, i'll give it a go :)

good review - May I suggest don't put backgroud music while making the test because if there were some back noise we don't get to know - it is 3 years I suggest Kimafun to put a female jack so we can use avery lavalier mic we prefear and now they have done at last - I wonder why chineese engenners need always to be suggested solutions and they don't find from the very moment they put it on the market .

Thanks for that Tony. I remember saying to my wife when i released the video that i shouldn't have had the background music in there when i was testing it. I'll remember to not do that on future microphone videos :)

Thank you for putting up this review for us ! I happen to have just received this mic today. I got it as a lavalier microphone, for fitness classes on Zoom. When I attach it to the blouse / top (a few cm away from the mouth of the instructor), the sound volume is extremely low :( I did a separate test, even made a Loom recording to show to the seller on Aliexpress. I testes this lavalier mic from Kimafun vs Mpow bluetooth hedphones versus laptop's integrated mic and only the Kimafun lavalier has unintelligibly low volume :( We checked to make sure everything related to mic volume is set to max (the Kimafun trasmitter is set to max, mic input level in Windows 10 is set to max). As it is now, sadly, it doesn't seem to be usable. Not for live sessions at least. Maybe for post processing.

Hello Mihaela, thank you for the comment. I don't remember having an issue with regards to volume on it, i would look at returning it to the seller and either getting yourself a replacement from them or try something different. We've actually still got this microphone so i will have another play around with it and see what the audio levels are like for us.

@@Andyhhhdx I appreciate your getting back to me ! I contacted Kimafun Official Store through Aliexpress to discuss this issue with them. They seem quite popular, so I'm sure they will do their best to solve this. But given that it's Chinese New Year now, no chance to get a reply in the next few days, of course :) It's nice to get the reassurance from you that you didn't have this issue in your tests! I wasn't sure if this was to be expected from a low cost wifi mic, but now I'm more inclined to think it's a defect of this particular item and should be solved if replaced. Thank you !

Good review again, mate. One point, the 6.35 mm adapter SHOULD be 1/4 inch adapter. It's for us old 'uns that are used to making connections from old Imperial dimensions to Metric dimensions. The dropouts caused by the wind were certainly off-putting, but I've a strong suspicion that it wasn't just the wind that was causing it. Using 2.4GHz MAY be the cause as it's MORE LIKELY to receive interruptions from other close-by devices.

yeah I think you're right. it does a good job when indoors. struggles a little when outside and there is a bit of distance. maybe there's better wind filters out there that could be put on the end to eliminate more of the wind. not bad for the price.

This sounds like it has an auto noise gate that cuts the sound if there is a lot of background. Unfortunately, it also causes vocal dropouts or warbles in the voice. Wish these companies would just leave the noise gate out. But perhaps these cheap wireless lavs have too much internal background so the auto noise gate helps to remove internal background hiss. Like you said, it does sound decent inside the house though. I would suggest you leave out the background music/piano music when you do these microphone reviews. If I am trying to listen for the mic background noise, the music covers it up and takes away from the review.

You're absolutely right and especially about the background music, it's a serious rookie error on my part and i stopped putting the background music on microphone reviews. I remember watching the video once it was uploaded and realised how dumb it was the have the music playing. I've learnt the errors of my ways though :) Thanks

That's actually a very good question but i didn't have an adaptor to test this out. I would presume that it wouldn't work but i'm not 100% sure.

Hello buddy :) Yes it should be fine. I've used it hooked up to my DSLR camera and it performed well. Just make sure you've got the microphone clipped somewhere that you're not going to knock it. I could do with some of your live workout videos, i'm well out of shape at the minute :)

@@theroadgymexpress3899 Luckily i've still got this here so i'm just double checking it for you and yes it works fine in computers and phones. There is a Y splitter cable in the box that you connect to your phone and the receiver goes into that Y splitter.

I'm a fitness instructor. I have this mic but I have the headset only no lavalier. It works great with my ion pathfinder but it doesnt work for my zoom classes becuz when I plug it in to the mic receiver / aux on the computer the class can't hear the music . I need to keep playing with it but thats the biggest disappointment. The mic works great in a regular classroom setting . Bottom line- Great mic for inexpensive price.

I agree it's a really good mic for the price. Out of curiosity what kind of fitness classes do you do? I was part of a spin class once and I never went back lol.

My generic 2.4g wireless lav mic is a good one. Better than my Boya BY WM4 Wireless Lavalier mic. It looks almost the same as kimafun

@@Andyhhhdx it's from China, I ordered it from Lazada. But not anymore. Lazada stopped selling stuff that comes from China as of now maybe due to travel ban. Boya BY WM4 Wireless Lavaliere Mic produces annoying hissing and buzzing

ahhh ok. I've got a few microphones that i use now. I've got a cabled Paladou lavalier microphone that was cheap and performs really well. The cable can get in the way though which is why i've been messing about with a few wireless lavalier microphones. I don't recall having hissing on the Paladou microphone, maybe i should get it out and test it again :)

I don't like the idea of plugging the receiver directly into my £1000 camera. It would be better with a short flexible lead so the camera input wasn't at risk.

Totally agree Howard. It's not too bad if you have a cheap camera but if you've spent £1000 on a camera then you don't want to damage that microphone jack on there. You could get a converter cable for it but would have liked to have seen one in the box with the product.

Sounds good Howard. I keep it in my camera bag just in case i need to do some recording whilst i'm out and about. Same as you, it is only used for short range stuff.
