The only weapon I saw from this clip that I thought fit in the Pacific Rim Universe was the mortar that split into a bunch of smaller bombs as if that is something that is launched from the shoulder it would be really useful for charging Kaiju at around mid range

Besides, the fact that they aren't integrated to the Jaegers, and instead are like normal weapons that you pick up, it's not only dumber imo, but make the Jaegers feel more like human beings, rather than robots, machines

@@detritus3676 and where these two jaegers are is also a landmass that's frozen over. Let's also not forget godzilla came through the ice confirming some sheets of the ice had water underneath it. Here in uprising right before the fight starts the surface is mostly a solid surface. It's when the two jaegers fall into that canyon and burst through it that's when they are on ice that's essentially above water. Both fights involve large objects fighting over solid icy landmass and ice that's simply over water. My point is godzilla and ghidorah are heavier and yet fans don't complain about that

It looks really good, if you paused it. It really looks like a game cutscene sometimes, and that's a compliment to newer consoles. The CGI here is better than Godzilla vs Kong (2021) tho and I do enjoy this film but I don't think it's a good film and I think it's worse than the first one

Tbh I can explain from what I’ve analyzed: not only is the camera size inconsistent, but also the scale. There’s a shot earlier in the film where Gipsy is holding the helicopter pad, and he humans are smaller than the bottom part of his foot. But in other shots the humans are up to the upper part, even sometimes the ankle. It’s not even perspective, it’s just inconsistency. And the camera is just weird. Sometimes it’s as big as a Jaeger hand, and other times it’s as big as a normal camera. Those things are what really messes up the scale, and it’s almost amateur with how badly they messed it up. The first film perfectly captured how big they were. Hell, a lot of people say the loss of weight of the Jaegers is the problem, but it’s definitely not as big as those other two points.

They do it in the first movie aswell. We always talk, especially in Combat when you're fighting for your lives. So it makes sense.

Plus, what jaeger pilots have is synergy, not telepathy. None of the other pilots can pilot their jaegers without speaking. Someone always initiates an action, usually the equivalent of the jaeger's captain.

Eh no. They go though their own memories and bond. Not talk during their fights lol. Maybe you will give us the example where Yancy said to Raleigh; "I'm in your head. I know" "then let's go fishing". Well you're not wrong but they're exactly communicating with each other. Yancy knew that raleigh wasn't gonna let those fishermen die because As his brother, he knew about who Raleigh really is. Not because they're communicating inside their brain. That's why there's this called drift compatibility.

I had a conversation with my military buff buddy and that is exactly the conclusion we reached at. With all the tech and resources went into building the jaegers it'd be a much effective solutions to just build rail guns and other long distance large destruction power weapons and vaporize the kaijus from very far away, and suffer from much less loss and damages.

I'd say the actors were pretty good working with what they were given. The script and dialogue itself is what was actually underwhelming unfortunately. Had they been given better screenwriting and maybe replace the pilot teens with actual jaeger pilot veterans then the characters would have been much, much more likeable.

If I may add, 10 years may have passed. But that may not be enough reason to justify the fact that they managed to mass produce Jaegers that fast. Specially how expensive it could cost to bounce back from the damages the previous Kaiju's caused. Could be another plot hole. But it's a dumb mecha vs monster movie anyway. Maybe additional exposition was irrelevant so they didn't bother explain.

and they did not care if they spilled the blood of the kaiju and not burn the body to prevent blood spilling out. its said the blood is toxic to humans. and why are they using sharp weapons and not blunt or plasma weapons.(i know one or two of them have blunt or plasma type only weapons with some guns)

No it wouldn't. The first movie had the jaegers most fast but you still felt the weight behind them. This movie made them so fast to the point you felt zero weight behind them thus the believability del toro added to the first film was lost in the second one.

It would have made sense actually since they would pretty much have zero reason to keep building new jeagers after the blew up the breach and as we saw in Pacific Rim, striker eureka despite being noticeably faster than the rest of the jeagers still had a sense of weight and power behind it

Yeah, the people who like this movie like it for the exact opposite of the original. In the original, you could actually imagine those jaegers being possible with enough technological development. With this one, anyone with an IQ in the double digits can tell jaegers like this would be impossible to make. The first felt grounded, this one feels like a shitty live action remake of evangelion. Even if people do like this style of jaeger, it is undeniable that this movie took a dump over everything the first established, like the original jaeger style, the kaiju identities, and Mako ( fuck the writers for killing her off ).
