Fun facts, ferrari brought no upgrades that year, ferrari team was surprised he still finished 3rd I standings and kimi left coz santander wanted Spanish drover so the team decided to focus on the 2010 car instead

Santander or not, signing Alonso was 100% the right move. Kimi was already past his best by this time while Alonso... well let's say Alonso is probably better at 42 than Kimi was at 30.

@@derekringer7143 What are you talking about??? 2009 is quite probably Kimi's greatest season when it comes to deliver with a mop of a car, I would say above 2007. Either way, I guess Ferrari paid the price of not respecting the contract for 2010 and have not won a damn for almost two decades. If only Jean Todt was still around in that garage instead of the idiot that is Domenicalli.

@@renzo0227 Massa was beating him before his injury in 2009, and while Massa was decent before that happened, he never was in the same category of Alonso, Schumacher or Kimi at his prime. Kimi did ok in 2009, he was flattered by terrible teammates which did not adapt to the car at all. Ferrari paid the price, sure, because Kimi would've totally won the 2010 title. Red Bull would've destroyed everyone that year had it not been for Alonso and Hamilton.

They made upgrades on Kimis' car without telling him, they didn't cooperate with him or listen to his feedback. Kimi > Alonso >>>>>>>>>>>>> Massa. Stop spewing stupid shit without doing a little bit of research. Kimi would have walked the title if Ferrari supported him in 2008.

Who else watches this November 2023 and also thinks that F1 is not the same after Kimi left. He was the last genuine character in F1. Well Alonso is pretty cool too... the last old school driver left. The rest are just charisma free teenyboppers. LOL.

@@qwertyuwow the tyres were a big issue too. Bridgestone tyres provided less front end grip And pirelli tyres are even harder so it was never going to help with his driving style

why not? it was allowed then to do it on the first lap to avoid crashes into T1. It did not give any advantage to the driver since that side of the track was very dirty without any grip

@@bsaar9108 nope. He didn’t. Besides, no one could use the runoff area at turn 1 prior to 2007. Simply because, it didn’t exist. However, Kimi was pushed off to the run-off area in 2008.
