These painted macarons are just about the prettiest cakes I've ever seen!! imagine how gorgeous they'd look at a high tea, especially a pink high tea for breast cancer!! You could ( if artistic like naomi) paint a little pink ribbon symbol on there also? I love these macarons because they are soo creative & original!! Soo much better than just adding food colouring into the batter!! Well done Naomi!! 👍🏻👏🌸🍃

Thank you! I've wrestled with different meringues a time or two; but seeing the density of the macaroon batter was a great tip for me. I think you could give a few more details, like why you used the Sil-pat and options for those who don't own any.

Sindhu D I'm pretty sure there is no such thing. Egg whites are essential for making the meringue part of a macaron

Sindhu D I don't know what its called agufaba? I think? But its basically just chickpea water. It amazingly makes a meringue that tastes and looks no different from egg whites. I've seen vegan macaron videos and this works out fine. Just strain some chickpea water from a can, measure it out to scale it should be the same as the reg recipe, add the sugar and there's your meringue!

Saileach while that may be true, she didn't elaborate on resting, or how to make the meringue. Do you add the sugar in all at once? Can you used prepared egg whites? Do you sift the flour once? Because I heard you have to do it multiple times.

You know, art is not how you get it, if its precise or what, you can tell if you're doing good, and that's how you make them, by efforts. even there are instructions, you need experience.
