Wait I am confused. Was Pellinore really the Black Knight in the Arthurian legend(s) or is it some new version of the story? I always thought that the Black Knight was more of a mysterious figure, or just a persona the knights take upon when removing their heradly and going to do something dishonorable so nobody can recognize them.

He refers to the land in this story as England but England was the name of a much later kingdom of Arthurs enemy the Saxons. It would be more appropriate to use the words "Britain" or Wales but not England.

What are your sources? No one really knows Lancelot's parents. Pelenore is not Percival's father. Lancelot is bc another court lady made herself appear as Guenivere so they would bang. And if Lancelot was yet to be born, how would he gain the love of the similarly aged Guenivere?

This sounds awful familiar. It would be fascinating to learn what the original Welsh iteration of this story was before the Anglo-saxons stole, rebranded and embellished it, or, if it does not have an origin in the original Welsh story, what Celtic, European, Asian, or other folklore was plagiarized and buried by the Anglo-saxons to integrate into this piece of Arthurian Mythos.
@tyrrant13742 жыл бұрын
Arthurian mythos is the best thing written by Englishmen until harry potter came along. Shakespeare work or Oscar Wilde(excluding Selfish Giant ) are terrible compared to it. Are the originals really that much better ?
@RidireOiche2 жыл бұрын
@@tyrrant1374 Refine something repeatedly, altering it with the times, over a long enough length of time, and it can impact people's perceptions of what is and is not excellent writing, it will be much more coherent and relevant than the source material. Like the bible? How many incarnations did that snorefest go through, up until the last rewrite a few hundred years ago. Before you went on the attack, I mentioned that I was curious about the stories before they were hijacked by the english. Everyone has the right to their own opinion, but Harry Potter being superior than anything is one that I find juvenile. If you appreciate british writers and J.K.Rowling's Wizarding World series, you might also enjoy the works of Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman, Philip Pullman, J.R.R. Tolkien, or Arthur Conan Doyle.
@tyrrant13742 жыл бұрын
@@RidireOicheIts true i am childish and is my opinion(which is the only perfect one), i didn't want to come out offensive writing isn't my forte. Mostly the comment was about of you read those old legends and if they are that good. Ps I didn't know Tolkien was british
