I believe Charles did truly care for Diana but they just weren't well matched. It became obvious to me he did care after watching videos of them early in their marriage. I must be one of only a handful of people in the World, who did not hold Camilla Parker-Bowles responsible for the break up of Charles & Diana's marriage. There was plenty of Guilt to go around & all 3 of them deserved a measure of it. I will say however, I was very impressed with the way she handled herself when it hit the fan so to speak. She was exceptionally discrete, both physically & intellectually, no sordid tattle tales to the Press. She did not try to gain support from the Public & I was absolutely disgusted how she & her 2 children were treated by the public. I heard some pretty bad stories, she was pelted with bread rolls in her local supermarket, that was bad enough, but then to hear how her children were ostracised at school & verbally abused by the Public, I couldn't believe it, this was totally out of order. Tom & Laura had about as much to do with their Mother's Affair as you or I did, how the hell Adults could abuse them I will never understand. My issues with Prince Charles, were 3 fold & to a certain extent still are. He told lies, not just in the Dembleby Programme, but both before & after with regards to his relationship with Camilla. Let's then look how he treated the woman who was supposedly the Love of his life & his Soul Mate. He stepped back & let her take all the abuse, including physical & verbal abuse directed at her children. He got away almost free, he may have been embarrassed but because of who he was, he didn't suffer the physical or verbal abuse that Camilla did & he did nothing whatsoever to protect her. So that's 2 issues & the 3rd is really only an indictment of a flaw in his Character, of which he has to be aware but does absolutely nothing to either mend it or limit its impact against those he claims to Love. That is his Selfish nature & determination to have what he wants, no matter how long he has to wait, what means he has to deploy & how much damage & suffering it causes those around him. I could write a book of examples, but I'll leave it to honest & fair minded people to make their own. I felt sorry for Camilla that she had to carry the can, not only for her own behaviour, but for Charles' as well. I felt dreadfully sorry for the way her children were treated & that was horrendously wrong. I started looking at the Public Camilla when they finally came out in Public, which I think was way past due. The Public wouldn't have liked it anyway, but what could they do? The Monarchy wouldn't have suffered with Queen Elizabeth still on the throne, though it may have impacted on Charles personally. Camilla started her Public Life well, she got my vote with her work of championing Reading amongst young people & improving literacy skills with Adults through reading. Cracks started to show around the Time William & Catherine married. By the Time The Queens Jubilee Weekend started, there were obvious problem between her & others within the Royal Family. Once HM Queen Elizabeth died, the True Colours were plain to see. I don't have any Respect for Charles or Camilla at all now. I feel they have devalued The Monarchy, rushing in & removing many of the things that made his Mother's Reign & those since 1910 great. I don't like his meddling in Politics & the International Political Arena he promotes & their messages he sends are downright Frightening. Airing his own Political Views must be coming close to impinging on The Constitutional Royalty Agreements. I know Charles' isn't the most clever tool in the Educational Box, but surely he must have learned about Photosynthesis, how it's vital to our well being & that of all Plant Life, including Trees & every other oxygen Breathing life form on the Planet. If you don't remember year 10-11 Science, let me refresh your Memory, Photosynthesis is the process whereby all Plants, Trees, Forests, shrubs & Bushes take the Carbon Monoxide that we all create just by breathing, using the Light from the Sun, it turns it into food, the by product from creating its own food & energy, is pure oxygen, which it releases back in to the atmosphere. Sooooo... Zero Carbon emissions = no Food source for Plants & Trees = They all die but even more Critical is the fact No Photosynthesis = no filtered Oxygen released back into the Atmosphere. It also means a few, very few People, with the ability & money to Survive, will survive through the breakdown of our atmosphere. So although we have the British Monarch as our head of State in this Country, I have no King or Queen. I've devoted over 40 years to learning about the British Monarchy & have been a Royalist/Monarchist all my life since I was old enough to understand the Concept, but not any more.
