That sort of sidling would not impress a judge at a local show. I wouldn't allow any of my Arabians to sidled around like that, not even the stallions.

@@Teddyclaws you can hardly compare this event with a local show. Your local show hardly has the amount of noice or amount of people . Your rider won't be 74 either that had several injuries including operation due to his love of horses. As a horse owner you also should know the most trained horse can get spooked.

@@ajb5834 funny how the horses of Charles' Royal Guard don't sidle and fidget as much as the King's own horse. Horses can and do stand still when the rider is able to tell them to. It looks like Charles' age has caught up with him.

Noble is King Charles' new charger for the Trooping of the Colour. SHE retired George, who has been put to pasture having served since 2009. Noble is a 7 yr old mare, gifted by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) to the King for his Coronation. She fulfills a long-standing tradition of gifted horses from the RCMP to a Monarch. This was her first Trooping of the Colour and there was no struggle considering for the most part His Majesty was able to use the customery military hold (4 reins held in one hand freeing the other for salutes or battle!). Considering the crowds, the noise and excitement I think horse and rider did exceptionally well. 😊

I read a long time back an article about these royal horses and the ones belonging to royal troops. It was so loving and funny. These black bunch in 4 legs are nothing but spoilt rotten canines. The officer who gave the report said 95% of these lovable creatures are addicted to military band music and they want to dance and prance the moment the band starts. Im now very sure that that's exactly what King's horse did here too. Thats why he refused groom's help and patted the horse to tell him to behave. According to what I read, the riders and their horses are joined by their hips and if a stranger rides one of these horses except his partner officer, the horse makes sure to give him the cold shoulder and do every rude thing he can think of.

Media must exaggerate everyting. While Nobel had participated in the Mounties Musical ride performances and had been accustomed to large crowds, nothing could have conditioned this beautiful black mare for the very long parade day, Trooping the Color. King Charlesof course is an expert rider, having played polo and been riding since his first child's pony. Add to that his love and gentleness not only with horses but all animals he was not alarmed with Noble making a few "moves". By the return to BP surely all the steeds and riders had a very full day. Charles has not had long to develop a relationship with Noble, the mare just having been presented recently. Pray horse and rider will enjoy many years together as his mother Queen Elizabeth enjoyed with Burmese (of the Mounties).
