Feared yet revered, King Cobras have been ancient religious icons in many parts of India and Southeast Asia. Sadly, over the years, many misconceptions have given rise to various conflict situations between people and these majestic reptiles.
Gowri Shankar, The Director of the Kalinga Centre for Rainforest Ecology in Agumbe, has been working towards conserving king cobras and various other species found in these rainforest ecosystems.
