Why would anyone from the North West of England object to the music. ?? I was born there left in 1960s to live in Africa. I worked at Platt Bros. Tweedale & Smalley. Started my working life at Ferranti Hollinwood. Hard Working people hard playing but also back just after the war took their religous beliefs seriously.The Walks thousands took part in most Northern Towns. Be they R.C. or other beliefs. Strong Community Spirit regardless of affiliations, two up , two down not an easy life but people cared and life long friendships made. Might looking back have been rough and hard but made up for by close family , decent manners and most people I grew up with made decent lives for themselves and their families.

not convinced the music fits....i worked in mill in Wigan as a youngster and I have a good memory of the conditions in the mill and i can tell you that the music would have not been well received on the floor also my father-in-law was a knocker upper, a well respected job. Pity he didn,t give me a day off
