Ralf and Clark (the ones in the stage with the camel with guns on it) are also characters in Metal Slug, and you can ride that camel in the games and blast anything that moves! The Metal Slug series is full of crazy things like that. It's a treasure to video games.

Ángel or as she used to be called "Angel" (The silver haired girl with leather jacket and boots) is known among the KoF fans as "the hardest character to play as." Some of the more veteran fighting game players get a little thrown off by her playstyle. Even in KOF 15 she's the only character with a 1/5 rank in the Beginner Score. The thing about her outfit is that it made a lot less sense when she came out in KoF 2001 when she was part of an evil group called NESTS but in KoF 14 when she's alongside Ramón and King of Dinosaurs (originally named Tizoc) it may imply that she's a wrestler which the outfit makes a lot more sense. Even more so is that some of her moves in her kit pay homage to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's moves....

Dolores is a Malinese prophet and priestess straight from Africa and she is Kukri's adoptive mother. She is still young because she was originally dead, having saved Kukri's life in exchange for her own, and was brought back to life by a mysterious entity in the last game.

Ash is one of the hardest character to use in the entire game if you're trying to be good. His combos are absolutely crazy. Angel has him beat in that department though

Interesting story behind Krohnen reveal - at some point of history, main devs don't make others part of KOF. Some Korean devs add character K9999 who was literally reference to Tetsuo from anime Akira. Main devs don't like that character. He was blatant ripoff and that can be big issue with copyright. They never add him to next KOF games. But he was unique. So they create Nameless who has somehow identical style (But they don't add Nameless in KOF13-15). The stage with the gun camels and bearded prisoners is from the Metal Slug series, a run-n-gun game and one of SNK’s most well known series, where Ralf and Clark cameod in in later entries. For some reason there’s never been a Metal Slug rep in the KOF series. Maybe because of the guns, or maybe it’s not a fighting game. (Only exception is Psycho Soldier, where Athena is from)

I'm glad to see people outside of KOF reacting to the trailers even if they don't understand anything XD. KOF has a good story (or better than most fighting games) but they always ignore it and almost never make it clear what happened in the previous tournament and how the characters don't age XD . Iori and Kyo are 20 years old since 1994 XD and so with everyone.

Funnily enough, this game has an actual Draft mode in it. Player 1 picks first, then that character is blocked for Player 2, who picks 2nd and 3rd. Then player 1 picks 4th, and I forget how 5 and 6 are resolved. Basically it's to prevent mirror matches.

I played King of fighters 98 on Neo Geo at my young age by the way many characters of the KOF come from Fatal Fury too or Art of Fighting (old game).

they threw in subtle lore bits here with the little interactions... some of those characters formerly were on opposing teams or fought together during the previous games, many of them are even related to each other (siblings, significant others, even parents) oh and they'll be introducing more teams in the coming months as dlc

Now KoF15 is going to be my first KoF so I might pick based on feel alone Yuri, Blue Mary and King as my main team but when that time comes I will make my final decision about what characters I want to play.

Fun fact about Yuri the girl with the bicycle kicks, she is SNK response to Dan (the guy in pink) from Street Fighter. While Dan is bad because he didn’t learn the techniques correctly, She learn them by seeing them once and has copy moves from KOF and Street Fighter characters.

Ahhh, KoF, always shadowed by Street Fighter. SNK really outdone themselves with this latest entry. So much better looking than the sim models from 14. Plus they did "the human weapon" Andy Bogard right in this one. To tell you a little backstory for this game, Antonov hosted KoF last game. Instead of being a villian, like previous holders of this tournament, he actually just wanted a great tournament of KoF. Until Verse came along and tried to destroy the world. A team battles Verse to save everyone. Due to Verse's death, canonically dead characters come back to life. Team Orochi, all dead but now alive. Ash, dead. I seriously can't wait to play this game. Also the teams they're in, there's a reason and some story to it. Team Hero, Benimaru is usually in a team with Kyo (Team Japan) but was asked to watch over Shun'ei and Meitenkun. Team Super Heroine, Athena unexpectedly joined forces with Yuri and Mai, this sort of team up is the first for her. She's usually in Team Psycho Soilders with her master Chin and teammate Sei. Yuri and Mai have been in the Women's Team with King, but King was invited by Yuri's brother Ryo to join team Art of Fighting. So these team ups aren't random, and I love that (also if you go to the KoF website, the characters have interviews. Currently Kula had a fight with K' and joined this KoF to beat up K' and make him apologize. It just adds more personalities to these characters.) Kyo, K', Ash, and Shun'ei are all protagonists of this series. Shun'ei, right now, is the main protagonist and this is his arc/saga. Hope you check out more KoF as this is a long and full of lore series starting from '94. Some entries are noncanon to the story,, such as 2002, so keep an eye out. Synopsis: Bethany chooses based on how well they no their craft. Ken chooses based how cool they look and how they fight.

Glad to see new blood coming into this game. We KoF fans may be a bit of tryhards but that's because we love these games. I hope you like the game.

I really like how you guys kinda reviewed the l4d trailers. Im a gamer, personally i would love to recommend to just only watching trailers and shoot some jokes, try the game too because it is a whole kind of universe than the trailers. The gameplay itself has all the power and the feeling of being a god.

I don't think it applies to this series but a lot of problems with jiggy physics is typically they will put in a modifier that makes the breast bounce according to how much weight you apply to them (trying to simplify without throwing a ton of 3D terms around so sorry if it's confusing). It's the same thing with cloth. If you look at a game like Tekken, they give things like capes so much weight and let a gravity setting do the rest. The problem is, to do that right you need to apply the weight in a very complex way. Like breast are not a uniformed free-floating object like a water balloon as you said, so to get them to look right you need to put in a huge amount of work which kind of defats the point of using a tool like that in the first place. With the cape example, in Tekken, that thing flops around all over the place and looks like it's under water, same problem. Games like Guilty Gear and KOF instead usually hand animates all their stuff with is something which is really cool although it comes with the downside of not having access to all the wacky character customization options that a game like Tekken has. Like because you have to hand animate everything you can just give the player a bunch of hats and shirts and say go nuts. On animation though, Clark and Ralf's stage is from Metal Slug which was one of the most beautifully animated sprite-based platformers I have ever seen. Would have said the same thing about KOF15 for fighting games if Strive didn't come out just before it was announced. But Arcsystem Works lost their minds lately with the animation.

Some of these characters are using pseudonyms, like Blue Mary whose real name is Mary Ryan. Krohnen's full alias is Krohnen McDougall (lol). Whip's real name is Seirah. While King of Dinosaurs is the heel persona of a character named Tizoc. Since vengeance isn't really in line with being a face in wrestling, he turned heel. He became the first character who participated in KOF under two different names since he first appeared as King of Dinosaurs in 14. Since KOF's fighting tournaments are team-based, some characters have collected more championships in canon than the rest because jumping teams is a thing. Benimaru has the most titles with 9. But he's no Tom Brady or Michael Jordan or Bill Russell, he's more like Robert Horry because he's never lead his own team to a championship. The recurring trend seen time and time again in this series is Benimaru jumping teams to support the new main guy (except for Ash saga in which he once teamed up with Elisabeth to win KOF XI) in each story arc after the Orochi saga (KOF 94-97), which explains his championship tally. He starts out as Kyo's teammate in each story arc, usually ending up winning the championship.

Yeah!!! KoF has always had a weird place in my heart because the characters I want to play the most as are always the ones I do the worst with.

Chizuru kagura appears for the first time on king of fighters 96

A good thing worth noting about this franchise is that while Kyo, Iori and Chizuru are considered "main characters", Benimaru is actually the character with the most canonical King of Fighters wins at a total with eight. Kyo and Daimon, Benimaru's usual partners, have only six wins, with Benimaru's other two coming from different teams. Kyo and Iori are huge enemies, while Iori believes he's destined to kill Kyo and Kyo really just wants Iori out of his life. Hilariously, Chizuru ends up having to force them to co-operate on multiple occassions. Iori is just a bit of an asshole, but he has a shockingly nice side and a fondness for cats. My favourite three characters to play are Iori, Ryo and Benimaru, while my three favourite characters in general are Iori, Meitenkun and King of Dinosaurs. Andy Bogard is a very interesting character, as he's a ninja... but his original stage in the Fatal Fury games was actually set in Italy, which explains the music choice. Yuri Sakazaki is Ryo's little sister. She was kidnapped in Art of Fighting, and her arcade mode endings often involve her trying to pair up her brother with King, to little effect. You may recognize that she pays an uncanny resemblnce to Street Fighter's Sakura. Terry was in Smash, no explanation needed. You may know him mostly for his hilarious Engrish. Yashiro, Chris and Shermie actually died in the King of Fighters 1997 tournament to resurrect Orochi who was sealed away by Team Sacred Treasures at the end of that game. No idea if them all coming back in KOFXV means they've had a change of heart or if they're still the same evil jerks as before. If I recall correctly, they were the only team in that game to have three unique themes. King is pretty awesome. If playing as Ryo in Art of Fighting 1 and knocking her out with Ryo's super, her shirt would actually get ripped off. Ryo was very embarassed about this. She is to Ryo what Blue Mary is to Terry and what Mai is to Andy. There's a looooot of tension. Mai was the girl infamously left out of the King of Fighters stage in Smash Bros, because she was deemed too sexy. Shermie definitely has a deceiving appearence. You wouldn't expect her to be a grappler, let alone someone who will absolutely rip your head off. Chris is the boy who got turned into Orochi at the end of King of Fighters '97. For that alone, he's the most deceivingly dangerous character perhaps in the entire franchise. Famously, he's literally just FOURTEEN. Ryo and Robert were originally a total knockoff of Ryu and Ken, but they evolved quite nicely into their own characters. Ryo is noticibly a "stoic goof" while Robert is a ladies' man. Leona was corrupted by Orochi in the earlier games, but she's actually a pretty nice person, although when fighting she shows absolutely no mercy. Ralf and Clark are pretty cool, and they're famously the only people who can make Leona smile. Ralf has an infamous super move called "Galactica Phantom", which does 80-90% of damage in same games and is actually an instant-kill in others. However, it's one of the hardest moves to land in fighting game history. Blue Mary is Terry Bogard's drinking buddy aaaaand absolutely nothing else. Totally. Famously, in Real Bout Fatal Fury, on the riverside stage, if you knocked her out of the ring in a very specific way, you'd see her bare breasts. I have no idea how that didn't get censored considering it was an arcade game rated teen. Ramon is a fun-loving luchador who has quite a bit of a goofy side. It's hard not to like him. King of Dinosaurs is actually Tizoc from the game "Garou: Mark of the Wolves". In storyline, he lost a big wrestling match, and so decided to turn 'heel'. However, he sucks at being a bad guy, because he still loves the crowd. Terry lampshades this in both KOF14 and 15, calling him Tizoc and making the poor guy flustered. Athena changes looks every game. She's weird, and has probably the most annoying voice clip in fighting game history with "PSYCHO BAAAAAALL". Ash is another character who died in a previous game and is somehow back. He was famously a giant jerk before his last moments where he made a sort of heroic sacrifice.

My favorite character from kof is Mai sharanui and it’s been a long time since I ever played kof. You guys should react to skullgirls 2nd encore I think you’ll like it. I’m kinda cheering up a bit but there’s still some sadness. Anyway loved the reaction xo
