Staggering how beautifully the United Kingdom has modernized parallel modern times. Some individuals in my country, the United States, do not realize the monarch is the head of state without governing powers and the Prime Minister and Parliament are the elected government. I do appreciate the continuity the Crown provides above the divisiveness of politics, the steadfastness through decades of tumultuous, often volatile, social, economic and political changes globally is a a testament to ten centuries of the monarchy evolving and serving. The Britain left improvements as nations demanded their independent including, infrastructure for government, schools, road ways railways, and hospital. In the United States we have high school courses in English literature, I still recall lines from Chaucer, Shakespeare, Thackery, Dickins and a host of others--Bronte, Hardy, Austin are still part of literature courses today. Often history courses ignore it was refusal for British colonists to have representation in the Parliament and tax upon tax imposed on the colonies, not George III, the led to revolt and separation from Britain. Nor is the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833-1834 released over 800,000 people from being slaves or unpaid work including Canada as well as Commonwealth Nations. The reparations from the Slavery Abolition Act was only paid off in 2015. Prince Albert was a public supporter of the Slavery Abolition Act saying first it is immoral to own another human. Our American Civil War resulted in an conservative estimate of losing 600,000 lives.

Study the UK Constitutional Monarchy and the Glorious Revolution as well as Magna Carta, and the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. Historical events revolutionised the British government and its monarchy into the system it has today and which it exported to many other nations it established. There are reasons why it is the way it is and why it survived and other monarchies did not. It is also worth looking at the things which people endured under kings who had a lot more power concentrated in their hands. It is not a perfect system, but it is a sytem that has gone though a lot of change in the last 1000 years and gave birth to many other governments as well.

@@BarrySuridge that would have been nice but no that's not what occurred. It was made for her 80th birthday. "Although completed in 2010, the coach did not arrive in London until March 2014 due to issues with funding. Buckingham Palace stated that Frecklington had completed the coach of his own initiative and that it was not an official state coach, although Frecklington stated that the coach was endorsed (but not commissioned) by Buckingham Palace. The coach was subsequently purchased by the Royal Collection Trust for an undisclosed sum, from a private donation, and is now part of the Royal Collection and can be officially put to use. I can't even begin to imagine how much it cost and for Buckingham Palace to want him to eat the cost is kind of stomach turning.

Unlike the Bishop of Rome, Charles is a titular head of The Church of England, He is not a bishop or a clergyman who preaches or claims to be what you said. The King does not position himself between God and his subjects when it comes to faith. He isn't the Pope. As a matter of fact, Charl3s supports all faith, not just Christianity.

Wrong. And it is not a tiara. It is a diadem. She is the one who is supposed to be wearing it as Queen. It was originally made for Georve IV, by the way. He wore it to his coronation in 1821, and so did Elizabeth II. In fact it is named after him.

Also, even though some tiaras are like that and can become necklaces, etc. that DOES NOT APPLY TO THIS DIADEM. It is NOT a tiara. Tiaras are only worn by women. This is a diadem that was made for George IV! What part of that do you not understand? Maybe you don't understand English well. The Diamond Diadem is not a tiara and was not made to become one. It is not what applies to one head adornment applies to all! Google the definition of diadem and tiara. It is not the same thing! Wrong. For security reasons the public are not permitted to stand near Parliament or at Buckingham Palace railings. When making comments one must deal with facts and not ill informed, incorrect assumptions. Also, it is important to point out that all of the polls in the UK indicate that the monarchy has a near 85% approval rating among the British public and the percent of people that actually want to remove the monarchy is tiny. Facts not fiction.

How can it be an hour and a half when I'm looking at live coverage of almost two and a half hours? What business is it of yours to declare what is and isn't work for people in their mid 70s?
