Looks like alot of people need an education in Military responsibility and duty. That guard has a duty and that sword is not only for decoration, they will defend if necessary( now they have armed police to assist). Stop treating them like a prop or something. Breaks my heart to see this.

I'm an American of English ancestry. I would love to visit the UK someday! And would particularly like to see these magnificent animals. I however, unlike the disrespectful, entitled, idiots in these videos, realize that these men & horses are NOT A PHOTO OP! THEY ARE ON GUARD DUTY & deserve the utmost RESPECT. Perhaps the signs need to say more than not to 'touch the reins'. DO NOT TOUCH THE HORSE; THEY ARE WORKING.

To be fair, the chains are in the wrong spot. If you don't want people under the arches, move the chain to the outside of the arch. Having them 3 feet further in than they should be just causes confusion for the tourists (who due to language barriers may not understand what they are doing wrong) and endless stress for the guards.

The police are MOD , Ministry of Defence police their role is security , antiterrorism and public safety they are not there to " guard " the guards who are trained soldiers and perfectly capable of looking after themselves !

To be fair to the average tourist it is a giant park for their amusement. The authorities can either put some military discipline into the mix or not, they have made a conscious decision not to, the tourist is not the problem.

These soldiers are on duty. Would you waltz into an American Army base and walk into restricted zones and get upset when you get yelled at or worse arrested? Would you get upset if the soldiers yelled at you for touching sensative equipment most people know not to touch? These guards have every right to tell ignorant tourists to get back and stay in line. They are in Brit country, respect EVERY LAST INCH of someone elses country, because you are JUST visiting.

"We" Brits do want it fixed. Unfortunately the local council of that borough of London is more interested in revenue than the dignity of our serving military. This arrangement used to work when people could regulate their own behaviour and act respectfully. The arrangement no longer works and needs to be updated.

@@salvo9718they’re not there to guard the premises, the armed police could do that easily without any need for horses. They’re there ceremonially to guard the monarch - and also to provide a tourist attraction.
