I couldn’t agree more with your comments. The guards and their horses should be given the respect they duly deserve as they are not there to be ridiculed and I have to say, more often than not, it’s adults not children being so disrespectful as I’ve seen many kids thanking the guards for allowing them to take pics etc something many adults could learn from.

Remove his privilege to be in that military facility. I have seen the police do it to a group of Jewish kids who were being obnoxious to the guards. That doesn't happen enough to the rude tourist.

Good to hear the guard yell “Leave” & see the 2 police show up right away. Nice to see a “ Let us help you leave, now!” moment! They should have kept doing it to that cackling “Karen” who was always turning up & standing next to the horse & guard, keeping people from seeing the horse & getting their picture taken. Stupid people let her take their children to touch the horse. They didn’t know her & the child could have been bitten or kicked! She annoyed every horse & the horses did not like her, but were careful of the children. Beautiful & wonderful animals !!!🙏🏼💕

From what I have seen of his actions in several videos he was being very suspicious, and from the other tourists he was being obnoxious to the Guard on duty. There is a limit and he was pushing that limit very hard, the guard does not call the Police in unless it has gone too far. And then to say it was the guard that did something wrong is taking it to the unbelievable level , it was you that was being the idiot, looking in windows trying to look into the guard room, leaning over chains when told not to and continually leaning into the arch way when told not to and you got busted. I totally agree especially with the large numbers of people who attend at Horseguards and how close the public can get to the guards as many tourists don’t even respect the personal space of the guards. Some kind of fence/barrier really ought to be erected to protect these guards who are doing a job protecting the Royal Households but the guards themselves need protecting. I couldn’t imagine going to work every day and being faced with that degree of hassle and I take my hat off to these young guards for the invaluable service they give to this country and we should never lose sight of this fact.

A fence? A panicked horse would soon deal with it and hurt itself while doing so. Also Whitehall is a public street in central London. You can’t fence off a part of the sidewalk/pavement. Londoners use it every day.

Add to that having to find out where Crown Land Ends and Council Land starts would cause even more chaos

The differences are mostly that in ant 'younger' country there is a clear distinction between 'Military Facility' and 'Tourist Attraction' here, in Britain, and in other parts of Europe they are somewhat mixed up, so, if the army and the Met Police are both in control, they tend to be a bit hesitant to come on heavy!

There should be zero tolerance now. Can you imagine other countries putting up with their soldiers being treated this way. The police came instantly when called, but if spotted people need to be moved on immediately, or arrested as appropriate. In Holland a guy like that could be apprehanded by the police for suspicious behaviour or causing a disturbence (or whatever they can think of within the law) and ordered to show his id. (In Holland having your id card or passport on you is mandatory). If he shows his id, no problem, and he could get away with a police warning which will go into the system and sent away. Unable or refusing to show an id is an arrestable offence so on go the handcuffs and he's off to the police station.

The troopers and their horses should not be subjected to this tourist crap day after day. Yes Britain needs tourism but but not at the expense of the militarie’s dignity. A minimum of a painted yellow box on the pavement is needed, signage saying “Don’t cross the line no petting of My Horse”. The tourist can still have their photos from the side or in front of the painted box. It would take some enforcing initially and would then be the norm. Remember the Guards used to guard on the pavement “outside Buckingham Palace”.

I appreciate the armed police are present to protect the military establishment and it's personnel. Perhaps they should get some volunteers, perhaps ex servicemen/women to assist the guards and be a friendly face to educate tourists and promote acceptable behaviour.

Wenn in den letzten Jahrzehnten um eine GRIPPEWELLE so viel Scheiße produziert worden wäre, wären die Menschen längst ausgestorben.... Ich bin 70 und habe ab und zu mal Grippe gehabt......aber solche Scheiße haben wir nicht veranstaltet. Wer kein Fieber hatte ...durfte sogar Arbeiten gehen und kleine Kinder mit Rotz ohne Fieber duften sogar in den Kindergarten. Meine Güte... solch ein Theater wegen der Rotz....
