No, it was only a week, and even if it was a full month... Doesn't it take 9 months for animal babies to be born? And don't people raise them until they are of a healthy adult level before eating? So... You know... Add on a few years to that... I don't think that a full month of fasting is gonna help for the 2-4 years to replenish the livestock supply.

wisdom and intelligence are not neccesarily the same. You can apply the tomato test here. It's intelligence to know that tomatoes are fruits not vegetables. It's wisdom to know that tomatoes still don't belong into a fruit salad (unless you are a very specific kind of pervert i guess ^^ ). The opposite of intelligence is stupidity, the opposite of wisdom is foolishness.
@wikipiiimp9420
@wikipiiimp9420 Жыл бұрын
@@tranquilthoughts7233 i would say that knowing that tomatoes are fruits is knowledge, not intelligence. Intelligence is the ability to solve problems, it use knwoledge. But big knowledge don't make big intelligence. Knowledge is simply aviable information that you learnt, intelligence is your ability to use it. Obviously intelligence need knowledge, but intelligence will make you gather knowledge faster and use it better. Both are linked to some extent, altrough they are different things. So knowing that tomatoes are a fruit is knowledge, being able to identify tomatoes and being able to identify and define fruit is intelligence. And wisdom is a specific kind of intelligence AND knowledge : it's the ability to take decisions that are good for you and/or society. Knowledge is just information about the world (including information about yourself). Intelligence is general problem solving, even useless and abstract problems. Wisdom is ability to solve problems and know things that are good for you and/or others. For examples : social & survival skills, morality, etc could count as wisdom. Which explains also why wistom come from real life experience as DM said, as wisdom is useful. For example being a Chess champion is intelligence, but not wisdom as chess is simply a game. Being able to avoid poisonous plants & mushrooms and only gather edible ones is wisdom as it may save you. Which make wisdom a subsed of knowledge and intelligence applied to real situation for the good of the individual or the group. Also : tomatoes are both fruits and vegetables technically. Because : Fruit mean a specific part of the plant related to genitalia, and tomato qualify as fruit, like apples or oranges. And : Vegetables in a broader sense means a plant that is edible directly, which include fruits. For example apples & oranges are also vegetables, they can enter the vegetarian diet, are plant food. Vegetables having a broader meaning (any edible plant part) and a stricter meaning in cooking (edible plants parts that are not sweet). Obviously plant based food that require heavy processing are not included as vegetables, as vegetables are plants that are directly edible, and not plants that require heavy transpormation (which is why wheat or sugarcane are not vegetables, despite the fact that bread and sugar are plant based) And there is also the dietetical meaning of vegetables, that include all the plants that are rich in water and poor in sugar, so the carbohydrates are excluded from them (potatoes & cereals entering the carbs category, but other edible plants, sweet or not, entering the vegetables category) as carbs unlike other plants have very specific charateristics that make them differnet (they are much more rich in sugar especially, as their name indicate) The thing with fruit is it's ambiguous because fruit both have a botanical meaning (part of a plant) and a cooking meaning (as you stated, fruits in conventional cooking fashion are this subset of vegetables that are sweet) So tomatoes, as they are not sweet unlike bananas, pear, cherry, melons, apples, oranges, blueberries, (and most fruits) etc Fell under the other vegetables categories that include all the rest : things like roots (carrots), bulbs (onions), leaves (cabbage), etc. But plenty of vegetables are also fruits (in the botanical meaning) : tomato, but eggplant too. But in the end, we can conclude that the classification of things are often dumb and not practical. As fruit & veggie have different meaning depending if you ask a biologist/botanist, a dietetician, a cook, etc.

"Solomon was the wisest man" Socrates: Hold my beer.
@wikipiiimp9420
@wikipiiimp9420 Жыл бұрын
Agree, Socrate actually teached some very important things that are still valuable today :) Like : "admitting your own ignorance is not weakness", it's actually a virtue, it's claiming to know what you don't know that is wrong" not only wrong to others, because you are claiming knowledge in aeras where you are ignorant, but also to yourself, as you are lying to yourself with your ignorance portrayed as knowledge. Which is a typical error that a lot of theists do : "i claim to have knowledge of god, therefore i know god !" Or that "clear definitions are essential to a good discussion and teaching", and that most people don't know what they are talking about, defining terms first is essential, if you don't it's just vacuous buzzwords. Which is a common error in political discourse (from both sides sadly), using complex words and not clearly defining what we are talking about, ex : politics, woke, capitalism, state, freedom, communism, socialist, liberalism, democracy, religion, progressivism, science, etc. are often words that are badly defined or sometimes even not at all.

Solomon < Socrates < Darkmatter 2525 (ordered by wisdom)
@wikipiiimp9420
@wikipiiimp9420 Жыл бұрын
@@romancatholic5526 Are you comparing the literral precursor of nearly all western and middle-eastern moral philosophy to some youtuber ? It's like if i was saying "Newton is a greater scientist than [some random physics professor]" Sure, it's true, but this have nothing to do with if "DM2525" is wise or not. It's just that he is probably a less importante figure in the history of moral wisdom compared to one of the greatest one of all western & middle eastern history. Funny how you don't even mention Jesus too for a Catholic, and prefer Socrates. Socrate is the type of moral philosopher that said that burial and religious beliefs were less important for morality than preservation of the life of actual living people, his moral philosophy is based on reasoning and not obedience to the rituals. But if it's surprising that you didn't mentionned Jesus, i would agree with you at least here : Jesus have nothing to do with wisdom, he was a mystic fanatic, when Socrates was a rational philosopher. But bringing Solomon, a character hat is not likely to even have existed, or that the record of the bible is accurate is beyond absurd. Socrate is one of the wisest man that we know of, as he literally invented some of the most important part of philosophy (western & middle eastern moral philosophy mainly, as Chinese, Indian & subsaharian African philosophies were different) Which have nothing to do with religion whatsoever. And i would argue that what DM2525 prone is closer to the socratic ideal of virtue compared to what Christianity prone. But i guess you didn't studied that much greek philosophy didn't you ? or philosophy in general... Conclusion : Socrate was a genius, DM2525 is smart, Solomon is a fictionnal character, Jesus was some cult leader that got strangely successful.

Dude, I remember like 10 or so years ago, I watched a video made by this channel when I was still a young, very devout Christian who would have preferred to die for Christ than to deny him. The video I watched from this channel was about if Adam and Eve hadn't eaten the fruit and I can't tell you how triggered it made me. I became so angry when I watched it that I began to pray for the makers of this channel and the viewers and asked God to forgive them. Nowadays, I'm an atheist, and I love this channel because it exposes how stupid the Bible truly is in very humorous ways.

For a while buying into every single sophist, philosophical theist argument like ontological, teleological, etc. Though in the end that rational part of my mind that I would always suppress won out. Guess I had a sense for rationality that even ‘faith’ couldn’t suppress. Dark matter really does have a talent for painting his arguments in short and concise comedic bits.

@@NeoVelocity Let's not forget that those Islamic advances in mathematics themselves would not be possible without the modern numeral system that was invented by the Hindu's in India. This is why it is sometimes referred to as the Hindu-Arabic Numeral System rather than just Arabic Numerals since European cultures now know a lot more about their history than we did when we first learned of the idea from our Arabic neighbours. Obviously back when European countries first encountered modern numerals it was from our Arabic neighbours and our knowledge of the distant East Asian cultures was limited and much of it learned by proxy. Later that began to change when European cultures started to use their advances in shipbuilding and maritime navigation to bypass the Silk Road and seek out the desirable valuable goods from the Far East directly. Naturally this in turn lead to far more being learned about those cultures and their histories and achievements as European mariners began bringing back reports from their interactions with those peoples.

Red Floyd yes it does address it. Jesus laid His life down. He could of walked away. He even said He could and He did a few times but He gave His life to fullfill the covnant. He took His own life. He took the punishment we deserved so that we wouldnt have to. He was sinnless and died the sinners death as a sacrifice to wash away our sins. you have to understand the parallel on how sins were delt with before Jesus. and He did it because the greatest love you can show someone is to lay down your life for them. so thats what He did. His life was for us and His death was for us. it was the most loving thing you can do for someone. and He did it all to have a relationship with us to clear the wall/sin that seperates us from God

I'm an Israeli and here we study the bible from 1st to 12th grade. Religious schools teach it as a religious piece ofcurse, but non - religious schools teach it as a piece of historical literature, and it is being critiqued alot. Many of the arguments that were risen in this video are actually being taught in Israeli schools! It's funny, one of the subjects on my last bible test was Kings 10! I just thought this information is interesting, so I decided to share it :)

Just like any person, you can start off well-meaning and sincere, but time and distraction can wear you down if you do not deliberately stay spiritually fresh, like staying in the word and spending time alone with God, listening and praying, like a real relationship or friendship or father/child thing. Solomon's downfall was sex. And the women he brought home had their idols.
@leeknox1089
@leeknox1089 6 жыл бұрын
...God invented sex, and he wrote an operator's manual to go along with it. Just like a car has a manual, which tells you which hole to put what kind of fluid (krass analogy). Wrong fluid will kill the engine and cost you dearly. God's love compels His desire to give us life-saving instructions. They are largely practical, and sometimes symbolic, but always rewarding. This world operates on laws of physics, and biological organisms operate on chemical, electrical, fluid dynamics, and other laws of nature. When God forbade sex with animals, He was protecting humankind from Venereal Diseases. VD cells contained in sheep, passed into the tissue of the human who raped the sheep and so got infected. If he obeyed those darn strict laws of God, he would not have infected himself with painful, contagious, and mood-killing disease.

Wisdom is not the same as knowledge. Wisdom is knowing how to use the information you have, so that it benefits others. Folly is the antithesis of wisdom. This is the fine art of using knowledge to harm others for personal gain. On your "science" thought, the Bible has been ahead of science ever since its inception. In the Bible's pages we discover the roundness of the earth when the "scientists" claimed it was flat. The Bible explains oceans as very mountainous, where scientists imagined it smooth and flat. The hydrologic cycle is first explained in the Bible. The flood of Noah's time explains why there are such large flat layers of SEDIMENTARY rock (definition: hard mud), where trees were buried standing up, and running through what scientists claim to be millions of years of process. Not possible to be so old. Research Mount St. Helens eruption for more evidence. The Bible states "the life is in the blood", and was the inspiration, or at least the logical precursor to blood transfusions, where prior too this wisdom, doctors were REMOVING blood from their victi...I mean patients. Doctors never used to wash their hands under running water between patients, unknowingly spreading disease. The Bible's cleanliness laws required RUNNING water, a practice medicine now uses. This is just the tip of the iceberg! I can give you pages of proofs that the Bible exposes real scientific truths centuries before mankind discovered them, and the Bible fits perfectly with the observed universe, and HONEST science. The scientific method actually supports the fact that the Bible is true and has been preserved flawless, its claims demonstrable through forensic science, biology, geography and astronomy, even the resurrection Of Christ! Jesus is real, the true God, and savior for us sinners bound to Hell.

Confused and Lost That's what happens when you compile a bunch of old religious texts from Jewish tradition and add it to the story of Jesus. It's all a big fucking mess.

The Spicy: have you considered that if all is natural, then there is no plan? It's up to us to take care of ourselves, and we're awfully slow at improving things. Would it be so terribly frightening to you to think that there's no big Santa Daddy Sky Fairy to make things all better when you screw up? No one is giving you gifts except what you earn and what comes by chance? Frightened? You oughta be.
