I've actually had the opportunity to ride both but I really do like TTD more but Kingda Ka is wayy scarier!

The Dragster and its twin coaster, Kingda Ka were built by Intamin. The company was hired by Cedar Fair to build the Dragster for 2003 and Six Flags hired Intamin to build Kingda Ka, named after the tiger 'Kingda Ka'

I have only ridden TTD. To someone who has ridden both let me ask you something. Without your bias opinion do you honestly feel the 8 mph difference and the 30 feet higher difference? Is it worth having to wear shoulder restraints?

I've rode both and personally I prefer top thrill dragster

I vote Top Thrill Dragster because: 1. It has lap bars, and they are a lot nicer compared to Over-The-Shoulder Restaints 2. It's less popular making the lines shorter 3. The view from the top is amazing compared to the dull parking lot 4. Cedar Point is about 10 minutes closer to me than Six Flags I hope you guys agree.

I like TTD better because it's in the middle and focal point of the park, also people can stand right beside the track and watch their friends on it. And on KK it's just in the back corner and no one can watch the people on the ride launch off.

Ka’s restraints were fine by me, plus it’s a dumb state law and nothing can be done about it.

I like TTD better cuz the view is awesome and it feels faster than it really is and I love the theme

Uber KillBuster which one has longer lines now that zumanjaro has opened? I heard zumanjaro and kingda ka cant run at the same time which slows loading time drastically. so POST ZUMANJARO, which has longer lines kk or ttd?

Top thrill dragster is my favorite ride and its smooth and I love lap bars it's also a very tight lap bet I feel safe cedar point is my life

Both look cool! I know kinda Ka is a higher drop but I would rather ride top thrill dragster just because it is a little shorter

My opinion is TTD because: Much Better Theming When you're in the front, you can see over lake erie The front of the car is literally a race car More comfortable restraints Better ride experience Duration is 2 seconds longer than Kingda ka And finally, TTD is a much smoother ride than Kingda Ka

Top thrill dragster is a copy of kingda ka because kingda ka was made first and the only difference is the 2nd drop but check the dates they were made and dragster is smaller and slower than kingda ka

Kingda Ka has my vote I rode dragster first and it was ok but when I got on Kingda Ka it was like dragster didn't matter anymore

I hate comparing the two. Both stratas have extremely similar layouts, and I'm not so sure that an extra airtime hill on Kingda Ka would make it a better coaster than Top Thrill Dragster. However, I do agree that Kingda Ka's OTSR's do suck though. They are very uncomfortable, somtimes even painful. If Kingda Ka had lapbars, it would be better than TTD. I hate to say it, but it's true. The airtime on it would be insane. But as of now, it's hard to compare the two, but I'll give the edge to TTD for having better restraints, better on-ride effects, and for being an overall smoother ride experience than Kingda Ka. I don't care about which coaster is taller or faster. All I care about is the ride experience, so please don't use that as a basis for your argument against me, of course, if you have one.

Ok People! This is fucking ridiculous! Everyone is saying that kingda ka is better just cause over head shoulder restraints are safer. Either lap bar and shoulder restraints are safe. Every single person that is picking KK over Dragster because of restraints or stats has either probably only ridden KK or neither. Every single GP person cant get over themselves and know that six flags doesn't have any idea of how they want to make their new coaster, they just plot it down. Cedar Fair is wise about their coasters and do not give over used names and clones to their parks. Mark my words -> ORIGINAL BEATS COPYCAT

A ride being "Taller and Faster" does not necessarily make it better. My vote goes to TTD because: 1. The theme is far superior to whatever Kingda Ka is supposed to be, 2. The line for TTD is in the middle of the coaster, allowing you to see every take-off, and the people's smiling faces as they come to a stop. 3. TTD allows you to watch the take-offs from stands. 4. TTD sounds like a rocket of some sort, adding to the effect. 5. Cedar Fair parks are waaaay more high quality than Six Flags parks; better maintained and kept cleaner. 6. The train for TTD is literally a freaking drag racing car. That's fucking cool. 7. TTD DOES NOT HAVE OTSR! BETTER RIDE EXPERIENCE! 8. Although the view on the top is only a second or two, it's pretty breathtaking.

I love the ttd it is the best coaster I have ever ridden, yes kings a Kia is taller but only by 36 feet, so it's faster but by 8 mph, I like how ttd is themed it is the closest you will ever get to drag racing and at the beginning I like the sound of how it seems like you are really riding in a drag racing car! I vote ttd forever go cedar point

As much as I love them I like king da ka a little better. Well I do have my reasons and everyone does. I love speed and hieght and that's why king da ka is a better roller coaster in my view and also lap bars don't make me feel safe the shoulder things may be a bit painful and I don't know the exact words but it made me feel safer.

I can’t believe 90% of the comment section is run by the GP and say that Kingda Ka is better just because it’s taller and faster. Who cares? What matters the most is the ride EXPERIENCE, not the stats. I can list many reasons why TTD is better (and no, Cedar Point is not my home park so I am not biased): 1. TTD has a lap bar only while Kingda Ka has over-the-shoulder restraints. That alone already improves the experience of TTD. And no, lap bars are not dangerous. They are just as safe as over-the-shoulder restraints. If lap bars weren’t safe, they wouldn’t be allowed on roller coasters. And BTW, nobody has ever fallen off TTD ever since it opened in 2003. 2. TTD is in an open space and Cedar Point even set up bleachers for people who want to watch the coaster launch. At Six Flags Great Adventure, the only place to watch the launch of Kingda Ka is when you’re waiting in line for the coaster, which is unfortunate because not everyone has the guts to ride the world’s tallest roller coaster. 3. TTD has a smoother launch. It may be a bit shaky if you sit closer to the back row, but if you’re on the back row of Kingda Ka, don’t get your hopes up for a smooth launch. 4. On Top Thrill Dragster, you get a fantastic view of Lake Erie and all of Cedar Point. And what do you see at the top of Kingda Ka? Some trees and a parking lot. I’d much rather get a view of Lake Erie. 5. Although both coasters are built by the same manufacturer (Intamin), Kingda Ka is still a copycat of TTD. Instead of maybe adding some more elements like some rapid banked turns and some more airtime hills (instead of just the one), Great Adventure decided to build a coaster with an almost identical layout. Way to go Six Flags, very creative! I hope everyone reading this comment agrees with me that TTD is the superior coaster.

If you say Kingda Ka copied Top Thrill Dragster, then your stupid. It's like saying all giga coasters copied millennium force or all 200 foot and over coasters copied magnum. There are going to be more strata coasters hopefully in the future, then this argument will be over. :)
