KH critical modes are as hard or harder than FromSoft games. I don’t say this with any bias - Sekiro is one of my favorite games ever. KH challenge modes are fucking brutal.

@@schmutzonya5659 i find kh2 harder just cause it’s so much faster. The pace of the combat is in your hands in the fromsoft games, you can create distance and think whenever you want for the most part. In this the enemies and bosses are on your ass whenever they wanna be.

Beating him on Critical KH1 is the highest of milestones involving him in the KH universe..Heck beating him in KH1 is hard period.

@@jonathanwilson1539 I use to think that but after fighting him in kh1 I’d say kh1 sephiroth is easier because of leaf bracer and cure in kh1. If you get hit u can just spam cure and you’ll be fine and it only costs one mana.

@@andyho4048 Finally someone that gets it. KH2 Sephiroth lvl 1 is way tougher than in KH1 on lvl 1 since you also can't get one shot there.

@@jR0xas Yeah, I HATED him in KH1 but having leaf bracer and mp rage basically made me invincible the entire time while I can't do that on my kh2 crit save when I fight him as soon as I finish space paranoids 2 (which opens sephiroth) that combo he has is deadly and he can just teleport right next to you and do it, he can do that in kh1 also but in kh2 thats a guaranteed death on no second chance and once more files. Fun.

@@andyho4048 just add ars arcanum spam, once more, second chance and elixirs into the mix and the kh1 fight becomes ez as cake (cannot use this for level 1 thou)

You don't have to but if you haven't played the final mix version before it's definitely nice to have. It's also nice having all the kh games besides ddd and 0.2 on one disc. There are of course issues in the port such as saving crashing etc but overall it's pretty fun to play especially with the non existent load times. I'd say if you already have a PS4 you might want to get it but it's up to you

OR you can buy Final Mix for PS2, really cheap.

Same here lol, when I beat him It felt too easy since I had ultama weapon as well so I felt extremely guilty like I should’ve been playing on proud mode or something

I was at... like, 50 or so, I want to say, on Easy, waaay back when. And I couldn't figure out the timing to blocking ANYTHING, so I'd gone through the whole game never blocking, just dodge-rolling. it was an experience.

when i fought him for the first time in standard mode i beat him on the fourth try without any difficulty

It took me 8 hours to defeat him on Critical Mode when I was level 47.

You can do the RC, it is just cooler not to; it is just to flex on him.

It does the same amount of damage as kingdom key on level 1. I have a video comparing keyblade damage on my channel that shows that.

In critical mode you get “finishing plus” and a few other abilities at level one, which allows you to pull off 2 finishers in quick succession. You get the ability in proud and lower in kh2 as well but you get them through level ups and not at the beginning of the game.

Critical Mode gives you 3 abilities to start with: No Experience, Finishing Plus, and MP Hastera.

Try to walk to the edge of the area and face the rest of it

@@blackghostcat The weakness of the extremely fast and teleporting opponents is just close quarters combat like 2D street brawl, apparently. Doing that will limit their movements so therefore, great strategy.

You can leave a separate save file for that :D modern problems require modern solutions

Try to replicate exactly what WillJV2 did on the video, but do use the RC because it's easier than timing the dodge roll, and you'll see how easy and satisfying that match turns out :)

Generally max out all of your drive form groth abilities. Dont use too many abilities as some are variations of other abilities. In kh2fm there are some new abilities added to soras arsenal such as aerial dive and a variation of sliding dash but you can guard as well as magbet burst. Dont use too many combo plus abilities as it may trigger his revenge value to counterattack. Explosion and guard break are very useful combo finishers. Dont use magnet burst but use aerial spiral. If your stuck on mp regen use 4 full bloom plus' but ultima is fine. I use decisive punpkin for combo boost. When sephy is low ho he goes berserk mode and does attacks faster so be on guard on top of his meteor shower. In order to dodge it double jump and glide the back of the arena or float down by just holding square whilst in the air but make sure you double jump unless if you want to get hit, alternatively you can dodge roll spam as you have a lot of invincibility frames.

Ever heard of bonus levels. Theres about 50-60 of them throughout the main game via story bosses. Have you even played kh2fm or even kh2 for that matter.

A little over a year after Kingdom Hearts 2 released, an updated version of it called Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix released exclusively in Japan. It added a whole bunch of new content, including new abilities. One of these new abilities was dodge roll. It wasn't until 2014 when "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix" released that Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix became available worldwide.

oh gotcha. I knew about Final Mix but never actually played them myself so I didnt know about the new abilities. Neat

Just try to dodge and block more. Remember to also take advantage of the invulnerability frames while doing certain moves, for example, you can stop mid-way while doing the Trinity Limit to use an item to recover health/MP (As you should know, you can't take damage whatsoever while doing a Limit move) You can also pause buffer (Aka, pause the game constantly) to see what move you are going to deal with to react accordingly far mor easily.

First, get Once More, Second Chance, and Leaf Bracer. These three abilities will save your life. Next, level up High Jump to level 3 and Aerial Dodge to level 3. With both of these, you can stop his Heartless Angel attack. Third, level up Dodge Roll to level 3 so you can roll away or dodge his attacks much easier. Quick Run is optional, your choice. Lastly, just memorize his attacks and you should be good.
