I think anyone who has played KH2 knows the feels of fighting this boss

There may be tougher boss fights, but this fight against Rinzler, who is actually Tron, was personal. Real personal.

Beautifil piece by Yoko. It really captures the sadness of Tron being turned into Rinzler and forced to fight his friend, Sora.

This boss battle is actually the only in the series against a Disney villain that gave me feels about merely fighting him. What with the whole Rinzler is Tron thing and all.

Me: *beats Rinzler after 150+ deaths on crit mode* "AH FINALLY I-" *Sees Tron reach for Sora's hand before falling.* Me: ". . . I-Imma go cry in a closet now."

The amount of emotion Yoko put into this fight track specifically is amazing.

You know you don't need to worry about Tron not coming back. The Tron in DDD was the original and while he had a bad fate he's not our Tron. We made friends with the copy Tron Ansem the Wise created and Copy Tron is still alive fine and dandy. In way you could see Ansem the Wise's actions of copying Tron gave him another chance at life in more ways than one. He created Copy Tron giving Tron a second chance at living without the whole "rinzler" chapter of his life ever happening. AND because of this Sora was able to meet and forge a bond with Copy Tron. That bond then created the power needed to save the Original Tron. So score two for both Ansem the Wise and Sora.

Actually when you beat Rinzler, you see a brief image of KH2 Grid Sora and after CLU attacks Sora, Tron comes back and defends Sora and when Sora shouts his name as he fell, Tron reached for Sora. So it's implied there that Tron DOES remember Sora, it's possible that the memories of the KH2 Tron came to Rinzler after Sora freed him, or awakened his heart.

It's enough to make a grown man cry.. ;l BUT NOT THIS MAN! GET BACK IN THERE TEAR!

There may never be a more personal Disney character boss fight. Bless Nomura in his times of visionary genius 👏🏾😭

No joke, this makes anything and everything epic. You could be watching Elmo while listening to this and it would feel epic.

love the battle between Rinzler (tron)...i love it how the floors will switch with the ceiling and when they change back from ceiling to ground, you see rinzler at a distance high above coming at you for an attack and dodge it before he hits you (well thats what i did)

I think it's kinda cool how rinzler's entire moveset comes from his moves in the movie.

I know that he's not the Tron we know in kh2 because it's like a parallel timeline but he's still Tron and seeing him reaching out for Sora upsets me

Thank you for making these extensions. It's a pleasure to hear that DDD has the great music I've come to expect from the series.

I wonder why this boss music feels emotional first time I heard it(DDD is my first KH game) until I played KH2,now I understand why,I guess people that already played KH2 will be hit with so much feels with much better,harder emotional impact during this boss fight

If those of you who ask how rinzler is somehow has memories of sora when he and tron from kh2 are different people think of it like this sora has memories of roxas before and after they rejoined because they are connected and that may just be the same for both trons even though they are 2 different people they are connected

This song absolutely NEEDS to be played during the fight between Isa and Lea in KH3.

Perhaps Rinzler simply acknowledged Sora as a potential friend. (Killer avatar, btw. Sir Raven is awesome)

This is totally my favorite world in this game, maybe the series in general. So many feels, so many of them. ;-;

that's very nice that they added this style to an English version game. I was highly angry when they left the Garden of Assemblage out of standard KH2

most of the flowmotion is optional, with it only being mandatory in a few instances It plays very similar to birth by sleep in that you set your commands in a list and when used you wait for them to recharge before they can be used again the main RPG side comes from the dream eater pets which can level up and improve to unlock new skills and abilities for sora/riku to use

The fight with Rinzler/Tron is one of the best Disney boss fights in the series. The fight felt like the actually fight in the movie with the arena turning upside down. It was also pretty sad after the fight too =(

That's exactly the point we're getting at. If The Grid was a Sleeping World that means it would've fallen into darkness so deep that the Heartless couldn't invade it. If Sora visited Space Paranoids, and saved it, the world wouldn't have fallen into darkness. The actual data was lost. The Grid became what was left of the actual data. Tron: Legacy began to conspire and Sora and Riku delved into the Dream Worlds.

While I really have no love for the Disney plot lines for the most part (they are pale shadows to the original :( ) I really enjoyed The Grid plot. They somehow recaptured and improved the story. It just... fit. Really well... And Sora is a beast dodger- I loved the cutscene before the boss fight.

rinzler is one of the only four Disney hero's you fight in the KH series birth by sleep you fight peter as terra after a misunderstanding in both kh1 and 2 you fight Hercules in some tournament matches in KH2 you fight the beast whos gone berserk because of xaldin and in dream drop distant you fight tron whos been reprogramed to become rinzler

Tron is so badass he gets his own battle theme as Rinzler.

rinzler the easiest/epicest disney boss in the whole game one minute you're walking on solid ground then you see rinzler running up the wall just as gravity changes it's so awesome!

The fact that tron was the villain came off as a pretty big shock considering Space paranoids was one of my favorite worlds in 2 and I never watched the movies.

There is a Japanese release of the game too. It came out March 29, 2012 and the soundtrack released April 18th.

I love refighting him when he's more difficult through the Link Portal, even if I cheese most of the fight by using Cera Terror's special link now because I get killed too easily otherwise. Yay invulnerability~

i like the music because it really shows how tron is turned into rinzler and is forced to fight his best friend Sora.

I guess a more accurate way to put it would be the real Hayner, Pence, and Olette vaguely thinking that Sora looked familiar, and feeling sad when he left. Roxas didn't know the real ones all that well but I guess his heart connected with theirs or something. I dunno.

Don't forget...Rinzler is the original Tron. The Tron that Sora met in KH2 was a copy.

yea that's what i did too. at the same time i was playing critical and i leveled up alot cuz i didn't want to take a chance. i also had high level commands cuz it was new game+

I think it's similar to Sora and Roxas, the Tron Sora knew was a copy, and he did have a heart, but they came from somewhere, just like how Roxas came from Sora, they're two different people, but they can feel each other.

He's saying that this boss theme is nothing like Rinzler's actual theme. He's absolutely right. Original > This.

Tron was a pain the first time i fought him, I had to grind a bit to even damage him

I believe that Sora's heart was "fixing" Tron's memories. You know? Like in Chain of Memories. The Traverse Town crew didn't know Sora, but they were glad to see him again. I believe that Tron was having the same effect as the four FF characters. CLU erased his memory and Sora was remembering for him. That or it was a complete and total dream.

My Heart's Descent (the actual track) is nice too

the first time i fought tron was hard, but then i realized you can spam block and counter attack to beat him easily :D

Well in 3d the original plan (or so I've heard) for the tron world would be having sora go through the past before tron was reprogrammed and have riku go through the world after tron was turned into rinzler so you never know.

And not to mention Riku is rising, whereas Sora is falling.

I would love it if Sora was pitted against his old friends, like Aladin, Jack Skelington/Sparrow, etc, due to some form of manipulation or turning like what happened to Rinzler/you know who, and each had a slight remix of this theme. That's just me though, an interesting idea for KH3 in my opinion.

Me too, i've lost 5 or 6 times (standard mode). The only one command that inflict the highest damage to him was Spark Dive

OH MY GOD! A KINGDOM HEARTS GAME THAT LETS YOU FIGHT THE BOSSES AFTER?! i am so desperate to beat the final boss so i can go back and fight rinzler again xD

Meant to put this in the other one but I didn't And like you said with Sora's heart remembering for him It is highly likely that this happened, and that the original Tron felt the same things that the copied Tron felt

This battle was really fun, but also really easy. Honestly, I found this battle to pose absolutely no challenge. Even in the Secret Portal version of this fight, there was no challenge at all. Which, of course, I dont really mind because it was still a fun battle. But really, just keep a Cure spell or two for insurance and block/counter all of his attacks. You can easily beat him without taking a point of damage. If you have Firaga Burst, the battle just becomes pathetically easy.

Raise Spirits to get the abilities "Slow Block" and "Stop Block". Then his time bullets don't mess you up as much. Of course, I never played Critical that far. You may need to get Volephant and Tyranto Rex for Once More and Second Chance.
