First optional boss that I will be doing. Vanitas Remnant is probably the most fun of all the optional bosses since you can actually skillfully beat him which I showed by not using commands. I'm not going to say that he's my favorite fight ever but he's definitely more enjoyable than bosses like mysterious figure imo.

No Items
No Shotlock
No D-Link

Most the commands are awful. Also the superbosses only have maybe 2 openings that last for 2 seconds, so you have to dodge roll for 10 minutes. Where as in kh2, you could create openings yourself if you knew how each boss operates.

@@cypher838yeah that's one thing I hate about the bbs bosses. Them being broken is bad enough but if you miss an opening, be prepared to spam dodge again lol

Weird, seems like VLS is the most balanced superboss for Terra compared to others.

Terra just has the worst mobility. Everytime i fight anything as him, i would try to block attacks whenever possible.

Once More and Second Chance saves the day. They’re super important on a Level 1 playthrough.

That defeats the whole purpose of level 1 in some ways. But these superbosses make it impossible to do without em, unfortunately

@@BravidunnoI always wondered why no heart would kill me before second chance even kicked in. I thought my game was messing up in me lol. I be at half health, would dodge to put down seeker mines, and he would just instantly KO me. Made fighting him annoying

Kudos to you, man I recently tried this fight during my 100% run as Terra and noped outta there after a few attempts lmao I did the strike raid cheese variant, where you go behind the big rock and witness his AI melt like chocolate in a pocket. A similar version exists for Ven where you spam Tornado instead, or so i've heard

Pretty sure you’d have more damage output without Chaos Ripper, since the game gives you a damage boost at level 1 with your initial Keyblade. Cool fight regardless!

Where did you hear that? Pretty sure keyblades make no difference at level 1. Thanks though.

In Critical Lv1 speedruns of this game, runners typically stay with their initial Keyblade because it provides a better damage output, especially with multi-hit moves. This definitely works with Aqua, so I don’t see why the boost wouldn’t carry over to Terra and Ventus

This happens because of the Zero EXP ability, I believe. It’s widely thought to be intentional, but the community isn’t sure. I’ve actually done this myself in Aqua speedruns, so I can confirm that it works.

Funny how we still have no explanation behind this, even Mysterious Figure got revealed already… Lingering *Will* and Lingering *Remnant* ….hmmm….

The Vanitas Remnant is an Unversed, so there's not really much hidden identity behind it. Unversed are created from negative emotion and this one was supposedly created from Vanitas's lingering emotions.

Except The Unversed can’t exist without Vanitas, as we’ve seen that they literally come from his body.

If you're using cure commands that's why . When you cure so does he. Use potions

Is it just me, or does anybody else think that Vanitas Remnant shouldn't speak? Just be a silent, husk like creature that BEHAVES like Vanitas, but with an inability to vocalize.

Maybe. But his voice lines kind of help in reacting quick enough to avoid his attacks.
