Unknown is pretty easy to loop but sadly he would be insane to pull off any other way on level 1 without taking damage. Party members mess up the loop so using a summon to get rid of them makes it possible.

Xemnas phasing through Sora is a good example of what a nobody was supposed to be. A being rejected by light and dark that doesn't fully exist, yet persists through sheer willpower. An incomplete being.

Without the added context, Xemnas is actually low-key terrifying here. Ominous, hooded, grim-reaper like figure with some unexplained connection to the games villian. Moveset and general appearance unlike anything you've seen before in the series. Moving through Sora like a ghost. Hell, the guy doesn't even speak. Just this eerie wind-like whisper.

It’s more accurate to say that it’s Xemnas collecting data for Vexen’s replicas; I.e. the Riku replica and Xion. At this point; Roxas already has existed and been around for several days when this fight canonically occurred. Roxas was created earlier at the moment Sora became a heartless to free Kairi’s heart from inside him. This fight takes place many days after that happened. So it’s really like Xemnas is gathering data to create Riku Replica and Xion; rather than to recruit Roxas. But I get what you were trying to say.

I'm just now realizing the inside joke of using gravity in the fight. Xemnas uses light sabers in his fight. Using gravity is like telling the player to " use the force" like in star wars. That shit is genius. Sora says "force" when he uses gravity.

I highly doubt Nomura was thinking about Star Wars at all while making KH. He says "force" because the gravity spell forces down against the ground, which is why the enemy takes damage in proportion to overall hp

When you realize this fight was more Star Wars than intended: - A man in a dark hood - Using red lightsabers - Shoots a lightning based attack that's difficult to break that saps away health - Can only be defeated by "The Chosen One" (Sora) - By using "The Force" (Gravity) Also a fun fact: the Rebel insignia can be seen on the ground in the overhead shot.

As painfully difficult this fight was as a casual player on proud mode it is extremely fun. I made the mistake of not making a separate save file to fight him whenever I wanted but it was still so much fun

this was so cathartic to watch after struggling with fighting him myself, I wasn't able to get the gravity loop to work consistently but it's a lack of practice on my end. Fighting a KH2 type enemy in KH1 is not fun since KH2 combat is so much faster paced than KH1

One of the things we can't really appreciate now is of how much an amazing tease this was back in the day. Originally (with Kingdom hearts final mix in Japan), this character existed 2 years before chain of memories and 3 years before KH2. Like back then you really had completely no idea who this person was at all till you saw the same cloak design in chain of memories 2 years later. Thats such an awesome tease.

notice how despite all of the Disney camo not counting the three main Disney trio of mickey, donald and goofy the beast is the only one who's dealt with the organization directly here he fights the main honcho himself xemnes and in KH2 he helps kill xaldin because xaldin targeted the beast specifically because he was so powerful the organization hardly bothered to mess with the other Disney characters because they weren't all that powerful in their eyes

I actually think this fight was easier than Sephiroth. At least here you got Donald and Goofy. My strategy was give Sora, Donald, and Goofy the weapons with the highest Strength number each, level up until all 3 were at 100, set Donald and Goofy’s AI to use everything freely, gave each of them equal amounts of Hi-Potions and Mega-Ethers, filled my load out entirely with Elixirs, activate Tinkerbell, and I went in all guns blazing. I beat him first try. Though I played on Standard difficulty, so...

Yeah these game's had a lot of buil up to them. KH2, Com, and Days were setting up BBS all this time. (With bbs and coded setting up DDD as well. )

It's not Unknown, if you play it on PS4, you should have known it was Xemnas obviously. This fight is where Sora fights as human (Sora is not a human anymore in KH2, seriously, who can walk on the wall?).

"Unknown" is just the official before-KH2-got-released boss name for him Kinda like "Unknown"/"Mysterious Figure" for Young Xehanort

He's not human here either. After Hollow Bastion, he's just a walking heart because he became a Heartless which removed his body (AKA Roxas) until the beginning of KH2

@@hwanniggles187 This is the part which I hate Kingdom Hearts, so much confusing. If you say so, how did he get his body after becoming Heartless? From Hollow Bastion until The World That Never Was, he had a body, everyone could see him, and Kairi even hugged him before fusing back with Roxas.

5 months late, but yes. In Days and KH2's opening when Xemnas tells Roxas that he's been to see him, he looks a lot like you, he was talking about going to fight Sora. According to the Days timeline, Xemnas fought Sora on Day 6 of Roxas' life. He also sampled Sora's memories, which he gave to Vexen, so Vexen could make Xion, who joins on Day 7.

Me: What the... so who’s this hooded guy supposed to be? 2:01 OOOOOH Xemnas 😒 Otherwise known as No Heart (BBS) Armored and final Manse... I MEAN XEMNAS 😅 (KH2-2.5) Xemnas(DDD) But seriously tho I gotta ask... if BBS happened before KH1... what happened to daddy’s armor? You was saving it for rainy day? Like Xemnas do you have ADHD or something? Cause you can’t be in armor in BBS then be in a black hood in KH1... to go into KH2-2.5 saying I liked the armor a lot more anyway back to armor we go... THEN change to final Xemnas and be like maybe a color change will satisfy me screw the armor... FINALLY in DDD you go back to black and not use armor OR change color up until KH3 so far... Moises Orihuela No I’m talking about No Heart from Birth by Sleep and the events between then up until KH3... Xemnas changes forms, Outfits and armor so many times... that’s why I’m joking about him having ADHD he goes from No Heart in Birth by Sleep to unknown here in KH1 then to Xemnas from KH2 where you see him in the old No Heart armor... Hence it being called Armored Xemnas fight... Soon after in KH2 he goes to final form and shows off a zebra organization outfit... then in Dream Drop Distance he sports the same old black coat until KH3...

Brick Jonas They can’t be different people because Xemnas shows up in KH2 wearing the same armor from BBS... Unknown in KH1 has the same fighting style as Xemnas in DDD and universally Xemnas shares his red ethereal blades when he isn’t in No Heart armor... it’s the same person... across the entire timeline...

No it’s actually Xemnas. The theme, weapons, and fighting techniques are the same. Besides Xemnas had mentioned this encounter to Roxas in the dark margin

@@TheDoremifan1 You're right but i can't help to think it's strange. The way he vanishes at the end, as if he was data. As far as music is concerned, in the data xemnas kh3 (which includes parts of all xemnas theme) you can't listen any part of this unknown theme. However this battle theme has some connections with the Master of Master theme in kh union x (same creepiness, similar melody).

The unknown in kh1 is xemnas. Alluding to a bigger scheme than sora and co knows. The unknown in bbs is young xehanort. Looking for past incarnations of xehanort.

Actually if your level 1 with EXP zero on proud mode you can live one hit and in the second hit you die.
