Take off High Jump for the Fenrir strat. I had issues stun locking enemies with it on

NicoB accidentally discovered the berserk charge method in his blind KH2 LP and it was hilarious seeing his total confusion as it was happening

"it may be more satisfying winning without these tactics" I won with Fenrir Jump attack combo after many, many, many tries, It was as difficult if I were to do it normally, And I was so relieved to finally get it done.

I actually didn't know buffer jumping was a named thing, I just feel that's something that comes natural to you as you play the game for a long while.

I tried Fenrir once. As a joke, and I'd already beaten him, but someone had told me about it and I didn't believe it.

Hey Bizkit would you ever consider doing a Level 1 guide? I remember when I did my playthrough at level 1 I used your old LvL 1 playthrough for pointers, but I've always wondered how exactly a pro would go about it especially now that you've had more experience with the game.

Finally, someone pointed out that when LW gets pushed to a corner or a wall, he'll break out the infinite Fenrir strat.

It sucks we probably won't get a boss as good as LW ever again for the kh series I hope I'm wrong but I doubt it:/

What’s funny is that the easiest strat is the one where you have to have beaten Sephiroth first in order to use Fenrir lol

when i fought him, i did use your normal loop and duck flare strat. even then, it took me a week because the LW can still do certain patterns i couldn't quite dodge and i don't think fighting it normally at that final phase is good for my sanity.

You know, Biz, your Normal Loop strat from ages ago helped me beat LW on Critical a while back. That strat is still tried and true. Thanks.

At the Beginning. I still used the Cheap Strategies but for a few weeks now I can legitimately defeat him. As soon as you know how to deal with him, he is fine, only towards the end I have problems with him when he brings his seal attack. Your Lingering Will Guide helped me too. ^^

Straight up, I could never figure these out, so I used the gull wing to get lvl 99 easy in twilight town. Then I basically fly around in final form until I can land a combo. One full aerial combo can take out a solid 4 bars of health. On top of that, when I reverted, I used Gennie final form to land a few hits, and use reflect to build drive when I could. All in all, tricky to figure out, but honestly the early leveling up makes a big difference in critical. I say just bite the bullet and make every fight easy that way. Anyways, thanks for the video. I never knew how to use the fenrir tactic properly, so I might give it a try next time. Thanks man!

The Final Form Firaga into Duck Flare strat actually looks pretty fun, I might try that out.

I did the Berserk Charge strategy and after 3 or so hours of trying, it worked lol I also mashed Square so fast that it was technically considered proper timing by the game's standards

You can also do the stitch strategy where you summon stitch to have near infinite magic throughout the whole fight. If you get to low health stitch will damage him so you get orbs to restore hp and stitch will automatically block the lasers for you. The most casual yet fair way to defeat lingering will.

Hey Biz quick question about Data Roxas. In last phase is there any way to tell during his light dash if he is gonna use his keyblade buzzsaw attack? I can do the fight fine enough with Limit Form strats but I want to do it without drive for challenge. But it is almost unreactable and I always get bodied by it. (At Level 1 btw)

Secret bosses after the main story are the most enjoyable fights in Kingdom Hearts, hope KH3 doesn't disappoint.

You can also cheese his desperation move by summoning stitch (i only did it because i couldnt parry his 3rd attack combo). After he finishes his Desperation move he lands and instantly gets stunned by stitch you can easily combo him afterwards + stitch also drops health orbs which resets your 1hp survive ability if you somehow mess up druing the desperation move

Man, I remember how I cheated the fight, but I felt so bad, so I re-did the fight, and I got so much satisfaction out of it, I was able to say that I've beat Lingering Will legitimately. *Terra's theme plays in the background while Mysterious Figure appears*

I believe there’s also the Stitch cheap strategy where once you summon you can continue the fight or do one of those loop hits. Stitch not only refills your HP and MP, though not always, he can also stun Lingering Will when he plays his ukulele.

When you’re young beating it without cheaping it out. But when you’re old this hurts your hands, in a game of war there is no cheap way to defeat their enemies

So what is the reason for Berserk Charge to work? In all the other tactics you explained the reason and they made sense as far as how the game screws itself over but this one just seems odd. Is it a bug with the revenge value not going up or resetting after every hit or something else? Was just wondering if knew is all.

In theory, couldn't you mix the final form firaga with the horizontal slash cheese?

I found this strat on my own my first time with this boss. I equip bond of flame and I also summon stitch. I actually loop the base form firaga and he has a hard time breaking out. Stitch provides me with plenty of cures and also deflects his huge projectile for me. Not only that, but constant HP orbs as well. When his desperation comes out I let go of stitch and have Donald do a limit for the invisibility. Then I repeat. Worked for me.

For normal looping it should be note that there is some tweak depending on the AI : -Ultima Canon AI is the best one he will always just do Rising Sun and the Whip when his revenge value is hit -Rising Sun AI is the second best but should be carefull cause if you come close to soon he might do a second whip attack -Curse AI is actually the second worst behind Glide AI he might retaliate with regular Rising Sun + Whip like the Ultima Canon AI but sometime he can become much random sometime I had him teleport away and then charge at me with an Instant Whip (quite deadly at LV1 if you're not fast enough to react).

How cheap is it to use fantasia to avoid all his DM? Cause that's what I did, and I still died a bunch from his curse... Also everyone had elixirs :)

I'm getting a weird result. I've beaten LW before but recently I decided to practice Crit Level 1 run by trying to face him at Lvl 99 on Crit but without Second Chance or Once More (since at LVL 1 I won't have those ever) Decisive Pumpkin in hand I do my three combos. Combo 1 end with Guard Break, Combo 2 Guars Break, Combo 3 Guard Break + Explosion. Revenge value triggered which is usually no problem, but with Pumkin equipped he almost always goes for laser spawn, but he is simultaneously fighting me OUT OF BIKE MODE. It's basically normal Phase 1 but with lasers. And without SC or OM it's hard to stay alive. Is this a result of doing too much damage too fast with "Combination Boost" or am I just getting an anomally?

On the one hand, I *did* use Berserk Charge the first time I beat Lingering Will, only I hadn't figured out how well BC'd Horizontal Slashes worked against him. I waited for openings and popped off Duck Flare, then unleashed BC'd aerial combos on him while the Limit was active.

I accidently ended up basically doing the Berserk Charge strat on my own just out of frustration and experimentation but tbh I wanna try all these others myself now.

The first time I played, Sora, Donald, and Goofy were at lvl 99, with the strongest weapons. I got owned so much that I used the Fenrir jump slash strategy. But I knew I wasn’t going to have any personal closure if I left it at that. So I replayed it. Sora had all Hi-Potions except for 1 Mega-Potion, Donald and Goofy each had 1 Mega-Potion, 1 Ether, and the rest Hi-Potions. Sora equipped with the Ultima Keyblade (IE the best one), and Donald and Goofy with their strongest weapons. All of their moves were set to “use freely”, and the items were on “emergency only” each. And set them to “attack Sora’s target”. I used Limits so I’d be invincible during his moves, and so as soon as he drops his guard, I’d already be attacking him. If not, then I used the Genie summon (IE the best one) to do the same thing. And if neither are there, I just glide around until either meter was full. RINSE AND REPEAT, and I beat him in about 6-8 tries.

How about duck flare+berserk charge?

sorry for the noobish question, but how does ps4 emulation work. is there a separate emulator or is it just the remote play thing? If it is an emulator, where would you get isos/roms? Like does it just have a setting to read the ps4 disc off your pc like rpcs3?

I’ve gotten so frustrated trying to beat lingering will that I tried the negative combo Strachey but I can’t get the loop right. He always bumps into a a wall or pillar.

I'm not getting that sword animation after (I think) following all the abilities advice posted everywhere for the negative combo strat. Is there like a finisher button i'm not pressing? I'm just doing O X O X. With my shitty sword animation i got him down one bar... I'm so annoyed I can't figure out what I did wrong.

My pride won't let me do any of these besides the normal looping for the DM phase. Might try not looping that on my next kh2fm run

I think every time I beat him I just watched his telegraphs and reacted.

But if looping is considered at least some what too easy then how would you fight LW “fairly” if going past the revenge value means an auto retaliation breaking through most finishers, combos or general attacks? I’m genuinely asking cuz I feel like I’m missing something.

ok wow. normal looping sounds kinda like how i did it on my own. my kit was, ultima weapon,2 fullbloom+ max ap, donald save the queen goofster save the king+, and the good stuff without combo pluses. basically, i let him do his thing, followed by my counter, but stopping before his revenge because his ai still is stupid easy to control like that. if bike value = true, final form fire is your best bet. at least, that was my process. when he does the orb his revenge value goes down by 1 guard break explosion set, so be careful. after i got him to rage phase, i basically did the normal normal loop thing and made sure my back was to the wall so he wouldn't backsnipe me.

How much strength is recommended to fight this boss on standard mode?

I still have a question, during the fenrir negative combo strategy, can you change the direction of your hits so he doesn't touch the wall?

I used the first strategy to beat both Lingering Will and Data Roxas. I'll edit when I beat any other data battles. Marluxia beaten.

My first LW kill was the Negative Combo cheese, didn't feel like a victory but I was happy to get the trophy and the platinum. Did it properly on the PS4 release and it was so much more satisfying to beat him normal, I can still go back and beat him fairly reliably but he still beats me more than I beat him, the big difference is I feel I have a much greater control of the fight.

Its funny about the berserk charge strat, cause i used berserk charge everytime i fought him, i just never used the stunlock version. I would just spam it, and i fought him so much that i actually found out that i can use it 10 or 11 times before he would retaliate.

Is this patched?? My sora does a different animation every time and I follow exactly what you did in the video. Feed back?

I would hate getting a crown cheaply in KH2FM if I'm not speedrunning. Completely ruins the satisfaction

I dunno how to beat him without Normal Looping, or most super bosses for that matter.

Personnaly I would have never beaten Lw without the last two cheap strats I don't believe to have ruined my experience because of it, I was on him for almost a year and half (first time attempting to actually beat him on critical mode never tried before bc each time I was rekt by him) and I believe these strats are the more safe to use considering you only need to get what revenge value is and how to use it at your advantage properly assuming you don't want to deal with his berserk move once you know how deadly they are... Btw is the game that different on ps4 ? I've only owned the ps3 vers so I can't tell

First time I used Fenrir out of frustration. Came back a day later with the normal loop. I honestly don't know how you would beat him without keeping track of his revenge value. Once I learned how to counter him I got pretty consistent tho, I beat him a second time immediately after.

When I fought him, I found Stitch to be a little cheesy too since he can easily stun lock Lingering Will after doing his attacks with the ukelele.

I cheesed with Stitch. He'd always go into ukulele everytime I messed up, staggering him long enough to get a punish, plus the added benefits of HP orbs

Fenrir is this like game's equivalent of DDD's bubble... only you can't get it til very late game

I was using final form and got him down to half health but died cause I forgot to change my items from ethers to elixirs

I wish I had this on a recording though but the first time I tried fighting lingering will with the normal strategies I never had the timing down and I got mad enough to do a duck flare then fenrir and I did beat him but I feel ashamed that I didn't beat him legitimately

Glad I didn't found this out while I was hunting for Platinum a while back. My friend and I made a complete analysis of LW's moves and spend an eternity practicing countermoves. It was the first time in years a challenging boss forced us into old-school investigation work and it made it *so* much more satisfying to eventually beat the boss :)

Does Berserk Charge not add revenge value?

I didn't even realize I did the berserk charge strat but worse cause I had everything on like mp rage and he broke out after some time so technically it was a normal fight for me

I recently beat LW for the first time and I ended up using the Normal Looping strategy, but with a different way to hit revenge value. Now that I have fought honorably, it may be time to farm this sunnova with Fenrir...

I dont even like using the ars arcanum loop. Its fast. But i still think its cheap.

And SOME of us are just not dexterous enough to be capable of beating him. I know him inside and out, but can't beat him without stunlock because I lack the finger dexterity.

I only started looking at these "cheap" strats after I first beat LW normally. I used these strats for synth grinding, obviously. I feel fairly proud of myself, having beat this boss on lvl1
