This is Kingdom Hearts' most difficult any% category - Level 1. In this video I explain the strategies that I use to beat the game at Level 1 as fast as possible. I hope you enjoy!

I think it would have been informative to mention that exp 0 leaves you with 1hp when taking hits, to avoid one shots. It also adds a damage floor during bosses, so that they don't take forever. (If you saw a comment from me before that I deleted, I got confused and thought this was kh2 before actually watching more than a minute, whoops)

Final rest on level 1 was so unbelievably horrible that I had to resort to speedrunner tactics. Luckily I wasn't speedrunning so I had access to better magic accessories, keyblades, and more cheer abilities so it wasn't as tight with the timings. Incredible that we've collectively decided that the best way to handle that fight is to force no interaction at all.

Sometimes I think back to people who did KH 1.5HD LV1 when it came out and just am so amazed by how they did it. I think it was Cyberman who used Simba on final rest, but he had to get stopra to even beat it. It's has been fascinating to see how much faster the run as become over the past 10+ years.

Your dialogue's getting better, you're really good at making yourself sound very clear but maybe try and focus on making it sound less like your reading a script, and more like a casual conversation if that makes sense? It can be a good point for some people, but personnaly I find the way he speaks just right. I know he reads a script but it doesn't matter to me because it fits the video. Anyway, great video as usual !

I think it depends on the tones he wants to give to the videos, bothsz have their prosz and conszhvzszerzsz, this way the videos ends upsz beingsz more informativeszerzsz than anythingsz elsezszerzsz without any that mucherzsz of emotionalsz valueszrzszezszrzszrerzsz attachedsz to itrzsz.

Damn, this was my favorite KH game since 2002, it felt the most grounded, but I am just now finding out about this damage storage and that you can drop down from the Tree House in different locations.

I definitely liked the wonderful transition segue though wanton it might be. Honestly i have no interest in Disney stuff but this looks interesting/ fun even! Could any familiar/ fans/experts recommend suggestions on kingdom series/games dos and don'ts for a jrpg fan whos a smidge wary/weary of mouseular or like related brands affiliated with Disney. Is there worth in the series for one such as me even beyond the usages of final fantasy trappings/ territories or should I steer clear?

I've been finally playing through this series (I always kept getting stuck at some point), and one thing I find quite strange is that the voices in this run are all in Japanese. I've been playing the original PS2 Final Mix versions (I'm through KH1, Re:CoM, and am in KHII), and my Japanese copies of the PS2 Final Mix games have English voices with Japanese subtitles. So I find it so strange that the I'm guessing 1.5 HD? version you're playing has Japanese voices when the original had English, even in Japan.

For Guard Armor it's called "Shrouding Dark Cloud", and for Opposite Armor it's called "Destiny's Force"

The most active KH speedrun is KH1FM Any% Beginner. I've actually been pushing for the first ever 1:47 in that category alongside MistMaster1 and bandityoshi in case you're interested in checking out some attempts from either of us. I'll be making a video on the category in the near future as well

You have to make sure Windows is fully updated, your game is fully updated, and that you're using your actual graphics card instead of "dedicated graphics" from your CPU. If you have an AMD GPU, I've heard that has some compatibility issues with KH, so hopefully you have NVIDIA

18:41 Does Damage Storage affect summons? Because maybe in order to be safer wouldn't Dumbo be better for invincibility or it would cost too much time?

Damage Storage does work with Summons, but doesn't work on enemies with less than 300HP, and LSB have pretty small health bars. Not only that, but Dumbo takes 3MP to summon, takes at least 10 seconds to summon, and require both Donald and Goofy to be alive 😅

It's a glitch that happens with 30 series graphics cards and above, because the PC port wasn't properly tested for those

That's a good point, I just assumed people would know so that's my bad. Level 1 is hard because you deal pretty bad physical damage (even with EXP Zero scaling), and you die everywhere in two hits. In the speedrun, there are various moments where you can get comboed at random into death, and it's also hard to get a perfect run due to various RNG patterns from stuff like the Genie summon, Anti Sora, LSB, and so on. The Oogie Manor fight is a prime example of why the run is difficult, as I could've easily died in various spots if my party didn't throw me a Potion, and I almost died at the end.

Adding onto this, it's just a very hard category to learn. Maleficent for example required hours of labbing and practice because of how tight the air combos have to be, and during my first attempt of this category, I was death cycling to the Linked Worlds Heartless for over 3 hours 😅

@@ViolinSpeedruns LMAOOO yeah I can definitely see that Throughout the video you did a pretty good job of pointing out what made certain situations hard, but I think if you added: 1. An explanation at the beginning as to why they run is so hard and why there’s only 10 people on the leaderboards And 2. The payoff, showing what you placed as person number 11 on the leaderboard Would be very nice touches to make videos like this a complete story. Keep it up though man you’re doing awesome

Blue: Out of combat. Red: In combat.

For KH2 and beyond, the Command Menu can also turn yellow, which means normal fights (since red is now reserved for event battles and bosses)

...Wait, you need to bother to kill a few Shadows to make Sq- *cough* Leon to actually show up? I never knew that, I thought just stepping in the Third District was enough. Oh yeah and something to go over from what I know of EXP Zero: As long as you keep it on and never level up, you automatically have a pseudo-Second Chance. What I mean by that is you can't be one-shotted at least from full HP. Anything less might still get you killed, but as long as you haven't taken a hit yet, you get at least one. Just think of it as you always have 2 HP at all times since literally any healing outside of ball prizes is a full heal at level 1.
