About KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE:
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is an incredibly massive project I've been wanting to do forever. The only thing that was stopping me from actually working on it was the still-incomplete plot of the χ[chi] portion of the whole saga, which is also the most confusing one. However, I did want to deliver this before the release of KINGDOM HEARTS 3, so we could have the perfect road to the final chapter of the Xehanort saga at our disposal and relive, together, all of the chapters in a definitive and never-seen-before way.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE is, in fact, different by any other playthroughs or projects around because it is composed of all the Kingdom Hearts titles released so far placed in chronological order. Beware - the events are actually settled chronologically. Which means that every single cutscene and/or gameplay part will follow the exact order of the events of the saga. For instance, the birth of Vanitas will be shown before the Mark of Mastery exam, and so on.
Every episode will start with a screen showing a complete timeline I created purposely for this project.
KINGDOM HEARTS TIMELINE doesn't want to be a simple movie made of cutscenes. If It were to be like that, there wouldn't be anything special about it. This project actually started as a playthrough, giving, of course, priority to story content.
Sitting and watching a 25 minutes video made of cutscenes we've been watching for a decade is just as boring as anything else. Gameplay bits have been thoughtfully placed to make sure you won't fall asleep when watching, giving their contribute for a more immersive experience. They are necessary for keeping people interested and entertained in a never-seen-before way to re-live the saga, watching multiple characters fighting at the same time, as well as showcasing the worlds and the variety of enemies we'll encounter through all the titles.
Finding the right balance is not easy and not always possible -due to countless technical restrictions related to music, episode length and such- just as it's not easy having everyone thinking alike. Of course, I can't make everyone happy, but I did want to point this out.
Lastly, I want you guys to know that the amount of effort being put for this is massive. There are countless hours of work and dedication I've spent (and still spending) for this, for something we all love and care about. My channel is, after all, always been made of this - content that will grant you one of the best levels of knowledge and enjoyment of the Kingdom Hearts saga - and, as much as it's stressful having to translate every Japanese Union χ [Cross] episode, I still do that to deliver the latest story updates of the saga for you.
My main goal is working as much professionally as I can and add details where normally people wouldn't add. Not liking a content is totally fine, whereas insulting and posting offensive comment is not. There is nothing worse than spending your own time to show dedication for something we all love and see offensive reactions coming back at you. For this whole project to be completed, suggestions and questions coming from fans are well accepted and needed. You know, it comes to my attention that Donald and Goofy are really underappreciated characters in the series. Their scenes with Sora in this game really brings out their best qualities.

Yeah. Being in Hollow Bastion is like a Deja Vu to them, and the two took this chance to show Sora what they really wanted to express since way back in KH1, this time being their turn to show and prove Sora that the "My friends are my power" statement really rings true for Donald and Goofy too. As if that's not enough, they made us players go through the No Keyblade gameplay even in the data world. I believe this is the part that really makes Re:Coded a worthy addition to the KH timeline.

- I love how Coded and Dream Drop Distance are reversed with pairing Sora, Donald, and Goofy. In Coded, it's the real Donald and Goofy with Data Sora and in 3D, it's the real Sora with Dream Donald and Goofy. - The cutscene with the trio meeting up in the dungeon and in the elevator always makes me tear up.

16:20 Sora's reasoning of wanting to go alone and him trying to conquer the glitches by himself subtly foreshadows how Sora mentions that his friends helped him make it this far and how he might have to face Xehanort alone from the recent KH3 trailers.

@@PaperLuigiInACar I think it has to do with Data-Sora being based off KH1 Sora, who hasn't gone through the events of KH1 and 2. This Sora has had experiences that have shaped him in a different way than normal Sora. While both still rely on their friends to give them power, Data-Sora went through most of his adventure alone.

12:30 I love this scene. It may just be a remake of the "My friends are my power" scene but it is a damn good remake. Gets me in the feels every time. 24:17 This is only time I have ever seen Sora use the backside of his Keyblade. Say what you will about this game but Nomura really seemed to be experimenting a lot during this game.

@@danielwhite3244 they said that Heartless already destroyed the walls between worlds inside the datascape, and they were targeting the walls between the datascape and the real world, using the damage in that wall, riku sent mickey & co. inside the datascape... So... in this final moment, when everything was recovered, one dark power took control of the datascape and started deleting everything. That darkness was very powerful, so in the end, it would go out to the real world using the connection used by mickey. So riku said: "We can't let something that powerful get loose. The journal data has to be locked."

Also remember, when Ansem the wise first opened "that door", stars started to fall from the skies, the gummi were discovered, those were the Walls that separated the worlds. Those walls were already destroyed by KH1.

13:09 It makes very much sense to have added "Link To All" to similar moments in the series, looking at how Donald and Goofy also utter the "My friends are my power" sentence. 14:24 Nice detail. I didn't realise before to whom Mickey was referring to. 21:47 Interesting to see that the boss fight against Data-Riku is here nearly identical to that against Riku as Roxas in the DS version of 358/2 Days. Guess the original fight also made it to your Timeline series, in a way. 25:26 It almost sounds as if the "Debug Data-Riku" / Hollow Bastion II part of that game was a draft for Riku having the power to awaken sleeping people in Dream Drop Distance. Or as if this was the same concept. 30:28 Or as if the Core Blox was an early bug-based Demon Tide from 0.2. Anyway, nice episode Everglow! It's interesting to have an episodic format for Re:coded, given that coded was originally released as such. The game makes more sense, structurally speaking.

I think the most important part in Re:Coded that in the last part of Re:Coded Data Sora learns of everyone’s pain and hurt, something real Sora never truly got to experience until DDD (but that was only with Roxas), I think the scene where Mickey says, “Kairi’s right, we’re all in this together Sora.” Is where he’ll finally actually teach Sora about the hurt Mickey had to face in Re:Coded, because he never actually told him about it???? One of my most favourite plot points that just got skipped and forgotten about by Mickey :,))

As I understood - Namine found this traumatic memories and deduced if Sora will access them all at the same time it can break him - make him vulnerable to darkness - so she used Ansem the Wise research to create an artificial simulation based on Jiminy's journal (she knew about it) of "What if" situation where Sora unlocks it. The point is - test if real Sora can handle these memories - if simulation proves he can't - then anyone who was in presence during simulation will now know and prevent this from happening. And even though simulation proved that Sora can handle it and not lose himself - there is a catch - Data-Sora unlocked this and learned to manage it step by step - meanwhile real Sora... - Kinda had to unlock at least a part from Roxas' trauma konga line of memories while being in stressfull situation and poisoned by darkness... Sora going only comatose in DDD from this... You can say considering his situation he got off easy...

It wasn't just Roxas. Sora felt the pain of Xion first, followed by the pain of Roxas in full detail (way more detail and memory than Data Sora experienced), and lastly the pain of Ventus. But all along he had been feeling those three inside of him, the different situations he experienced in the dream worlds were meant to draw out that pain. Mickey knowing about the painful memories wasn't a dropped plot point, it's literally what prompts Mickey to see Yensid and write the letter we've been hearing bits of throughout the movie. The plot needed Mickey to experience it because Data Sora experiencing it was basically meaningless, he's not the real Sora and what he feels and learns isn't transmitted to the real thing. Mickey was the vehicle in which the important information and feelings get passed along.

I always felt that those talks sora and riku have are the best written part of coded, it really feels like the writers tried to squeeze as much as they could with really good interactions from to pretty opposite characters, growing and developing their ideals and a bit of good banter in there as well. Too bad what comes before isnt quite there lets just say

Happy New Year Everglow! Man, hard to believe we’re at the good stuff already! I would have loved to see some mod madness for the Pete and Riku fights, but I get why you stuck with the DS footage. Still, it would have been nice to at least see the Maleficent boss fight, it actually gave some decent insight to Maleficent’s philosophy and motivations behind wanting to cover the worlds in Darkness. I still have my fingers crossed that we might get some mods for the Data-Sora’s Heartless and Data-Roxas boss fights. It would so be worth any extra days of waiting! But at the same time, I understand if you’re just trying to get this over with as quickly as possible. Still, at the very least it would be nice to see what you did with the Xion fight be applied here, with the HD upscaling and Kingdom Key or Zero/One Keyblades being used. It’d still be nice to see a moded Roxas boss fight too like with Riku, but I’d still be content if you just went and upscaled it to HD as well. I feel like I’m asking a lot, but I just really like this game, flaws and all (or, bugs and all, lol), and I want to see it get the same love and attention other entires tend to get, it’s more fun than people give it credit for. Guess I just have a thing for misfits. But then again, for all I know you might already have something in the works. You did say there may be a few surprises here and there, so I’ve still got my fingers crossed for something great for the finale to really do this title justice. Great work as always, can’t wait to see how you close this chapter out, tie it in to the end of KH2 and Blank Points, and I’m really looking forward to how you present Dream Drop Distance. I always thought that some of those scenes could use the ol’ Everglow editing magic, so it’ll be nice to see a more fluid story between Sora and Riki’s perspectives. In particular seeing Prankster’s Paradise come before The Grid, Riku’s side of Prankster’s Paradise happening after Sora’s, dynamic editing between Sora and Riku scenes so that they follow each other in an order that makes it one big story instead of two smaller ones, etc. But you’re a talented guy, you know what you’re doing by now, I shouldn’t tell you how to do your own project of love. Just keep doing all the great things you do, because you’re only getting better and better, and we always want to see more! Here’s to another great year of great content!!

We’re almost done with coded so the next episode will be the last one I think but the cutscenes for castle oblivion is long. I wonder how will you handle this. And happy new year 28 more days to go
