Director Wes Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign, in which apes are the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows. As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
“Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes” is directed by Wes Ball (the “Maze Runner” trilogy) and stars Owen Teague (“IT”), Freya Allan (“The Witcher”), Kevin Durand (“Locke & Key”), Peter Macon (“Shameless”), and William H. Macy (“Fargo”). The screenplay is by Josh Friedman (“War of the Worlds”) and Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver (“Avatar: The Way of Water”) and Patrick Aison (“Prey”), based on characters created by Rick Jaffa & Amanda Silver, and the producers are Wes Ball, Joe Hartwick, Jr., p.g.a. (“The Maze Runner”), Rick Jaffa, p.g.a., Amanda Silver, p.g.a., Jason Reed, p.g.a. (“Mulan”), with Peter Chernin (the “Planet of the Apes” trilogy) and Jenno Topping (“Ford v. Ferrari”) serving as executive producers.

Exactlyyy lmao I was just telling my friends about that. Like nobody realized the impact on that part. Or even when the male chimp says “the elders did not tell us everything about this world” off that line alone I believe the apes in this time have the wrong idea of the past. I’m almost certain they believe they were the original dominant species while humans were always the “stupid animals” and I think Mae knows the truth and so does the mc ape.

the movies are fun and entertaining, but masterpiece? really? the writing after the 1st one really aint that great. The plot will quickly throw logic and common sense out the window to get where it wants. At the end of the day the movies are more about the crazy visuals than the writing. its not bad by any means, but the 70/100 rating the series gets is pretty spot on.

Just got home from the cinema can still feel the adrenaline 😅 .. This film is absolutely world class, beginning to end. The new direction is brilliant and with the introduction of Noa as the new ape lead, this film holds up with the first trilogy. The CGI and overall motion picture is just a different level compared to the first three. Caesar lore running through the whole of this film and you can feel his prescence throughout. Opening scene is also just 😮‍💨 a great opening tribute to Caesar! All in all, outstanding 🤝🏽👏🏽
